"Sprite China Original Music Awards 2007" was held in Shanghai. Miriam and Leon Lai took photos together backstage. When Leon put his hand on Miriam's shoulder, he asked her if his hand was cold. But Miriam was wearing thin clothes and she was already cold until she couldn't feel anything. Miriam received a total of three awards including "Asia Pacific Most Popular Female Singer," "Best Album," and a song award for "The Way of the World". She thought it was a good start and she'll finally release a Mandarin album this year.

happy birthday miriam... wish you all the best in everything u do..
by the way, does anyone know if there will be any dvd release for her concert??
Edison Chen has been involved in the scandal photos incident. Miriam and Edison are God siblings and belong to the same artiste management company.
When she returned from Japan at Hong Kong International Airport together with her manager, over 10 fans already waited for her with a birthday cake and presents. When Miriam saw the reporters she wasn't very surprised and looked relaxed. When reporters asked her about the scandal photos, Miriam replied, "Don't know! (Did you look for Edison?) I went to Japan after Shanghai and didn't even read any news! (You are his Godsister and had rumors with him before, are you afraid of getting involved?) Not clear! (Did you look for Bobo Chan?) I don't know anything, I haven't read!" But reporters have been making overseas call to Miriam's manager when they were in Japan to ask about Edison, so it seems strange now that Miriam claims she don't know about the development.
Happy Birthday to FAFA!!! Wishing her the very best in 2008!!! xD

happy birthday miriam... wish you all the best in everything u do..
by the way, does anyone know if there will be any dvd release for her concert??
It was made clear that there won't be any DVD for her concert... ;[ Due to all the publishing rights, the cost is super high to release a DVD. Since Miriam switched from Capital Artistes to Gold Label, and now A-Music, gathering all the publishing rights for her songs would probably cost more than the profit they make for AAL. Miriam therefore wanted to sing her old songs and focus on the "LIVE" factor. She really worked really hard for this concert and personally as an overseas fan who couldn't make it to her show, it was disappointed that she couldn't release a DVD for her AAL concert...
Anyways there are some clips from fans who taped her concert on youtube... Some have good quality, too!!! Check it out! xD
A bunch of good friends celebrated with Miriam her 34th birthday at Central Lan Kwai Fong's Q97 bar including Justin Lo, Theresa Fu, Sammy Leung, Kitty Yuen, Daniel Chan, Raymond Lau and Paco Wong. Miriam arrived with a purple scarf at 11.30pm. Over 10 fans were already outside and gave her a small birthday card.
The gang partied until 2am and left respectively. Miriam wanted to avoid the media and left by the back door, but was caught by reporters and hence said, "Sorry for making you all wait so long when it's so cold." When asked what's her birthday wish, she repeated a few times, "Hope all bad things in the showbiz will be gone in the new year."
Miriam who had rested a few days during CNY, started work yesterday as guest for Habor City's Lion Dance event and attracted hundreds of citizens and tourists. Miriam sat on a sedan with a flag of "Yeung", carried by eight men when entering. Then she accepted a few presents from the "God of Fortune" including a golden silver piece, a peacock folded with redpackets, a peach blossom windmill and a laughing doll. Later she turned the big windmill together with the "God of Fortune" to get good luck for Hong Kong, and distributed red packets to citizens.
Entering the year of Rat, Miriam wishes all things to be good and the bad things like the snow storm and rumors to pass away quickly. Regarding the photo scandal incident, a certain magazine hinted Miriam's involvement. Miriam expressed that she was in Japan for a commercial shoot when this incident happened, but her company had informed her that the police are handling this matter. Hence to respect the legal spirit, she felt that no one is qualified to discuss or comment about it openly. But because the incident involves her friends, she felt unhappy for certain. She only saw one or two photos that were published in newspapers, and even though someone forwarded her the photos, she deleted them already. She said, "This whole thing makes my heart feel uncomfortable. As an artiste, I feel bad and hope the police can find out the truth quickly." When asked if she had looked for her God-brother (Edison Chen)? She said her friends are all having holidays and she could only SMS new year wishes and regards to them. She hopes in the new year, every artiste can do their part and let people know their sincerity and objective. As for which friends have she send regards to? Miriam refused to disclose, but just wanted to express her concerns. She also felt that she shouldn't make comments and talk about it if it's friends as this is respecting them.
About her being hinted as involved in the sex photo list, Miriam said it's not only involving a lot of female artistes, but also a big affect to social convention. It affected moral and values, hence she does not feel like responding in order not to encourage the exaggeration. She said, "I'm not most worried about the female artistes in the list, but about parents. I believe they wouldn't want their children to be waiting in front of the computer after work or posting photos onto the internet. This will make the parents feel hurt.(Did Miriam's parents ask her about it?) Mummy trust me definitely. I feel helpless about the reports. There won't be chances for people to say when such things are impossible to happen. If I've done so, next year I'll set up a stall in Harbor City to write and sell couplets for the whole year. In brief I'm clear and innocent. I've been in this circle for already 12 years, there's no need for explanation. But it's sad that the magazine use this as an advantage to sell. I'll reserve my rights to pursue and it's in the process of being dealt with. I can't let others hurt my dignity." When asked if Miriam will take intimate photos when dating? She said, "I've taken many photos in showbiz so I won't take unnecessary photos. Dignity is valuable. Furthermore I'm old and conservative."

Miriam Yeung is the Brand New Spokesperson of Shiseido
As the new ambassador of Shiseido's whitening line in Hong Kong and China, Miriam went to visit Shiseido's headquarter in Japan. The image consultant of Noriko Fujiwara was invited to design Miriam's image.
It's Miriam's first time visiting the headquarter's tea garden and getting in touch with Sadoh (Japanese tea ceremony), "Initially I thought Sadoh is very simple, but after experiencing for myself, I find it's not easy at all. Every step has to be serious and detailed. It has to be done full-heartedly in order to be good." Miriam also agree with the meaning of "meeting once in lifetime" in Sadoh, "treating people you meet today as someone who you will never meet again, and do your best to make them feel satisfied and happy. Even if it's just an acquaintance, treat them with sincerity!"
Miriam also visited the Shiseido Parlour where famous restaurants and food are located. Miriam saw the first ever soft drink machine in Japan and tasted the popular Lemon Soda.

Miriam is the Brand New Face of Shiseido's Whitening Line
The rumors of Miriam and Real Ting have not stopped. Recently there were reports of Miriam and Real Ting's mother having a meal together. Yesterday when Miriam attended Shiseido's Whitening ambassador press conference, she explained that day was her friend's birthday and just so happened that Real Ting's mother also knew this friend, hence they ate together. Miriam admitted to know the mother quite well, but continued to deny her relationship with Real Ting. Miriam described her current status as "whitening", empty but filled with hope and brightness.
Miriam signed on as Shiseido's Whitening ambassador in Hong Kong and China for a year. She praised the product and reporters asked if she got a good price hence hard-selling to promote. Miriam is satisfied with her pay and said the product is really good to use because it concerns her reputation. But she's most satisfied because she could go Japan for the advertisement shoot. During the 4 day trip, she forgot to bring her credit card and had to let her manager pay for her expenditure first.
Miriam explained further on the report of having dinner with Real Ting's mother. Actually she has no need to respond to such news since it's just a meal. She joked that it doesn't mean meeting parents and talking about marriage when friends visit during Chinese New Year and met the ancestors altar. Miriam stressed it's a normal gathering. She knows she's grown-up and people are worried about her future. She then said she must use more skincare products if not she won't be pretty enough when she really have to meet the parents. When asked if she had given whitening products to Real Ting's mother, she replied every friend can get a box.
At the recent "9+2" Awards held by MetroRadio and other stations, Miriam and Leo Ku didn't attend and got zero awards. But Joey Yung who also didn't show up got 3 awards. Miriam replied calmly that every awards presentation has different system, most importantly is harmony. She couldn't attend because she had to go Sichuan to visit the snow storm victims. Did Miriam think it's unfair that Joey got 3 awards? Miriam said she has already joined this game for many years and will never be able to choose if it's fair or not. She can only accept it. If she kept asking about fairness, her face will turn black and won't be pretty.

Miriam Yeung Missing; Joey Yung: "No Wonder It's So Quiet!" Credits: Oriental Daily Translated: Dengero @ Joey Galaxy
As Miriam Yeung refuses to renew a musical contract with TVB, yesterday's recording of "Glory Land" MV (The theme song for the 2008 Beijing Olympics) was boycotted by Miriam's company Amusic, which included famous artists like Janice Vidal, Jill Vidal, Charles Ying, Michael Wong and Leon Lai (Who owns Amusic).
Eason Chan, Leo Ku and Joey Yung all commented that different companies had thier own policies and Joey added, "No wonder it was so quiet today! Perhaps not continuing the contract will allow more improvement space. Maybe Miriam thinks the Hong Kong entertainment industry is too small and wants to reach out to the world! Personally I think working with TVB had been comfortable, so I will keep going for the near future."
When interviewed, Miriam expressed that everything was to be directed to her famous boss Leon Lai but added, "I don't really know much, perhaps they are preparing me for my olympic torch run, or they think I represent Macau and not Hong Kong, so they didn't include me."
When asking the director of "Glory Land"'s MV 潘裕佳 whether he deliberately left out artists from Amusic, he expressed that he had already sent an invitation, but received a reply that all artists had no time in their schedule. Amusic left a statement saying the discontinued contract between Miriam and TVB and the unattendance for the MV is two things and unrelated.

Miriam Yeung: Extremely High Spirits, Felt Like Rowena Lam Macau Torch Bearer, Ran Too Fast Credit: Serena @http://asian-gossip.blogspot.com/ Thanks to Serena for this long translation Source:MingPao
Miriam Yeung was the torch bearer for Macau. Yesterday, she was responsible for the relay run from Star World Hotel to Wynn Macau Resort. She was in extremely high spirits. She would continuously wave to the fans and crowd on the tour bus and while she was running. She jumped up and down as per the reporter’s request for the pictures. She said that she was emotionally overloaded and felt a bit crazy. When she started her run, she felt like Rowena Lam*. She was running too fast and the workers asked her to slow down. Miriam’s parents dressed up for the event to see her. But they received the wrong information and stood in the wrong location so they didn’t see her carry the torch. Miriam and her parents feel very disappointed about it.
Miriam was the 16th runner. She appeared to be very excited when she received the torch. She had a wide grin on her face and ran fast. But she was running faster and faster so the blue-clothed workers asked her to slow down. After she finished her mission, she rode a specialized bus. She peered out the window, waved to the fans and continuously yelled: “Add oil China (Continue on with the effort China)”. Some of the crowd commented that Miriam had very pale skin on her hand.
In an interview, Miriam expressed that she was tired because she suddenly awoken at 5 AM. She was in cold sweat when she awoken. She was on a “high” when she was the torch bearer. Her voice is hoarse since she was screaming “Add oil China” because of her high spirits. At that moment, she felt like she was the Miss Hong Kong Rowena Lam. She felt “亵” when she was told to slow down. She felt it was a lost when she knew her disappointed parents did not see her carry the torch.
She laughed and said that Eason Chan called her to tell her to “add oil”. He joked that she should give more effort and not to stumble on her own legs when she starts to run. He is really caring and joking with her. Did you wonder how you were made a Macau torch bearer? Miriam said that a corporate sponsor sponsored her. She was an Outstanding Youth Ambassador of Macau. She was also an opening ceremony guest for the East Asian Games so that is why she was chosen to be a torch bearer. She felt the passion of the Macanese and felt the honour to be an Olympic torch bearer. She was pondering a lot before the run. She originally wanted to wear a hair band but felt it made her look like “Kodomo Robokon”. She decided to tie her hair up and put on little makeup. But her makeup still melted because she was too hot after her run.
Is the torch heavy? Miriam responded that it was slightly heavy. Leo Ku was criticized for switching hands too often. She said he was probably too excited (alludes to Leo’s sweaty hands). Miriam would take special care to protect the commemorative torch and return to Hong Kong. She joked that she would kick the person who will try to steal her torch. She would place the torch in her living room because her father feels that it would honour the ancestors.
Comment: Rowena Lam is a Miss Hong Kong winner in the 1970s and I think she is the one that went crazy with her screaming and head shaking when she was announced the winner.

Source: Takungpao (No Pic) Translated by: kingkongit27 @ http://asianeu.net/forums/ Miriam Yeung in shock as a tree falls on her car
Yesterday while Miriam Yeung was going home, a tree suddenly collapsed and fell on her car. She responded to the media by saying “Thank you everyone, I am okay. Yesterday I went out with my friends to eat. When I was heading home the route I normally go by was under road construction. We stopped at the temporary red lights but within 5 seconds there was a loud bang. The whole front windscreen was covered by a tree and we could hardly see anything. Some small pieces of glass hit my driver but fortunately I was sitting in the back seat so wasn’t hurt. During that time we didn’t know what to do and was too afraid to leave the car in case something else might happen. Therefore my driver climbed over to the back seat and called the police. I would like to thank the Hong Kong police for turning up so fast as it was only a matter of minutes after we made the emergency call. The police helped us open the boot and asked us to climb out. When we were out of the car I was completely shocked by the damage it caused. The size of the tree managed to damage half of the car. In my mind I was thinking thankfully it wasn’t me driving. If I was driving by myself maybe there would have been serious injuries.
Miriam states that to avoid her mother getting worried she didn’t phone her during the time of the incident. “I only called my management company and they arranged someone to drive me home. When I got home I told my mother that it was a minor matter. But this morning my mother read the article in the newspaper about the incident and immediately asked me to do a worshipping. She claimed that I was very lucky to have not been injured in such an incident. However my driver was injured by small pieces of glass and even though he says its minor, I will still force him to have an check-up at the hospital in case he is still in shock.

Source: Mingpao Translated by: kingkongit27 @ http://asianeu.net/forums/ Miriam Yeung becomes anxious while doing an interview under a tree
Miriam Yeung attended the “Sichuan Relief basketball” charity event at Wan Chai Sports Ground yesterday. While she was doing an interview under a tree she suddenly became very anxious often looking up. “I’m afraid it might fall down” she replies. (Would it be that the incident has traumatized you?) “During the time of the incident I never knew it would be that serious. Luckily my driver and myself escaped from serious injuries. I worship the Goon yam. That’s why I immediately did a worshipping when I got home”.
“After the incident, although I have always had the heart to help others it’s made me think that I should do even more work to help others. I know that life is not all about myself but others around me. If you are able to help people that need help you should. I will be even more determined and stronger, not giving up easily. But mostly will cherish the people around me and the things I have”. (Asked whether rumoured boyfriend Ding Ji Guo had been the first to call her after the incident happened?) “Not only Mr Ding but also many friends and colleagues have been in contact with me. I was very touched by everyone”.
Miriam celebrated Father’s day with her father a little earlier this year . She had booked tickets for her parents to visit her younger brother who’s studying in England. “I originally wanted to go with them but due to work I couldn’t. I also have to do recordings for my new album that will be released in September. So far, I have only recorded 3 songs”.

Miriam Yeung wants a taste of being an OL Wednesday June 18, 2008 Hong Kong Translated by: dragon888 @ Asian EU Source: Mingpao
Miriam went to the radio press conference yesterday. She aimed to support all workers. During the ceremony , host Jerry Lam Hiu Fung joked that the microphone was huge. Miraim laughed her head off, saying she laughed because of the size of the microphone, nothing else. She was a nurse before, there was nothing she hasn't seen before, if she had a choice of changing her career right now, she wouldn't mind working in the office. Even though she might get bored or bullied.
Nice working with Leon
Miriam is busy recording her next album. There will be songs in Cantonese and Mandarin. Most of them chosen by boss Leon . She herself will produce one or two songs too. She expressed " Leon has so much experience, in particular for the mandarin song. "
She stressed that she is very happy working with Leon. After her accident, she feels she has to be optimistic , enjoy life and think of the postive side of life and soldier on to work well.

Miriam Yeung has no marriage plan yet
Kelly had ended her 16 year love marathon , she is to get married soon. Miriam is happy as well as being touched. She disclosed that she is at the bottom of a long queue. Therefore she is concentrating in her work. She admired the way Kelly announced her forthcoming marriage, reflecting her independent and strenth, which gives a lot of encouragement to other females. She expressed " nowadays women have careers at the same time, they need a family of their own too." It has boasted Miriam's self esteem.
Encouragement to modern ladies Miriam has been busy recording. she was told by the reporter about Kelly's good news. When asked by the reporter would she announce her good news the same way, she replied " It's still a long way to go yet, i am busy memorising the lyrics and more worried about the selling records" when asked if she envied the way Kelly was prposed, she replied " we are all different, our lives are different, this good news is a great encourgement to the career women, having both, career and family at the same time"
"Hong Kong and Sichuan unite, Rebuild new homes" event
Miriam attended a sharing event for Sichuan home rebuilding. She said, "Natural disaster is heartless. The Sichuan earthquake had give me a big impact but at the same time let me understand that human is not just living individuals. Although one person's strength is little, if everyone is towards a same goal, there'll be a big effect. And this does not have difference in places."
Even since the earthquake happened, Miriam had been concerned about the development of the matter and found out from some organisations in what ways she could help.
Miriam continued, "On 30th May I participated in a big scale fund-raising event called 'In the Name of Life'. The organiser arranged for a little girl who survived in the earthquake to read out her experience. She appeared on wheelchair because her legs were covered by tiles for too long and lost the feel. What left the most impression on me was, when the rescuers found her but couldn't get her out immediately, she consoled the rescuers and asked them not to worry or be afraid, and even sang the children song 'Two Tigers' for them to hear. I feel she's very brave. Everyone has the will to live. What touches most is young children able to innocently experience life's values in the most direct way. Having seen her positiveness and strength, I told myself, no matted what difficulties I met in the future, I shouldn't give up or feel disheartened."
Like anyone, Miriam doesn't hope for natural disasters to happen. But disasters can witness the power of unity. As a nurse before, she had many feelings especially when she sees the performance of the medical team. If possible, she hopes to use her knowledge and contribute a part. Lastly she said, "This disaster let me understood that in this world, those who have the ability to give, are very fortunate. We should feel happy, and know how to treasure the chance to live and treasure our family. And also do human's part in loving and caring for nature more. Charity comes from love, we are born in the society and should contribute to the society, do our best in caring for others whenever possible. Sichuan post-disaster work is long-term. Other than continue on rebuilding, the taking care of child victims, psychological counseling and education are also very important. Hence I'll be following UNICEF to the affected areas to visit the children and let them feel the love and concern."
To praise Hong Kong people's professional attitude towards their jobs, Commercial Radio organised "Hong Kong Klala!" activity, to encourage retail, tourism + hotel, insurance, property and communications industry. Miriam was invited as "Klala Captain", in charge of singing the theme song.
Recently Miriam filmed the music video for the theme song and the studio was filled with her signature laughter. The theme song's message is to promote the ideal of work hard, play hard in different industries, hence the director found many actors who played roles in different industries to perform together with Miriam, including life-guard, SDU member, postman, doctor, nurse. When Miriam sees the SDU member dancing while holding the props gun, or the life-guard making funny poses, she couldn't help laughing a lot of times, totally displaying the work hard, play hard spirit. Miriam said, "Hong Kong people's work hours are long and have heavy work pressures. Therefore I encourage all employees to find fun in work, and can also go sing karaoke with bunch of colleagues after work."
There are many rumours around Miriam theses days. Some reported she is not happy with Leon Lai, after her contract has expired she would move to work for Edison Chen's company. Another rumour is that Miriam and rumoured boyfriend Real Ding Chi Ko were seen getting out from the car and entering a building together. They even reported them living together.
Miriam was being interviewed by radio Hong Kong yesterday. She stressed that everybody knows she lives with her parents. The building that the magazines described is the residence of her God parents. Real Ding gave her a lift that day.
Nowadays, there are artists who announced who they are dating or getting married, Miriam reckons people should take their relationship and marriage seriously.
She was trying to clear the rumour of moving companies to work for Edison. She said she had given some second hand clothes for Edison to sell for her. The proceeds would go to the charity. She had no intention to move over. This is because her contract with Leon hasn't expired yet, still a long time to go. She also stressed that she wouldn't want to be her own boss. She would rather work for her living. Miriam is planning to record a Rap song with Fama and may put the song in Fama's album. That is probably why their were rumours of her moving companies.
Miriam attended a Poh Leung Kuk event as the ambassador for adopting children. Right after the event, Miriam had to rush to airport to depart for Sichuan visit. Miriam said this visit is 3, 4 days so shouldn't be too tiring. Her previous visit to Sichuan was after the snow disaster. This is her first visit to Sichuan after the earthquake, mainly to visit the children and families. Miriam said her parents are very supportive of her, but when being asked if rumored boyfriend Real Ting is worried, Miriam did not answer directly, "He does charity work and adopted children. I will send forms to friends outside showbiz. (How many children did Mr Ting adopt?) Don't know, never ask. As long as within ability." When asked if Real Ting had reminded her to be careful, Miriam said she's a professional nurse and knows how to take care of herself. When asked when will she get married, Miriam said career is more important and she still has a lot of things undone, hence do not have time to think about marriage, moreover building a family needs lots of time and attention. Reporters said they see that Miriam and Real Ting are good together, Miriam replied, "Still a lot of stories, but country matters are more important."
Miriam was asked to write a short passage for radio prog on crhk903 妹妹的情書 (Sister's Love Letter) and read it out in the show. Below is what she wrote (plus rough translation)...
Friends often discuss ways of looking for happiness. In reality, When we are trying hard to manage the formula of happiness, It's the beginning of losing happiness. However, When we positively and bravely embrace pain and loss, It's the beginning of gaining happiness. Knowing how to balance between gain and loss, Is able to stay long in the world of happiness.
Miriam, Charlie Young and Louis Koo followed UNICEF to visit Sichuan disaster affected areas. Miriam and Louis this old rumor couple appearing in airport caused a lot of tourists to take photos.
Miriam's aim of this trip is to visit the children and to inspect the progress of the rescue work. She has done some research for this trip. As for materials, UNICEF has made the preparations. They also do not wish the rest to bring too many things there, buying at the place itself is more efficient. When asked if Miriam will adopt the Sichuan children, Miriam said as a UNICEF ambassador, she has all along showed her support, but she feels that the elderly also needed care. The government is planning to donate 1 billion dollars to Sichuan victims. Miriam thinks no matter what amount, most importantly is the thought and united spirit of Hong Kong people. She will not examine if it's worth it, and only knows that there are still many projects that need help other than rebuilding.
Miriam attended the promotion event of Shiseido as the "Whitening Ambassador". She introduced her blog that was specially opened for the brand's website and also demonstrated face and eye massage for a model.
Miriam said that after she has entered showbiz, she began to learn more about massages, but she will only do make up and massage for herself and not others. When being asked if she will do massage for her boyfriend, she said, "I do not know these (massage for men), massage is better to be more professional. Furthermore I rely on my face to earn a living so I dare not let others touch my face anyhow because there was once when my skin got sensitive after being touched."
iPhone starts selling in Hong Kong today. Leon Lai received some free iPhone from the telecom company which he has cooperated with many years. When asked Miriam if she has thought of owning one, she said, "I'm not afraid of being old fashion, usually I'll wait for others to buy any new products, but since it's free, I'm also interested to get one from him (Leon), he's best at selling phones. (Will she recommend to Mr. Ting?) I will recommend Shiseido because my customers are all women. (Then will she recommend to his mother?) Of course I will recommend to my own mother!"

Miriam was conned by her friend
Picture: Miriam made more then $100,000 from hand made jewelery
Miriam attended the 深水埗迎奧運綜合晚會 the other night. She disclosed, she disclosed prior to the entertainment circle, she had her own business with a friend. They were selling hand made jewelery, using beads and crystals. It cost only about $ 10 each to make, but sold them for $20-$30 a piece. They made thousands of dollars. The friend told her he had urgent problems at home as a reason to con her $ 100,000 HKG dollars. She is now very careful with money since that bad experience.
FYI: It is a slow song and personally I've got to listen to the whole song already! I LOVE IT! It really reconnected me back to the old Miriam feeling of her songs!!!!! YAY!

Miriam disclosed she was a big fan of (18樓C座) since she was little. She found the boss Mr. Chow a remarkable man. He brought a lot of happiness to so many people in that small community. Miriam wished 18樓C座 happy 40th anniversary. She also hopes the series would continue to speak up for the people in our society.

We had all female judges this year. When the winner was announced, group of western judges swamped up to Michael and gave him lots of kisses. Michael told reporter he won the contest, because he has a lovely smile. Joey Law was surprised when his name was announced, he thought Alan Wan would win the "Youth Champion".
Prior to the result :
Emme Wong wanted Dickson Wong to win as she knows him personally, and he has got a good figure. Christine Ng attended last year Mr. Hk contest and she had so much fun that she had brought with her an oxygen mask in case of emergency. She likes Joey Law because he is shy and she likes shy boy.
Yumiko Cheng likes Alan Wan and Michael, she kept wanting to give them money. Mandy Lieu and Kama Law support Dickson Wong as he is cute. Miss HK Edleweiss Cheung remained cool she would not scream or shout because she has to watch her manner.
Miriam Yeung advocates more resources for music industry Miriam Yeung supports Paco Wong
Picture:Miriam Yeung Yeung at Radio station
Miriam Yeung was at Metro Broadcast Corporation Ltd radio station yesterday. She was there to promote her new album. In response to her previous record company Gold Label Entertainment Ltd took over EMI China/Hong Kong/Taiwan. The new name will be 金牌大風, Miriam expressed that she is very pleased for her former boss Paco Wong. There has been a lot of negative media coverage about Gold Label Entertainment recently. At last it's been sorted. She will support Paco Wong whole heartedly.
At the moment Alan Law and Jolin Tsai, both Taiwan singers are hot. Reporter asked Miriam whether she feels she is under a lot of pressure because of that. She replied " as artist, we always do our best. As long as we can sell record, there will be a market for it." (Will the company recruit more singers from Taiwan?) In fact, if finance is not a problem, I think we should promote local new comers from Hong Kong. Nowadays, the market is not as good as it used to. If a new singer can't sell record, that is the end of it. There are lot of talented singers here in Hong Kong. But they lack the opportunity to develop. We should invest in them and put more resources in Hong Kong to develop the music industry."
Fama invited Miriam to their concert as a special guest. Miriam said that she likes them because they are young. C Kwan teased her, "But I'm not tall, not as tall as Real!" Miriam ignored them and when they thanked each other, she kneeled on the floor. Luk Wing replied, "You don't have to do this to bring out the topic of the next song." They sang Soft Hard and Faye Wong's song "Please do not be polite" together.

Hosting for Mr Hong Kong 2008
It's Miriam's first time hosting for "Mr. Hong Kong Contest 2008" and she was very nervous before the show as she could not make any mistakes. When being asked if she was afraid that she'll lose control when she sees the men in swim wear, she said, "I do worry about getting out of control, it's first time doing 'Mr. Hong Kong', I didn't know the whole audience were female. (Which guy does she think is good?) As a host, I will not give personal opinions. The best Mr. Hong Kong is my Dad and best Miss. Hong Kong is my Mom."

Miriam Yeung: Enlarge her breast size to 38" first Miriam did not have plastic surgery
Picture: Miriam will support Lui Xiang in the Olympic
Miriam Yeung was attending games and an activities with fans yesterday. She took this opportunity to encourage people to do more exercise, and to pay more attention to the Olympic games. Many of her friends have gone to Beijing. She had to stay back to do some commercials in the evening therefore she couldn't go with them. She couldn't even watch the opening ceremony live also. Miriam likes to watch gymnastic, women volleyball, field track and swimming. She particularly wants to watch the women volleyball championship. She felt the team members have worked well together. She will support Liu Xiang 劉翔. Miriam hopes the game would go ahead without any trouble.
Nowadays there are few artists have reportedly had plastic surgery. Even Miriam, she could not escape people's suspicion that she had plastic surgery on her face. This is because her face seemed thinner suddenly. Miriam defended "I don't think it is difficult to lose weight on my face. This is because I have lost weight. When I do a lot of exercise, my face would lose a lot of water, therefore looked thinner." Speaking about the rumor, Miriam responded "If I want to have plastic surgery, I'll have my breast enlargement first. It is very useful. I can wear nice sexy clothes. I don't need to wear a padded bra."
Earlier on in The Mr.HK contest, Miriam was reportedly having a flat chest. She wasn't very happy about it. Miriam was asked what size she wanted to enlarge to? She laughed "I am not greedy. If I can wear size 36" or 38" clothes will be OK with me. If I have plastic surgery, I might as well do the best. (you are not worried about people might find out?) I do that for people to see People go for plastic surgery for different reasons." Miriam reckoned it is important that a person is in proportion. A large breast does not suit her anyway. As artist, it is better to keep fit. Nowadays it costs more to keep fit than to have plastic surgery.
Miriam attended an outdoor radio broadcast activity yesterday and invited Eric Kwok who shares the same birthday as the guest. She thinks it's difficult to find someone born on the same day, month and year. Miriam admitted she'll be filming a China drama in the end of the year, but due to schedule problems she could only shoot 10 episodes. Miriam feels honored to be able to work with Zhang Guoli again after "Wu Shi Lang" (Love At First Fight). It's rumored that she'll be paid $150,000 per episode and Miriam said, "Don't know, but money is not a problem. To have the chance to work with Teacher Zhang, I'll pay him $150,000 for the learning fee!"
When asked if she'll speak Mandarin dialogue or if she needs dubbing, Miriam replied that China is more particular about articulation so even if she speaks Mandarin during filming, there might still be a need for dubbing in the end. Is she worried that she can't attend the music awards show since the drama production is in end of the year? She said the schedule can be arranged. In addition she'll be filming Gordon Chan's new movie in October. She'll do these after finishing her album promotion. On the other hand, Miriam attended a charity concert for Sichuan, and expressed she's still busy recording her new alum and couldn't make time to go for Beijing Olympics opening ceremony so she watched at home. She believed it'll be very touching to see Li Ning live when he lights up the torch. When asked if she doesn't have time for dating since work is busy? She replied, "I don't even have time to eat."

Miriam Yeung continues to renew her contract with TVB Monday August 25, 2008 Hong Kong Source: Mingpao Translated by: kingkongit27 @ asianuniverse.net
In April this year, Miriam Yeung decided to follow Kelly Chen's footsteps and didn't want to renew her contract with TVB. There were rumors stating the reason behind it was because she sat through "TVB Jade Solid Gold Music Awards" last year and only received 1 award the whole night. The 2 big awards "Most Popular Female Singer" and "Asia Pacific Region Most Popular Female Singer" went to Joey Yung and Twins. Therefore Miriam felt very unhappy about the situation and decided not to renew her contract with TVB. However, 4 months later Miriam has started to mend her relationship with TVB and has recently renewed her contract as a TVB artist. She will also be attending this years "JSG Music Awards". It looks like Joey Yung who had no competitors will once again have competition with Miriam Yeung in competing for the "Most Popular Female Singer" award and being the No 1 Pop Queen status.
Contract is handled by Management
Yesterday Miriam attended Commerical radio's "Live Music" conference. The reporter asked her about renewing TVB's contract. She claimed that she didn't know much about it and will have to ask her Management later on to confirm. She says "My contracts have always been handled by my management. Actually, I personally feel what is most important to me is doing a good job in singing and acting, what I worry most in life is not doing the job well enough." (Is it because you had renewed your contract in order to host the "Mr Hong Kong 2008 contest"?) "When TVB executive Ho Lai Chuen visited me in Sichuan while I was meeting up with the earthquake victims, he asked me whether I was interested. He said because I gave people a happy impression and was often laughing that I was most suitable to host the show. Actually, I feel the work I have received from TVB has always been Okay."
Miriam, Jan Lamb, Fama and Eric Kwok are holding "08 Music Is Live 2nd show" at Asia Expo on 20th September. Other than Jan Lamb who was not in Hong Kong, the rest attended the press conference. Miriam and Eric, Luk Wing and C Kwan exchanged t-shirts.
Miriam expressed that in this show, they will do things that they have not done before. Hence she'll dance Waltz with Eric Kwok while the singing parts are left for Jan Lamb. Miriam said that there's lots of things she had not tried, like doing Fama's rap. She might play the drums and instruments that she hasn't learned. "It's really like a triathlon, like gymnastics. I hope to achieve Gold medal standard." Previously when she was guest for Fama's concert, the 2 made fun of her rumor. Miriam said she's also prepared they will talk about her this time, but she's fine if the atmosphere is good.
There's news saying because Miriam did not renew her contract with TVB previously, her popularity dropped. So she had to renew her contract recently to have TVB as a strong backing. Miriam said the 2 most important contracts in her life is the management contract and singer contract. After signing this 2 contracts, she'll leave other matters to her manager. She joked, "therefore I'm very willing to let people earn my 20% commission." Miriam said that doing good movies and singing good songs are her real market values. She's only worried she hasn't done good enough, and other things she won't care. Some said she hosted Mr Hong Kong because she renew her contract with TVB. Miriam replied she was being invited by He Liquan long ago to be the host. That time was when she returned after a charity visit with her, she was being asked if she was interested. That time she hasn't signed on TVB. When asked if she feels her popularity dropped when she didn't sign on TVB, she replied "popularity comes when there's appearance for work. There's no standard for popularity. Most importantly is to have quality in work and the audience like it. If I appear very often just for sake of popularity, I'm afraid people will lose appetite."

Hong Kong actress and singer Miriam Yeung spent a memorable night with music fans at the "Moov Live" concert, which kicked off on Wednesday night.
The small-scale concert with the theme of "Aloha", a traditional Hawaiian greeting, helped create a joyful atmosphere. Surf boards decorated the stage, and all the people at the concert were given flowers as gifts.
To match the stage setting, Miriam Yeung and her band members also wore colorful Hawaiian-style clothing.
The versatile singer sang 9 songs, including 6 new songs that appeared to go over well with her enthusiastic fans.
Miriam Yeung denies Olympic Gold medallist Lin Dan rejecting her
Miriam Yeung and Lin Dan
Miriam Yeung who had renewed her contract with TVB had immediately been given the opportunity to perform in the "Olympic Gold Medallists Performance Show". She sang Andy Lau's "Everyone is No.1" with all the Olympic gold medallist athletes. But her singing had led to criticism as netizens stated she mimed in her performance and they also didn't like her being chosen to sing with all the athletes. Yesterday, a magazine reported Miriam deliberately approaching Gold medallist Badminton player Lin Dan backstage. She complimented him for his good looks and invited him out. However Lin Dan rejected her request. The report also said that Miriam's face looked slimmer than before and claimed she was having Botox injections.
She responded to the magazine reports and said she felt honored to have been able to celebrate with the China Gold Medallists and Hong Kong citizens. "That day was one of the most memorable days of my life, I think all of the Gold medallist athletes were outstanding and I was just one of the perfomers." Miriam stressed that all she wanted to do was sing a song to encourage all of the Gold medalist athletes.
"I will not use Botox injections, I don't want to be surrounded by the magazine negative rumors or gossip. Honestly, to be on the magazine cover it means they admire me, I should really Thank them for that." As for reported deliberately approaching and inviting Lin Dan out but rejected, Miriam laughs "If I was allowed to speak to him, the first thing I would request is for him to be my master and learn badminton".

Miriam has no time for Real Ding
Miriam is used to working during festive seasons
Miriam Yeung was working during Mid-autumn Festival. Miriam expressed that since she had entered the entertainment world, she spent most of her time working during festive seasons. She told reporters that teochew people don't celebrate Mid-autumn Festival early, so she couldn't even have dinner at home with family. Asked if she had spent time with Real Ding, Miriam replied "Artists don't have time for festivals, no time for friends either. I don't even have time to see my parents, never mind about a boyfriend."
Singtao Daily Interview: Miriam's New Habit is Running
Few years ago, Miriam fell sick during her concert period and had seven days of steroid injection which resulted in sequelae of often having a swollen face. Miriam underwent a year of Chinese medical treatment and though there have been improvements to her condition, the result is still not ideal. Until last year when she held a concert again, she hoped to have a great body like Madonna during her show and got to know some friends who run marathons. Miriam started a healthy exercise, that is to run an hour every day.
She admitted, "At first it's really difficult. Luckily just before the concert, costumes measurements will not have too much changes, I had to weigh myself everyday and will be scolded once I'm heavier. This created a chance for me to overcome the difficulty. As you know, I have really never been like some stars who are really slim when performing on stage. The fashion designer also told me the reason for being slim is not only for wearing less clothes, but also to look better when wearing tight clothes. Later on it's because running can really help me reduce weight and swelling of face due to the sequelae of steroids injection and therefore I gradually fell in love with running."
Running has also become Miriam's habit. She'll spend time running no matter how much work she has. Other than reducing weight, she can relieve work stress by running. Running has let her become more energetic as well. She revealed that she'll run in the marathon for "UNICEF" in October, "I used to be on the stage as prize giving guest during marathon events. This year there should be an exchange in roles."
Everyone will have a dream they hope to fulfill, or even more than one dream. Miriam is like everyone else, hoping to take a cruise to tour Europe and to have a adventurous journey in North Pole. But due to her busy work, these dreams will have to wait till she retires in order to fulfill.
Miriam has liked movies like "Poseidon" and "Titanic", and hence developed interest in touring on cruise. She has been hoping to save money and experience the joy of taking cruise. But today, though she has earned the money, it's impossible for her to take 20 days of leave from her company. "I like to do things that I've never tried before. I really would like to take the cruise to Italy's Venice to appreciate it's charm, as well as experiencing the life and culture in Eastern Europe."
Another place that Miriam hopes to tour is North Pole. She knows this dream is harder to achieve as the weather there is ever-changing and is challenging human's limits. "I can see huge ice floes there and see I can spot polar bears and Northern Lights. These all rare chances in life. But to realize this dream, I really have to wait till I retire, haha! I wonder if global warming will make all ice to melt in North Pole!"
Traveling is one of Miriam's favorite pastime. To travel to places with lesser Chinese can let her put down her identity as a celebrity and play freely, relieve all stress deep in the heart, be relaxed and be able accept and face future challenges.
To have a dream tour, most people will like to take on with a love partner, but Miriam's the opposite. "If going to North Pole, it'll be a difficult trip and of course shouldn't be just 2 people going. Will have to get a big group so that other than taking care of each other, more people can share and try different food. It'll probably turn dark before 5pm over there, so with more people we can play Mahjong at night to kill time!"
Mid-autumn festival
When Miriam attended a show at Shatin, she wore a pair of gold sandals. The sandals were given by Edison Chen. But before she went on stage to perform, she switched to a pair of heels. She expressed later, "There's no reason to wear a pair of sandals on stage. But this pair of shoes are hot now in the auction bays, very valuable!"
She will be having dinner with her family during mid-autumn festival, "I had to rush home for dinner with family right after the show because my brother had just returned from abroad. My family is very particular about having meals together during mid-autumn and winter. (She couldn't reunite with Real Ting this day?) I don't think of such things. Rather sleep if I have time."
"See You Tomorrow" HD MV
Miriam shot the music video in HD for "See You Tomorrow". The director portrayed modern love as Game Computer Graphic, making lovers into CG characters that can be controlled with PS3.
In the MV, Miriam is unhappy in love and often thinks of her lover. When she's bored, she'd play games. When she saw the couple characters on TV, she used the controller to separate them and controls their fate. The MV will be premiered on PS3's HiTV channel on 11th Sept.

Miraim did not complain about her boss
Miriam's new album is due to release tomorrow. Earlier, it was reported that she was not very happy with "A Music company" because they haven't done any marketing or promotion for her overseas market. She had thought about the South East Asia market, but did not get the approval from boss Mr Lam. Miriam had reportedly complained about it.
Miriam dispelled the rumor yesterday. "I complained about my boss? How could I? Don't frighten me! Just like Leon said before 'don't fight your left hand with your right'. I only know how to move forward. I won't step my right foot with my left." Miriam stressed that she has a good relationship with the record company. "Mr. Lam and Leon are very good to me. Leon put a lot of efforts into my new album. He even got Joey to be the cover girl as well as taking some songs to Korea." Miriam has received a lot of orders for her new album and she is very happy about it.
