Miriam was invited to Hunan TV to record a show. The host carried out three cardboards of Ronald Cheng, Daniel Wu and Tony Leung Chiu Wai and asked Miriam to pick one as her new boyfriend. Miriam picked Tony without hesitation.

Miriam at Radio Interview

Miriam accepted a radio interview. Due to a production problem, her new album that was supposed to be released last week was delayed to the 26th.

Miriam Prepares for Upcoming CRHK 903 "Music is Live" Concert

Miriam brought along her new album to rehearsal with Jan Lamb, Fama and Eric Kwok for CRHK's Music Is Live show. There are rumors of Miriam not wanting to stay in Leon Lai's company and wanted to switch to Lin Jianyue's East Asia. Miriam said, "I don't know anything and I've clarified I never thought of going over to Mr. Lin's company." Music is Live 08: Miriam, Jan, Fama, Eric

Miriam, Jan Lamb, Fama and Eric Kwok performed in CRHK's "Music Is Live 08 show 2". They performed some fast tracks together, followed by individual solos. Miriam was the last performer and presented hot dances, doing high difficulty acts like somersaults with the male dancers. Miriam said she has not tried doing such difficult dances since 20 years and was breathless when singing even slow songs like "A Girl's Prayer". Towards the end of the show, Jan, Fama and Eric hide under Miriam's yellow dress as an exit but don't know who stepped on Miriam and nearly caused her to fall.

After the show, Miriam said she had already made safety precautions under her dress. She said she had danced a whole year's dances just in one night. When she knew she'll be singing a slow song right after dancing, she had already drank Chinese medicine to improve her breathe but she was still panting.

A magazine reported Miriam going to Real Ting's house to seduce him. Miriam replied, "I would also like to know who to seduce! They (magazines) are so poor, have to make up stories like writing pornography." Miriam said there were 2 other friends who went there that night. They went to Real Ting's house because they have to change vehicles and go karaoke pub later on. Miriam's Lastest Album "Wonder Miriam" Sold Over 20,000 Copies

Miriam's new album has been sold over 20000 copies. Leon Lai spent money to buy a full page advertisement on many papers, breaking the rumors of them being on bad terms. Leon will also organize concerts for Miriam next year February in Shanghai, and next year end in Hong Kong.

Miriam looks rejuvenated and denied it is because of nourishment from love. Miriam to release a Mandarin Album around end of the Year

Miriam, Eason Chan, Huang Zheng and Chen Kun performed in Shanghai for the Johnny Walker show. Miriam reminded, "Don't forget, I'm actually a singer."

Her good friend Eason is already a big name in the Chinese music scene and Miriam is still fighting for her singer identity, "Eason released Mandarin songs earlier so people are very familiar with his songs. I have fewer Mandarin songs. Actually, we started out from the same singing competition."

Even though Miriam's music awards are being presented by Hong Kong's top four media stations, China fans are actually familiar about her music as well. Worldwide financial crisis affected celebrities a lot as well. Real admitted Miriam has met his parents

Miriam was invited to perform in a concert in Shanghai the other day. But when the concert had finished, she decided to stay there for one more day. Miriam Celebrates Good Album Sales

Miriam's 2nd album in Amusic "Wonder Miriam" has already obtained Gold award in sales. The record company held a celebration dinner and presented her a Gold album award. Leon Lai and Lin Jianyue were there at the celebration too. Miriam said, "With such good results, I don't mind the rumors of bad terms continue. Miriam Would Like to Play the Role of a Bond Girl

Miriam is the ambassador for the Asia Games Exhibition 2008. The previous ambassadors were all heavenly kings and queens like Kelly Chen, Aaron Kwok, Leo Ku and Sammi Cheng. CRHK's Billboard awards will be held next year 1st Jan at Asia Expo. The theme this year is "Family". Singers were grouped to different themes of families. The most special one was "Newcomer Family" formed by Miriam, Eason Chan, Denise Ho, Wilfred Lau, Deep Ng and Jason Chan, who wore school uniforms. There have been rumous of Denise Ho acting like the big sister when planning to form "Capital Artists Alumni" and caused Miriam and Eason to be unhappy. The three chatted and laughed at yesterday's press con. However, Denise's uniform were different from Miriam, Eason and Wilfred.

Eason explained that Wilfred and Miriam went to buy the uniforms and Denise was in a meeting and couldn't be contacted, therefore did not buy hers. Miriam denied being on bad terms with Denise. She expressed she's over 30 years old and feels weird to wear a uniform. This year she will attend awards show casually but still has confidence in her songs and felt the songs Leon Lai had picked are not bad. Miriam represented UNICEF to receive a charity cheque from Vivian Chow to help education of China girls.

Earlier on Miriam went to Qinghai to visit some cases. The women there didn't go hospital to give birth but mostly gave birth at home and resulted in paralyzed babies. Therefore Miriam calls for women to know how to protect themselves. When being asked how she will protect herself in relationship areas, she said, "there's no protection in this area, it's life experience to become mature."

Miriam said her friends like Eason Chan and Astrid Chan have been telling her about their kids and made her began to start thinking about giving birth. Miriam attended Mingpao's anniversary party even though she's sick. She said that she has already seen the doctor but had to take 3 jabs due to sensitive trachea. She had to shoot the music video for her mandarin song in the afternoon for 6, 7 hours straight, hence felt a bit tired. She'll be going to Beijing end of this month to film the drama "Ji Xiao Lan 4" with Zhang Guoli. She admits feeling a bit stress, "There are quite a bit of fighting scenes. I'll be disguising as a guy again because my role opens a 'Biao Ju'(security courier services)." As Beijing's weather will be cold, Miriam prepared to bring thermal packs, heater and mobile toilet. She estimates to film 10 days there and come back Hong Kong to attend awards shows and then return to continue filming in Beijing.

Dining With Stars awards presentation

A special magazine promoting Hong Kong fine cuisine "Dining With Stars" held an awards presentation to commemorate 50 restaurants. Miriam was invited to promote for charity auction segment "Cuisine of the World".

MIriam admits she's not the skinny type of female celebrity and this shows she likes to eat, "Female celebs must really have courage to eat. I've tried most of the award-winning restaurants tonight!(Since she likes to eat, will she participate in the auction?) Very expensive, the starting price is $388,888. Should ask my boss(Lin Jianyue) to bid and treat all staff, haha!" Other than eating, MIriam recently is learning cooking, including fried crab and curry chicken, and her family will be the food tasters, "My skills are worth 70 points.(Has her boyfriend tried before?) Miriam and Astrid Chan went to Qinghai to visit the women and children there. They attended a press con to share their experience and when interview clips were shown, they were not only crying in the clips but also nearly cried as they were watching the clips.
Miriam could all along control her emotions and rarely cried during interviews but this time when she saw Astrid who's also a mother, cried out, she also couldn't help but cried. She knows having a child is not a simple thing and understands her mum's care and concern for her. Miriam said the people's medical knowledge there is not enough but they only stayed 6 days for this trip and could only teach them simple knowledge. For example she taught a villager with Muscle atrophy to massage her muscles often to prevent them from Muscle necrosis. Astrid also praised Miriam for displaying her medical knowledge is this trip, and looked like she had a nurse hat on her head. Miriam said this trip made her feel deeply the parents' hardships. She said Astrid had told her to have babies while she's still young but Miriam said she doesn't have time. Now she'll help others first. Her ex-assistant who's married in Africa had called her to say she's going to have a baby and Miriam taught her how to deal with it. Miriam Yeung would like her future wedding banquet in Hong Guan

Miriam attended a function for "Wonder Miriam Signing Event" organized by APM yesterday. At the event Miriam explained that she was fully booked for work until November next year, she carried on by saying that this meant she needed to concentrate on her work and not to talk about getting married because recently many people have asked her when she will get married. Miriam stated that she wanted to get married when she was 25, 26 years old but when she was 30 years old a lot of her friends were getting divorced so she changed her mind on this matter and now she is letting "nature takes it's cause". Miriam spoke plainly on the matter that when she got married in the future she would like to have her wedding banquet in The Hong kong Coliseum (Hong Guan). She added that she wanted to organize a Mahjong competition during the banquet.

Speaking about the internet users swearing at Edison Chan in an online radio, Miriam responded by saying that she wouldn't make any comment, but a lot of children would be listening to the arguments. Therefore there should not be any swearing in the program.

Miriam expressed her views on the rumours associated with the return of Bobo Chan to Hong Kong. She said that she will try to contact Bobo herself.

Miriam was called Auntie in the 10 km charity run
Monday December 1, 2008 Hong Kong

Miriam took part in the 10 km charity run for United Nations Children's Charity Run 2008 聯合國兒童基金會慈善跑 yesterday. Ekin also entered for the race, but he was injured so he couldn't take part. Miriam had raised $65,000 HKD. During the race, a girl (mixed race) said to her " Auntie hurry up!." Miriam was laughing in her heart and she was stunned. "I told myself I pretend I didn't hear her. Miriam Yeung is well prepared to prevent catching AIDS

Miriam attended the "2008 World Aids Day" activities yesterday. She has been telling people ways of preventing the spread of aids in the internet since 1999, such as regular check up and safe sex. Asked what is the best method to prevent the spread of aids? Miriam said "I tell people what I would do for myself to prevent the spread of aids."

Kary Ng disclosed that she was prejudice against the aids sufferers before. But when she grew up and educated in the US, she had experienced prejudice herself and, she found it most intolerable. Asked what she would do to prevent the spread of aids? She said "certainly, I have safe method, it is my responsibilty." Eric Suen was asked what method he used since he always out at night? He reolied" It's none of my business. In future when I get married, I would go with my wife for a check up. But I haven't got a girl friend yet. I became a Christian 3 weeks ago. I won't have sex before marriage. I will use my energy to concentrate in music and let off steam by doing exercise."

Miriam Yeung, Louis Koo, Charlie Yeung and Raymond Lam etc were at the Harbor City for the fund raising for " Hong Kong Leukemia fund: warm wool scarf love" 香港血癌基金暖羊羊愛心頸巾. Each artist designed their own scarf for auction to raise fund. Louis designed a black scarf with white sheep head pattern at both end, looking like a sheep sitting down. Louis revealed that there was a story behind that design. He was filming in the mainland some time ago. He didn't realized that it was a very cold winter. His fans quickly knitted him a wool scarf. He was very touched for his fans hugh (warmth) effort through the little scarf.

Miriam designed a purple scarf. She expressed that smart people would knit scarf. She had knitted a scarf as a birthday present for a friend. Her friend was so happy and was touched. Charlie had only one simple sentence to describe her design, that is "Wish this fat warm scarf can deliver the love and warm and happiness to you."

Miriam returned from Beijing to Hong Kong to attend Yahoo! Buzz Awards Presentation. She was filming "Ji Xiao Lan 4" in Beijing and the weather was very cold from -8 to -10 degrees. We wore 3 pants, 4 tops plus a jacket everyday while working and joked that now she understands Little Dragon Girl's feeling when sleeping on the "ice bed".

Later on, Miriam will be attending "East Asia Capital Artists Concert". When mentioned Sammi Cheng and Andy Hui do not wish to be arranged to sing together to avoid becoming the focus and being unfair to other singers, Miriam is very supportive of them performing together, "They are a classic match, Capital Artist's golden boy and girl and can bring memories to people. Denise Ho's charity fund held a charity exhibition "The Ten Days Of Christmas" at Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday, selling a series of products to raise funds. Other than her parents, a bunch of good friends including Miriam, Ivana Wong, Wilfred Lau and Shawn Yue showed support at the opening ceremony.

Miriam praised Denise for doing a meaningful thing, "I saw Denise's parents came down to handle things at the exhibition personally, therefore I'll support physically and financially!"

East Asia Capital Artists Concert was held at Asia Expo. The hall was 80% filled. Miriam, Andy and Denise sang together for the opening, Sammi was the last to perform.

Miriam wore tube dress and bare back dress, appearing on stage 4 times. She said, "I feel this is the rebirth of Capital Artists, really thankful to Mr Lin, who let me progress from 'A Girl's Prayer' to 'A Woman's Prayer'. Thank everyone who supports Capital Artists, making it reborn!"

When videos of Norman Law, Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung were played, Miriam, Denise, Sammi, Andy and other singers sang their classic oldies as a tribute. Andy said he had lots of memories that night, "When Miriam was singing 'The Wolf Has Come', I remembered it was the time when I worked hard the most, the people who was sitting next to me, talking to me, and those who were my best friends!" Sammi replied, "That's me!"

Jade Solid Gold Awards Presentation held it's press conference at Kowloon Bay Emax yesterday. Miriam was being teased by Eric Tsang for winning nothing every year. Miriam wasn't unhappy about it but see it as a motivation to sing better. She revealed the last time she received the Most Popular Female Singer award was 6 years ago but she isn't discouraged and is driven more instead. She joked that she has waited from "A Girl's Prayer" to a woman and deserves a spirit award. She's confident and will do her best.

During East Asia Capital Artists Concert, Miriam and Denise Ho often teased Andy Hui and Sammi Cheng and let them become the focus. Andy also made fun of the two's rumours, "Classmate Yeung, why are you so nervous, it seems that you're together with next class's Ting..." Miriam replied, "I've been with Doraemon(Ting Dong) for very long, one family with Ting Lek(character in Shanghai Bund)."

At the celebration dinner, Miriam expressed she doesn't mean being teased, "I felt he forgot his lines. I have Doraemon and Denise has Yung Kam Cheung, most importantly is to be happy." Miriam Yeung attended the opening ceremony for "Gucci" Shop in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday. Real Ding (Ding Dong) was also there. The two tried to avoid taking pictures together. Miriam said "Ding Dong has gone back to thge fairy tales. I am only a maid now." She said when she goes to Edmund's wedding banguet tonight, "They would let me have the bouquet of flowers."

Miriam stressed that she is not desperate to get married. "Getting married is not a trendy thing, it is about feelings. I still have a goal in my career that I haven't achieved. Anyway it is all fate." Asked if it is because Real hasn't proposed? Miriam said " I pray my voice gets better soon." Miriam went on to say Denise Ho and Sammi Cheng are still single, she suggested they club together to buy an appartment for them as an investment for old age.

TV recording & Edmond's wedding

Miriam attended the TV recording for "Countdown 500 Days to World Expo Concert" and wore 6inches high heels. She expressed she wore it as a form of respect to the event and therefore she needed to be very careful when walking. Miriam is filming new drama in Beijing lately and the production team let her come back to Hong Kong for the recording and attending music awards shows.

Miriam prepared a pair of cups and cash as gift to Edmond Leung's wedding. She hopes they were use the cup every year during their wedding anniversary. When asked if she's worried Edmond will be drunk? Miriam said, "He has asked all friends to help him drink. I also don't wish him to get drunk and forget the happy moments. But I feel even if there's people who help him drink, he'll still get drunk, try the best to not make him too drunk!"

Asia Games Expo opening ceremony

Miriam wore all black and attended the opening ceremony of Asia Games Expo 2008. Her new music video was played and she took photo with a huge doll. A half-naked handsome model presented "Games Queen" Award to Miriam. Miriam said, "I wore a 7inches high boots and nearly sprained my foot. Have to be careful when walking!" She likes to play majong game during pastime. When asked if her rumoured boyfriend Real Ting is her game opponent, she refused to answer, "I like to play single! You ask him yourselves!"

When mentioned Edmond Leung's wedding, Miriam felt that when the 2 signed the marriage certificate touched her the most. Did she get the bride's flowers? She replied, "Eric Tsang kept asking me to go fight for it so I just joined the fun. The bride threw twice, in the end Denise Ho got it."

Miriam Yeung received 4 Metro Hits Awards. She doesn't find Kay threathening; in fact, she thinks it is a good thing. She reckoned the music industry should not be under the monopoly of only a few singers. She said "When Kay was receiving her award; I saw Louis Cheung (Kay's husband) was looking at her, he was so sweet. I was so touched. (Do you find Kay a threat since she has done so well this year?) Judge for AVEX 2008 HK Competition

Miriam was the judge for AVEX 2008 World Performing New Stars Competition for Hong Kong. The winner will represent Hong Kong and compete with participants from Malaysia and China. The champion will have a chance to go Japan for training.

Miriam feels that the standards of the contestants are very high. She thinks it's important for artistes to have potential. She praised a 18 years-old contestant for being outstanding. When asked if she has any potential waiting to be discovered? She said, "a lot, like singing fast songs. Japan has a lot of training programmes for artistes. I'd like to go for training. I wasn't so smart when I participated in competition last time." She said she has been fighting with herself all these years in this line, "for so many years, I've won myself and have more patience now."

There were reports of Denise Ho and Joey Yung showing black face towards Kay Tse at Metro Radio Awards celebration dinner. Miriam said, "I don't think so. We are all friends." She said there will definitely be such news during this time, either bad relations or marriage, and joked it's okay to help fill up columns.

As for Kay Tse being on par with her for getting 4 awards, Miriam said she didn't research as too many awards were given out, most importantly is everyone's happy. When asked if she's scared that "CRHK My Favourite Female Singer" will be snatched by Kay, Miriam hasn't thought about it and doesn't mind, "awards presentations are summaries of the year, there's winning and losing just like shares, you can't say you've lost as long as you hasn't sell." Anita Mui Memorial Exhibition

Some reports said that CRHK changed it's airplay calculations from 50 weeks to 51 weeks in order to let Kay Tse win the female singer gold award. Miriam attended "Larger Than Life Anita Mui Memorial" Exhibition and responded, "Have to find an auditor to find out. I do not have knowledge in this area and my brain has only feelings for new year. I'm busy lately searching for pest control company and buying ingredients to make rice cake with my mum. Hence I only know there's still 4 weeks to Chinese New Year." The reports also said that it's suspicious why Miriam can get "My Favourite Female Singer" award for 3 years when she did not have any song awards. Miriam said, "Audience and net voting began 10 years ago. Just like choosing husband, pick who you like, nothing to do with songs."

Miriam also revealed what she misses most was Anita's support during days in Capital Artists. "Mui-jey was concerned and asked a colleague if my song 'The Wolf Has Come' would win an award. I'm very touched when I knew about this from my colleague later on. Ut's happier to receive her support than awards." Miriam was on a radio interview together with Anita and she taught her that a girl should learn how to judge people. When asked which guy was she together with that time, Miriam replied, "I forgot. But she was not only referring to love, and also work."

Miriam wore a tuxedo to attend CRHK Awards Presentation. Miriam said, "I was born without good figure. I think it's a fortune to be able to be revealing. It'll be a big matter if there's nothing to see even when revealed!"

Miriam only won one award but she's already very satisfied and able to answer to the record company and Leon Lai. When Jan Lamb presented the award to her, he introduced her as from "A Girl's Prayer" to "a middle woman". Miriam responded generously, "I don't think it's an embarrassing thing. Every failure means a step towards success. Very happy to be still sitting in the first row. This is a good evidence that it's not considered losing as long as I'm still in the music scene. It'll really be a lost if there's no seat."

2008 Jade Solid Gold Awards Presentation was held on 3rd January 2009 at Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition Centre. The "Most Popular Singer" awards goes to Leo Ku and Miriam respectively. Miriam broke Joey Yung's record of winning 5 years consecutively, and regained this award after 6 years. Miriam cried while giving her thank you speech, becoming the most touching scene of the night. This shows that this award is very meaningful to her. Miriam has been a hardworking artiste all along. Other than successfully hosted Mr Hong Kong Contest early 2008, and released a good selling album, her song "Man Who Scoops The Moon" also received good comments. Hence this award is the result of her hard work.

Leo Ku and Miriam Breaks Down in Tears, Thank Loved Ones @ JSG

The third results ceremony for Hong Kong’s music industry, TVB’s Jade Solid Gold Award Ceremony, took place last night at Star’s Hall. The results of the night coincided with the ceremony’s theme - ‘changing to a new era’ (改朝換代) , with Leo Ku and Miriam Yeung ‘s surprise win over Eason Chan and Joey Yung, to take home the ‘Most Popular Male and Female Singers’ respectively.
The popularity level of Leo Ku’s songs this year were average , so it came as a shock for all when he was presented with this award for the first time. Likewise Miriam Yeung, who last won the award 6 years ago in 2002 and had since failed to steal the award from Joey Yung’s iron grasp, was so overcome with emotion that she broke down in tears on stage.
When realizing that she had no chance in winning the Most Popular Female Singer Award after it was announced that she was the recipient of Asia’s Most Popular Female Singer Award, Joey Yung looked both disappointed and shocked. As for Eason Chan, who consequently lost the chance of being named the Most Popular Male Singer Award, after winning the Asia’s Most Popular Male Singer; he was expressionless and refused to look straight at Leo Ku as he performed.
At last night’s award ceremony, both Leo Ku and Miriam Yeung broke down in tears during their acceptance speeches for the Most Popular Male and Female Awards. During his speech, for the first time in public, Leo Ku thanked his ‘always behind him supporting him’ rumoured girlfriend and assistant, Lorraine. To his girlfriend of over 15 years, Leo Ku expressed, “I thank TVB, I started my career from TVB’s acting classes. If there was no TVB, there wouldn’t be me. I thank Gold Label, Paco, Lin Xi, my fans and I must especially thank a person. Years ago, when I had just entered the industry and won the newcomer award , I forgot to thank her on stage. When I returned backstage, she told me to thank her when I win the most popular male singer award. After that, the days passed one by one, I experienced having no record company, disappearing from the industry and not knowing whether I would have a chance to return to the stage and accept an award. Denise Ho supports Joey Yung and Miriam Yeung

Denise Ho was in Tsim Sha Tsui exhibition hall for a name signing event for her "10 days talk" DVD as well as the "10 days talk" short documentary closing ceremony yesterday. CONGRATS TO MIRIAM!

I was so surprised and shocked when she got that award from TVB. I did not see that coming, BUT I am SO HAPPY & GLAD that she won!

I just want to give her a BIG HUG! I could tell from her expression as to how SHOCKED she was.

She simply just gave the best acceptance speech, along with Leo... So that was the HIGHLIGHT of the night for me!

Wish her the best for 2009! Hope she will win this award again...

Miriam @ JSG Awards Celebration

Miriam went attended the celebration dinner organised by her record company after JSG awards show. Lin Jianyue and Leon Lai were present to congratulate her.

When Leon and Lin Jianyue were leaving, Miriam sent them out personally. Leon praised her result as "very worthy". When taking group photo, Miriam grabbed Fama's Luk Wing's arms and joked he is her rumoured boyfriend.

Miriam was surprised at the result, "At first I thought Eric Tsang was teasing me. That moment was overly excited! My mind was blank, happier than the first time winning it." As for saying her winning is improbable, she said, "It's okay, most important thing is to be happy. This award is an encouragement to my career. Firecrackers send off the old year! Miriam Filming in Beijing

Miriam is filming "Ji Xiao Lan 4" in Beijing now and is playing a swordswoman with high martial arts skills. Her co-stars are Zhang Guoli, Zhang Tielin and Wang Gang, whose dramas received high ratings when telecasted in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This drama was appointed to be broadcasted by TVB's Run Run Shaw himself. Miriam also hopes to open the China market with this drama.

As the weather is very cold in Beijng, about -10 degrees, Miriam shivered in cold in the 14 hours of work daily. She said, "It' really more tiring than singing. I'm a swordswoman in the show so will have to fight all day. I've tried using a water pot as weapon, but the water turned into ice strips when they flown out. I slipped and fell because the whole floor was spilt with ice. My foot was sprained and hands were scratched."

Miriam said she has been learning boxing and is therefore agile and flying kick is not a problem. In the cold weather, Miriam sticked thermal packs all over her body, "Luckily the costumes are big and loose so I can wear many layers of clothes underneath." She revealed that she'll be going to Japan later for promoting skin care products.

Right after "JSG Awards Presentation", Miriam had to go Beijing the next day for filming. Some said she was supposed to go on JSG's programme with other award-winning singers, but was absent because she's afraid to be booed by Joey's fans. Miriam responded, "This is definitely a misunderstanding. I had been trying to work out my schedule to attend but the team in Beijing said the booking of the studio couldn't be changed and we have to finish filming by deadline. I definitely wasn't afraid or avoiding anyone."

Miriam doesn't believe that Joey's fans will booed her, "If travelled such long distance to booed me, I should also be touched. As what Mr Lai(Leon) said, voices no matter in what forms, are still a form of support."
