Finally finished watching it. It must be one of the most engrossing series of all time, albeit a little bit on the slow side. Most of the series was seeing how bad will gallen low become (quite bad for those who haven't seen it)...without a doubt gallen is one of the best villians of all time, imo paralleing adam cheng as ding hai. What are your thoughts of it?

I loved this series. I thought it was one of TVB best big cast show which was very popular in the 80's and the 90's which we don't see often anymore. Based on a wealthy family which of course features a bad apple in the basket.

I really like Nadia Chan so for me it was a great series. It's unfortunate she doesn't seem to do any more great big production series anymore. Although the pairing of Chi-Lam and Nadia was to me not as great as the pairing of Ekin and Nadia. Ekin Cheng and Nadia Chan I always thought had great chemistry together. I'd love to see these two act together again. I recommend you see "Knot to Treasure" or "Instinct" - if you like Ekin or Nadia.

this series is really great. Somehow, I don't enjoy any modern series that much after thi series. Previously, I really like modern series that concentrate on business, revenge and stuff like this but ATE or golden faith, or whatsoever are of no good.

The cast is very solid. Gallen Lo gained his reputation and became a big star from this series. He got TVB award on that year if I remember correctly. Anyway, I really appreciated Chilam's job. He is the actor who has the best crying skill!!!!! The scene when he cried after the death of Jessica's character is sooooo touching. I swear I've never seen any actor has this great crying skill. I love his chemistry with Nnadia Chan as well. They are so cute together. Sadly, they don't have much screentime together.

The story is quite draggy at first (quite weird huh!). I don't really like the story about Adam Cheung and his own wife. However, it keeps better and better. Once Gallen turned evil, the story is really exciting.

The thing that I don't get is how gallen seemd to be in control all the time, right up to the very last moment. He might have lost everything, but he was still untouchable. It almost seemed fate had a sudden change of heart to punish what he has done. Yeah, and there's heaps of positives from this series, which some of you guys have extrapolated on. Unfortunate thing was some of the cast was underused...

Don't really like nadia. She seems to talk like a kid. And chilam can cry all right

Did gallen always play the bad guy before this series?

Gallen played a bad guy in Vengeance with Deric Wan and Irene Wan. Gallen was very evil in that. He did a great job as he also did in CHWB. What a versatelle actor.

Not really, he played villain in Vengeance and ambition. In ambition, he played the leading role though but he's so evil. He sarcrificed all women that loved him to achieve his goal.

But he did play good roles too such as looking back into the anger (he's Carina's fiance) or the series that Eddie Cheung is his co-star. Eddie was good-turn-bad prince no. 4. I can't recall its name though. However, his acting is so stiff at that time. He's so wooden!!! But then once he played villain, his acting skill improved tremendously.

I can only remember Gallen being a reallie nasty villian in this series.. And what ever happened to Nadia? Did she and Chi-lam end up together?

Looking only at the first half of the series, i think its one of the best TVB productions of all time, but in the second half, the plot collapsed. I also thought Nadia Chan didn't fit the role. She cannot make a good sad expression, she just shakes her head as though shes about to have a seizure. Gallen Lo was incredible as always. No less about Hsuen Huen and Cheung Chi Lam.

Yup gallen was really nasty I'm not sure what happened with Nadia I will ask my friend.

I like Jessica Husan, she is so young and cute. Too bad she can't forget Gallen, i prefer her with Julian, they look so cute. Hate Nadia's character, hehe don't know why. I think she is better with Louis Koo, he did so much for her.

I like Adma the most, he is always handsome hehehe. But why does he always love christine Ng, she left him to marry an other guy, and when this guy die, she just return to date Adam! Grr i wish he will end up with the woman who has a daughter. But anyway, Adam still end up with Christine

Gallen dies at the end, when they are in the airport toilet. Nadia was blind but then she gets healed in America, and she reunites back at the wishing tree.

I thought this series was awesome, Gallen's character was so evil. But I'm not sure whether Adam and Christine's character should be together though, because of the huge age gap.

i like the Adam & Christine pairing, i like her better than with that laywer dude! i'm glad Julian got together with Nadia!

i liked Jessica's character, but she kinda turned weird towards the end before she dies, she was so afraid and fragile, i though her character was stronger than that, but given the circumstances you couldn't blame her!

This serie is one of the best Tvb serie I watched with great cast and storyline. Gallen was so evil here but he was good at it really enjoyed his performance.

I really like this series...at least up to the point when history has been change and turned Flora's character into a villian.

I love this series. It was one of my favorite series. I love the characters. Gallen was so good being the evil guy. He was so evil that I hated him in this series. I don't remember what happen to him. I felt sorry for Jessica because she was deeply in love with Gallen, but Gallen married a rich lady. At the end, she tried to kill Gallen and herself so they would die together. However, she committed suicide. Does anyone know who Maggie end up with? Adam, Christinw, and Julian were great. Julian tears were striking and I think he has crying skills that are better than most actors.

Julian and Nnadia were soo cute together, hope they can be paired up again. But too bad, they didnt get much screentime together >< I guess its b/c at first, it wasnt meant for Nnadia and Julian to end up together but b/c the series was extended, they changed the pairings so it wasnt really thoroughly planned out. I think if Nnadia and Julian were planned to be a pair til the end, they would have gotten more screentime together but nevertheless, I was glad they got together at the very end ^^

flora WAS NEVER in this series, in fact, she wasn't even in the entertainment circle at the time this series was out. I think you've mistaken this series with To Get Unstuck In Time

Anyway, this is one of my fav series. It was interesting to watch. Gallen did a good job playing villian. I love the pairing of Julian & Nnadia the most They match with each other so well and their chemistry was great. It was a pity that their screentime was kinda little though. The pairing of Louis & Nnadia was not bad too. They also looked good together. I didn't like Jessica's character as much in this though since her character was kinda weak & dependent in the end, but it was like someone who mentioned earlier, we can't blame her since she has gone through a lot because of Gallen. Her character was better in the beginning. There were parts in this series that seem dragging to me (mostly adam's scenes). I only LOVE to watch Julian & Nnadia, Louis & Nnadia scenes

I thought it was a good series, definitely a classic with a packed out cast, just a bit long.

i finished this series a while ago. I must say this is a really good series! very long and slow progress lol. the cast did a great job protraying their roles! Gallen .. wow he makes a great villian! i hated him. Julian i loved his character the best! he did so well.. as for the pairings they were all great... julian and nadia were cute so was julian and jessica.. nadia and louis werent bad either.

im from malaysia and i've watched Cold Blood Warm Heart like years ago when I was still 11 yrs old .. loved this series so much !! this was the 1st series that got me so emotionally attached and all .. i so love the Julian - Jessica pairing !! i thought they were so cute together !! dint really like nadia though ( no offence nadia fans !! ) but still i can honestly say that this series is a timeless classic !! it sure tops my list of best TVB series by far!!

i've watched secret of the heart also, by i just didnt think it was as good as CBWH. Watched ATE too, but i lost interest like halfway through the show ..

anyway, does anyone know whether or not I can download the whole series through the Internet ? and how ?? much thanks to everyone !! God bless !!

I've watched this series so many times! I think what makes it great is that it depicts the epitome of how all types of relationships can turn out sooo bad, but it also resolves and makes everything better so we all get a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I loved Nnadia and Chilam in this series.. it was a shame that they weren't together continuously in the series.. I was so mad at Louis for interfering in their relationship!!! but he's easy to forgive since he was so devoted to Nnadia..

This series was one of my all time favorite series. Even though its kinda long I still rewatch it from begining to end when I have time... It was and still is the best drama series I've seen even though its kind of old now. I love the cast of the series it was perfect.. especially Julian, Nnadia, and Louis. Julian and Nnadia looked really cute together but I would still perfer Louis and her better because he treated her better and was devoted to her to the end. Adam's character was funny and it was good he got paired up with Christine Ng and Gallen was good as a villian but I would like ihm better as a good guy. Jessica was kind of annoying and too weak and dependant, but I felt sorry for her at the end. Overall it was a good series with a great cast but I still think that the story and pairings could've been better.

I just finished watching two weeks ago. It was a very good long series. Not too many draggy parts. Btw, does anyone know the name of the song that played in ep 19. It's the part where gallen leaves jessica at the restaurant to go out with astrid and then jessica walked around the streets aimlessly till 3am. I can't get that song out of my head. Thanks.

This is one of TVB's best casted series. At the time, non-leading actors Gallen Law, Jessica Hsuan, Louis Koo, Chi Lam, Nnadia Chan, Maggie Cheung would all eventually become leading actors and actresses. It even included solid actors and actresses, Christine Ng, Astrid Chan, Cheung Siu Fai, Lee Chi Ho (Hung?). Not to forget the leading men. Which proves how good this cast was.

Nowadays, you can't even get a decent cast together. With the additions of Miss HK, Miss Chinese International, Miss whatever else, TVB averages 3 new pageant actresses each year...all of whom are not skilled.

What a series! I'm half way thru and I must say, what an amazing cast. The acting is just incomparable these days.

I love the plot of this series. From all the relationships intertwining to all the family business and stuff. Just a lot of crying and a lot of slapping faces. Any series with a lot of crying and a lot of slapping of faces is a big series. Simply amazing.

Maggie ended up with Evergreen Mak in the end, she turned for the better and even moved in with him.. it's so funny cos her sister Astrid has always question her 'bad' choices, but didn't know that her own husband, Gallen, was the ultimate worst choice that destroyed her whole household.

I love this series to bits, and I finally got my hands on the whole set, and i re-watched it again recently. And it's still so awesome! The star-studded cast (i love die to have a cast like that again ), the great acting & plot made it such a classic. I loved julian & jessica together.. julian was such a good bf to her, sigh, why oh why must jessica go back to gallen, leaving poor julian alone..

and poor louis, lost nnadia trying to protect his dad.. his dad is definitely not the brightest person in this series.. so used by gallen.. anyways all in all, an AMAZING AMAZING series that should not be missed!

I just finished this series...WOAH one of the BEST EVER. Gallen was sooo evil and scary! And I love love love Chi Lam! He's so perfect with Nadia. Glad they ended up together. It was such a heart breaking story though...and I felt really bad for Jessica's character.

Cold Blood Warm Heart is a big project produced by TVB back in 1996 with a lot of big stars at that time period like Adam Cheng, Jessica Hsuan, Gallen Lo, Julian Cheung, Nadia Chan.

this series was great. i love chilam's and nnadia's relationship especially the last scene where they reunited. i felt really bad for jessica's character, she suffered so much especially from the love of her life, gallen.

just speed watched some of the episodes of this overnight.. i think i like julian and jessica's pairing. now i remember why ppl like this pairing. they are cute together. suet is like a totally different person outside of ga lap's world. she's soo much cherrier and happier when he's not in his life. too bad that she love him soo much to forget about him, even knowing that kien love her soo much...

thank goodness they did her, jessica, good in golden faith... having gallen play a more loving role for her character...

Actually I prefer the Chilam/Jess pairing in here...They were cute together, but too bad they didn't end up together...I felt so sad when Jess decided to end her life with Gallen together(although she din succeed in the end), the way Chilam cried was so heartbreaking and the letter she wrote to him =(((

Thought I’d just give quick summary of the ending seeing as some ppl need a refresher, its been ages but I can still see the scenes laying one after another in my mind – now THAT’S a good series

Gallen sort of loses the plot and kidnaps Jessica to keep her from Chi Lam. Jessica realises she is still in love with him but realises what a monster he has become and the pain she was giving Chi Lam. She ends up trying to stab Gallen (he survives) and thinking he was dead she jumps off the building and suicides.

Despite Chi Lam being heart broken, Gallen crazily believes that he is the culprit for her death. So after he losses all his wealth and everything, not to mention getting into the bad books of some powerful gang leader, he is hell bent on getting back at Chi Lam. So he kidnaps Nadia. Adam, Chi Lam, Louis and all the other good guys try to find her and we are kept in suspense up to the end of whether she is still alive or dead. Gallen refuses to tell anyone and instead becomes a star witness for the prosecution against a gang leader in order to keep himself out of jail.

At the airport Gallen is protected by a few cops and waits to board to a plane to leave HK. Chi Lam follows him to the toilets and literally goes on his knees begging him for forgiveness in exchange for knowledge of Nadia’s situation. Little do they know a gunman (sent by gang leader) dressed as a cleaner has locked the bathroom doors. The gunman opens fire to kill Gallen and Chi Lam takes a bullet for him. They are both shot, Chi Lam pleads with the dying Gallen to tell him, but Gallen dies smirking …. Chi Lam falls into a coma.


Adam and his cop friends manage to find some leads on Nadia’s location and discover that she had been buried alive ! in a cemetry under a tombstone marked with Jessica’s name. She is half dead with no food or water, except oxygen from a tube sticking out of the ground – she is rescued but discovers she has been blinded. She waits for Chi Lam to recover before she leaves HK. Several years go by.

Chi Lam meets Nadia again under the Wishing Tree. She takes off her sunnies, and she can see again! They kiss and make up. It ends with Adam in the big corp, marries his teacher girlfriend, looks after the girl and the three go off shopping together

I loved this series!! The cast was great and the pairings were pretty good. Ilike the Adam and Christine pairing. It was better than her and that lawyer. I don't reallly like Gallen's character in this series. =( He was really bad....making his brother go to jail.

I love this series so much because the storyline is good and most important it has handsome Chi Lam in it. He looks so good in this show. I prefer him with Jessica instead of Nadia though.

I just rewatched the series again (all for Chilam) and it was very engrossing! The actors were all great, really miss the old actors and story lines. One great scene was Chilam's crying after Jessica's death. He was leaning on his sister and he just looked so hurt and vulnerable. Great acting plus great directing!

One of the best all time classics of the 90's!! Great cast, great storylines and the songs are good. Loved the pairing of Julian and Nnadia. Gallen was so evil in it, he played the part brilliantly. I also loved Louis looks in here before he got really dark!!

This was a very popular and famous show back in the 1900s...everyone in it are great actors and actresses. Gallen Lo and Julian etc. Are all very good. The show itself was amzing. It's nice to watch old shows again =]
