oh man i want to watch ep 9!!!

i think this hot-and-cold treatment from ZS is frustrating but i guess that's what we like about the show haha.. (my sister says the hot-and-cold treatment doesn't really make sense.. but ARGH. who cares.) i think ZS was behaving this way cos he he didn't really know how to "express his feelings" as stated in the manga:) he was trying to curb his emotions or whatever you call it, but sometimes he would find himself being too nice(not that we mind ) to XQ so he had to be mean again to make up for it. sounds stupid, but hey! it does make a teeny wenny lil bit of sense right? haha>.<

He probably hasn't realize yet that he's in love with XQ. He tried to block this feeling hence end up hurting XQ time and again. Furthermore, he thinks it hurt his pride to like someone like XQ.

somehow, i felt that he already realized that he likes XQ, hence he does all those weird and mean things to her. haha. i know i'm not making sense here. he probably doesn't really know how to handle his feelings for her, since he never even though of falling in love in the first place.

but i think it's cute how he looks at her and smile after all the chasing in the start of episode 9. he even looked away and tried putting on a straight face when she was surprised when he ask her where she wanted to go next!

The date in eps. 9 was by far the best part of this entire series so far. ZS is definitely showing more emotions towards XQ. But I'm still really confused whether he really likes XQ or not because of his hot/cold treatment. It's just fustrating seeing him treat her like that. Does anyone know when ZS will actually fall in love with XQ?? I can't wait for that to happen.

does anyone know how many episodes this series run?? i read..that there's only 10 episodes...does it mean, it'll end next sunday then???

I think the total number of episodes in this series is still a mystery. I've been hearing 10, 13, 14, 17, and 20. Don't know which one is right. I don't think we can even trust the website for this series because their synopsis doesn't seem to follow with what they show on tv.

ep 9 was good~ not satisfying enough but i'll deal with it. the only thing i didn't like was the whole thing about ariel being the main character in this manga thing that was created by her classmates or whatever. i thought that was so pointless!! i didn't understand why that was even put in!

when the "xiao ke ai" first appeared on the street i thought that was the cutest dog in the world!! i wish dogs like that never grow up. cause he looked "not so ke ai" later on. hahahah

Maybe the whole Manga thing is just t0 show viewers that although Joe doesn't appreciate Ariel, lots of males are appreciative of Ariel's beauty.

I like the fact that Joe attended the Manga Clubs's launching of Ariel's character. That means he cares for Ariel n is so curious abt her (why else would he attend) just like when he first saw her working in a restaurant (episode 3), he visited her too but didin't have the guts to appear in front of her (guess he thought this was a sign of weakness )

i thought zs started liking xq in ep. 3 where he asks what liking someone feels like and saves her on the bus...dunno, just a guess

he doesn't love her until the end. looking forward to it!!!!!!!

This boy is like deprived of love or showing it or something. His mother is so passionate about showing her feelings and maybe that affected him. I'm also looking forward to the new guy. He seemed to make Ariel smile in the pictures, XQ is always so frustrated with school and ZS. It's about time for a new character.

aww don't say that... but most likely its probably gonna happen in the last episode . I think he has fallen in love with her but he can't admit it to himself that he could like HER. I like that he got jealous of ariel with the crazy tennis guy.

Ep. 9 was soooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooood! There's just too many cute scenes that I don't even know which one I want to talk about! The "date" was just too adorable! It's so obvious that ZS had so much more fun going on their date than when he was just watching a movie and sitting there talking with Zi Yu. BORING!!!! A date with XQ is a lot more "stimulating"! Hahaha

when ZS helped XQ out of the water and she was helping to pull him up too, but then she toppled back in, did she say that he did that to her on purpose? Meaning that he pulled her in? Whatever she said it put a smile on his face.

Which part of the dialogue do you mean? The one before or after XQ`s bath? For the one after her bath and while they`re drinking tea (which I think you`re referring to):

ZS: Since I was young, I never knew the meaning of "Oh no!". Nothing in my life was unexpected, all until Year 3 in high school when you gave me that confession letter. My life seemed to go out of control ever since, running into situations where I go "Oh no!" almost every day and where I have to worry all the time.

QS: "Oh no!".. and "worry".. So what I`ve brought ZS are such bad things.. I can`t keep giving ZS trouble like this.

阿利住院期間，只剩湘琴一人料理家事，裕樹對湘琴的廚藝抱怨連連，向來毒舌的直樹反而要裕樹不要再抱怨，吃下去就對了。假日，三人到醫院探病，不料阿利的病情卻越來越嚴重，直樹開始認真考慮要擔起父親的重責大任，就在此時，阿諾出現，湘琴的一番話再次喚起直樹當初想要當醫生的原因。

湘琴夜裡起來喝水，遇到心事重重的直樹，直樹對湘琴表示自己有意放棄當醫生的夢想，休學進入父親的公司以減輕阿利的壓力，湘琴明白直樹強迫自己割捨夢想的痛苦，卻只能從直樹身後緊緊抱住他，給予他一些微弱的支持。

湘琴照例在公司惹出一堆麻煩，讓阿利疲於奔命。直樹注意到公司贊助的節目收視率下降，造成玩具的銷量也受到影響，因此每晚在公司看節目研究解決之道，湘琴提出飛天馬的構想，誤打誤撞給了直樹新的想法。

直樹的企畫在公司會議上獲得好評，阿利得意忘形之際，不小心透露出安田並非捲款潛逃，只是休假兩個禮拜，直樹表示他的前途要自己決定，希望阿利不要抱有太多期待。

「天空神黃金天馬」熱賣，成為聖誕節熱銷產品。湘琴為了佳純和理美，狠下心拒絕參加入江家公司所舉辦的宴會，不料直樹卻會出席。聖誕夜當天，佳純和理美重色輕友，留下湘琴一個在家過節，直樹在飯店看見理美和男友在一起，明白湘琴被兩人拋下，特意買了炸雞和蛋糕回去。

子瑜對於自己完全不知道直樹轉到醫學院的事感到十分沮喪，決定對直樹表白，將事情做一個了斷，在賞花大會當晚約直樹外出談話，湘琴和皓謙見狀，跟蹤而去，卻因為身上錢帶得不夠而被計程車司機轟下車，湘琴仍不死心追去，終於在體力不支前看見兩人在公園談話，直樹坦言他現在唯一有興趣的只有醫學而已，子瑜投懷送抱，直樹仍不為所動，子瑜羞憤離去。

阿利和阿才兩人健檢報告出爐，阿利健康狀況不甚理想，而入江家人仍不知道直樹已經轉唸醫學院，直樹也始終不動聲色。

湘琴和子瑜在學校碰面，為了昨晚子瑜告白被拒的事吵得不可開交，在子瑜一再逼問下，湘琴脫口說出當年直樹吻完她之後，所說的話竟是「活該」二字，子瑜再次勾起鬥志。另一方面，阿金即將出師，特地約湘琴到福吉成為第一個品嚐他作品的人，湘琴感受到阿金的認真和心意，卻無法回應。

Episode 10

Ah Li calls ZS home and tells him that his secretary has ran off with the company`s funds and stolen the designs of a new toy. He requests ZS to help out in his company for a couple of weeks, and an excited XQ proposes working there too.

XQ creates a lot of problems in the company, giving Ah Li a great headache. ZS notices that a television program the company is sponsoring is suffering a dip in viewership ratings, affecting the sales of the toy. Thus, ZS tries to think of a solution every night, and when XQ suggests something about a unicorn (not sure whether it`s this or a "flying horse", but this sounds more logical), and ZS readily takes up that idea.

ZS` idea is well-received at a board meeting and Ah Li is immensely proud. In a slip of the tongue, Ah Li reveals that the secretary didn`t run off with any of the funds, but actually only took a few weeks of leave. ZS is furious and tells him that he wants to decide his future on his own, and not to harbor too much hope on him working in the company.

The "Divine Golden Unicorn" toy is hugely popular and becomes the number one gift for Christmas. XQ declines an invitation to attend a dinner organized by the Jiangs for Li Mei and Jia Chun`s sake without knowing that ZS would be attending too. On Christmas, Li Mei and Jia Chun abandon XQ for their boyfriends, leaving her to celebrate all alone. ZS sees Li Mei and her boyfriend in the hotel and realizes that XQ is by herself at home. He then buys fried chicken and a cake home.

Ah Li explicitly expresses his wish for ZS to inherit his company but he refuses. His mother, unable to bear it any longer, rushes in and scolds him. ZS leaves in a fit of anger with XQ running behind. Here, ZS tells her of his ambition to be a doctor. His mother loses her voice from endless crying, and YS understands that ZS actually likes XQ but is afraid to admit it.

Because of ZS, XQ decides to study nursing and become a nurse. She carries a first-aid kit running around all day while Ah Li and his wife try to make YS explicitly reveal ZS` feelings for XQ. Ah Cai sees how troubled Ah Li and his wife are over ZS and asks him out for a talk at the restaurant, asking him to go home and see them once in a while.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of their meeting, XQ knits a scarf for Valentine`s Day and waits outside his house for a long time, not knowing that he has already moved back home.

ZS finally decides to move back home and his mother decides to "disguise" herself again at his school to distribute flyers, causing him a lot of displeasure. After talking randomly with XQ, XQ finds out that the scarf she gave to ZS on Valentine`s Day has ended up with Guai Ka of the Manga Club.

ZY is depressed that ZS didn`t inform her about his transfer to the medical school and decides to have another confession for him at the Flowers Appreciation Event (I know this sounds cheesy but it`s some kind of artistic event where you look at flowers and stuff). Sensing something amiss, XQ and HQ decide to follow but due to their lack of money, they get kicked out of the taxi they use to tail them. Undeterred, XQ continues giving chase until she is completely exhausted and sees them talking at a park. ZS tells ZY that his only interest is in the medical school and ZY proceeds to embrace him, but he does not return the hug. Embarrassed and outraged, ZY leaves.

Ah Li and Ah Cai`s medical reports are out and the former`s medical condition is critical. ZS keeps quiet about his transfer to the medical school.

XQ runs into ZY at school and engages in a heated argument with her over her failed confession the previous night. After being pressed by ZY, XQ reveals her kiss with ZS before. ZY only replies that she "deserves it" (in a very bad way; referring to ZS` attitude I think). On the other hand, Jin is becoming more accomplished as a chef and invites XQ to be the first person to taste his culinary "creations". XQ is deeply moved by his sincerity, but is unable to reciprocate his feelings.

YS says that his life-long ambition is to work with ZS in their family`s toy company, which sets XQ thinking about her future. She discusses their future with ZS and tells him that she has no wish in life. Whatever wish she has would only exist to support his dreams.

When they reach home, Ah Li is furious to know about ZS` transfer to medical school. They start arguing fiercely and suddenly, Ah Li suffers a heart attack and is immediately sent to the hospital.

Episode 12

Ah Li`s medical condition stabilizes but the recurring problems of the company doesn`t allow him to recuperate in peace. ZS hence agrees to take over his father`s work during this period of time. However, the company`s outlook still doesn`t look so positive and even the genius ZS is troubled by its many problems.

While Ah Li is in hospital, XQ is the only one at home to deal with the chores and YS complains constantly about her bad cooking. The usually sharp-tongued ZS then tells him to simply eat his food and stop complaining. During the weekends, the three of them visit Ah Li and learn that his condition is worsening. ZS then starts to seriously consider taking over his father`s work when Ah Nuo arrives, and after a talk with him ZS recalls his initial ambition of being a doctor.

XQ wakes up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water when she meets the heavy-hearted ZS. ZS expresses his wish to give up his dream of being a doctor to enter his father`s company and lessen his workload. XQ understands the pain of giving up his dream, but she can only hug him tightly, providing such weak support.

The news of ZS quitting school causes an uproar in the school, but as he is extremely busy with work, he cannot do anything about them. XQ and ZY use their connections to get into Fan Da Company, causing a slight disruption.

The president of Da Quan is impressed with ZS and wants to match-make him with SHZ (a new character and his daughter perhaps?). Although this is opposed by many, ZS is aware of the uneasiness in the company and he agrees to the match-make, winning the support of the president.

ZS stubbornly holds firm to his decision and his mother tries to wreck the match-make. When ZY finds out about it, she decides to join in too.

During the day of the match-make, Ah Li`s wife, XQ and ZY try to devise a plan to ruin the session. However, all of their plans backfire on XQ herself, who thinks that this is her retribution for coming up with such evil schemes in the first place.

Episode 13

ZS decides to date SHZ, and wants XQ to find a guy for herself quickly. YS can tell from this that the girl ZS really loves is XQ, and to this, ZS doesn`t deny it and even says in self-assurance, "SHZ should be very compatible with me."

ZS starts to date SHZ and XQ is shocked. ZY, seeing how things are turning out, decides to back out.

The broken-hearted XQ then takes the initiative to ask Jin out, deciding to spend an entire day doing things they like together. When XQ returns home she sees ZS in the kitchen and in a frezied moment, she spills some hot water. ZS immediately carries her to the bathroom to run water down her burns, and at this moment, XQ begins to realize that the only one she truly loves is ZS when though she promised herself to forget him.

Ah Li is discharged from the hospital and his wife celebrates it with great enthusiasm. Just when Ah Li is about to scold ZS for his relationship with SHZ, she comes with the president of Da Quan (SHZ`s father?). SHZ decides to have a talk with XQ, who tells her that ZS likes her too while controlling the pain. Seeing how much XQ is suffering, Ah Cai tells her that it`s time to leave.

Jin suddenly proposes to XQ, and after considering how her family`s restaurant would have a successor if she marries him, she is confused with the choice to do so. One day while Jin and XQ are shopping, they run into SHZ and ZS. ZS throws sarcastic remarks at them and later, SHZ questions his unusual behavior. ZS replies that he`d never speak like that to her (SHZ).

When ZS returns to school to retrieve something, he finds out accidentally about Jin`s proposal and he is thrown into an emotional turmoil.

When Jin presses XQ for an answer, she tells him that she still needs time to consider. Jin then realizes that the one she loves is ZS and forces a kiss on her. In her struggle, XQ unconsciously cries out ZS` name. Jin stops forcing himself on her, knowing fully-well that he`d never be able to compare to ZS in her heart.

During a heavy rain, XQ sees ZS waiting for her with an umbrella outside the subway. XQ tells him that she`ll marry Jin, and unable to continue controlling his emotions, ZS kisses her. He drags her home and tells everyone that he wants to marry her.

ZS and Ah Li goes to apologize to the president of Da Quan who accepts their apology and with his support, Ah Li returns to work. He also allows ZS to resume his internship at the medical school. Jin`s understanding (this line sounds very out-of-place and incomplete..).

Ah Li`s wife thinks that more problems would arise if the marriage is delayed and decides to push forward the date, angering ZS.

After reading the review, I think I'm gonna hate Ep 11 and 12.

The series seems to get darker and less light-hearted towards the end. I don`t spot any of the cute or funny moments present in the earlier episodes up till now. It`s sad to see the turn of events unfolding this way, but I hope the ending turns out good. The summary of the supposedly last episode didn`t reveal much about the ending, but I really hope to see XQ and ZS married at the end!

Ugh!!! I spoiled myself....hope I can forget episode 10, 11, 12 n 13's synopsis....just can't help myself reading the synopsis...so curious.

I hope they include that scene after the confession and kiss in the rain. That night they will sleep together on his bed( not doing anything but hugging, mind U). She's just worried he would change his mind the next day hence propose sleeping together.

yeah.. but i think that all these sypnosis are not accurate.. as we all know from the preview of episode 10, ZS is GOING TO move out and has not moved out yet. but the episode 10 in the sypnosis starts with the dad asking ZS to move back.. hmm.. dunno when will we ever find some accurate sypnosis... if not we are just hanging there every week wondering what's gonna happen next!

wow......from the synopsis, it does look like ZS will only confess his love to XQ at the very last episode. I can't wait!!!

Ariel is just too adorable in this episode and all her little gestures are so comical! She can do physical comedy very well! I'm SO curious about the translations of the rest of the episodes, but I'm gonna try to ignore it. I really don't want to spoil myself that much! I know that it'll be really enjoyable while I'm reading it, but then afterwards I'll be like this ...

I wish I can forget the synopsis.....its too stuck in my mind..because so curious.

I hate the fact that JOE only proclaimed his love for ARIEL at the very end of the show. How I wish Joe will get freakingly mad at the other guy Ariel will meet in school.

i dled all the eps so far, so im all caught up now. its such a cute series. ive read the manga too, as well as seen the jap version of the series. very hilarious, lol. i think joe's acting has improved now, still not super convincing, but better. he's still super cute though, hehe.

I think that what they have shown is falling behind what the synopsis says, but I quickly scanned a few of the earlier synopsis and it's fairly close to what they ended up showing, so I would say that the later synopsis are probably not too far off in left field, although maybe not exact. But we shall see. I do hope that it's more than 13 episodes, because that really packs it in w/just 13 and then it seems rushed and you don't get to feel the emotions as much.

I read some summaries of the actual manga and - it's a really cute & "girly" story. I loved it. There are certain scenes that I hope they include in this drama. I do hope that they would at least show a few more hints to the fact that ZS really likes XQ. To me, thoses are real gems in this drama. All of ZS's sarcasm & coldness toward XQ strengthens those few seconds/minutes when he shows concern for her. Joe & Ariel are really well casted in this series. Joe doesn't have as many speaking lines it seems since ZS has a quiet demeanor - he plays the part quite well - as I can believe him in this role (it was harder for me to believe him in his previous roles). I have only seen Ariel in 7th grade and didn't like it too much, but she's really perfect as XQ. Looking forward to the rest of the storyline.

Stupid Me, I read the synopsis, bt I don't think i read everything because I don't remember reading about the new guy. Is it just gonna end like that? they get married, no marriage life noooo, they need to give us more, we waited so patiently!

Is the new guy Ah Nuo or something? I only remember translating one tiny bit about him and that`s kinda strange lol. But oh well, I guess the original writers of the synopsis didn`t want to spoil everything, so they took out some of the important bits I heard they`re already planning a sequel, so don`t worry too much about seeing their married life!



cjn took the sypnosis from the official site itself, so I suppose it should be somewhat accurate. It probably glossed over the fact ZS moved out already as I think everyone saw that in the preview and it probably happened early on in the episode lol. But whatever the sypnosis says, we`re still going to end up watching the episodes one way or the other so it doesn`t matter I guess!

Since the sypnosis aren't accurate then there are probably more cute scenes we can look forward to. I think we shouldn't bother about the sypnosis, the director are out to make our lives miserable...thinking about this serie every minute...

the summary is quite interesting yet i still don^t have the time to watch it. it^s only now that i realized that it also came from a Japaneese manga same with Mars and Devil beside you who equally became such a big hit. there^s a lot of positive feedbacks on this thread so im really looking forward for this.

Okay...so after rewatching ep. 9 I finally figured out few things:
(1) One of the guys from the manga club is the same guy who played Mike He's Japanese Uncle in Love Contract. He still has that particular accent when he speaks Mandarin. This guy that I am talking about is the one who did the reading at that manga club meeting.
(2) One of XQ's bestfriends is also from Love Contract. This girl is the one with long, straight hair, not the curly hair one.
(3) There is another guy who's from Love Contract, but I don't think he's in this episode. He's supposedly ZS' friend from high school based on what I read on the official site, and that if I do not misunderstand it. Hehehehehe... this guy died in Love Contract, I think his role is probably insignificant in ISWAK.

14 episodes maybe a bit rushed, but with the way they adapted the manga the way it is so far, it may do good to the series itself. I am just hoping that the torrents and download files are still available after I come back from my Christmas vacation. Hehehehe...Don't throw sandals at me, but I am seriously hoping that it'll end @ 13th episode that way I would be able to finish the whole series before leaving for Wisconsin to see my in-laws!!! Hehehehehehe...

I think you`re talking about that guy who appears for the first 5 minutes in the first episode. He`s the only friend I see with ZS in high school. Anyway, I`m quite surprised you notice such little things lol! Are you a fan of Ariel`s who watched this after seeing her in Love Contract?

So far, the biggest and likeliest rumor is that there will only be 13 episodes. This version follows more truly to the manga and isn`t as rushed as the Japanese version. I watched the Japanese one a few days ago out of curiosity and everything happened so quick! They covered like 4-5 events in the first 10 minutes '

i think japanese versions just like to be condensed..for example i'm watching hana yori dango right now and everything happens so fast too! its interesting becuase we get so used to tw shows that the pace is refreshing

just finished watching ep. 9...i loved the part where zs grabbbed xq's hand right before those ppl start chasing them..that was SO SWEET!
