ive read somewhere that ariel lin is not interested in shooting a sequel for "it started with a kiss"... she said there are a lot of uncertainties... because the japanese versions only got to the part where Zhi Shu and Xiang Qing get married. there are no manga or tv series to use as reference to shoot the sequel. she's afraid that it might not do as good as the first series,ie. "Meteor Garden II".
instead of shooting a sequel, i think they should make a mini movie on their life after the wedding!

about hsu wei ning, she's a model with taiwan's powerhouse modeling agency, Catwalk, with Joe Zheng. she can be seen in alot of music videos and magazines...

I think Nine Ball is not a new show at all. That one came out last year or even older than that. There is a thread in the forum for it already. I'm currently watching it too. I hope...no sequel to this series. No offense, it's just sequel tends to flop and we all know what happened with MG2, right? I really hope that this series won't be ruined, you know? I'd rather have Joe and Ariel do other tv series together rather than a sequel. That's just my opinion.

Yeah, he is a bit too skinny. That's why I think I like Mike He a bit just because he seems to have more muscles. He is still somewhat skinny. Then again...Joe's height is...TOO COOL!! I think Jiro Wang (the actor who plays Jin) is a pretty good one, you know? It's not easy to play such an annoying yet pitiful character like that, at least I think it's difficult. Hehehehehe... I would love to see him in another TV series as a lead possibly. That would be nice.

Ahh sorry I didn`t know that was an old show! I`m not really a Joe Cheng fan so I`m not too sure ' I just know that`s another show I`ve seen him in besides The Rose and the Magic Ring one.

I believe the manga stretched all the way until their married life, so at least they could base a sequel on something, unlike in MG 2 where the scriptwriters just came up with their own storylines.. I could be wrong, but the manga was REALLY long and I think I read somewhere that their married life was included in the manga as well. I want to see a sequel, but if it`s going to be as bad as MG 2 I think I`d pass lol.

About the sequel, i also think like Ariel, if they are going to do the same as MG2 i prefer not to see any continuation... but they can do a Special (an hour +/-) explaning about their marriage life! Although if i see their wedding in the last chapter, i can finally give up ^^

I think also that they have explained the first 5 volumes of the manga in detail and the following, they are running with story and sure leaving some details...Ç_Ç There's a lot of things that may pass until the end and not much epi...

Hmm, no manga as reference... find that weird. Cos, am currently reading the manga and it actually talk about 'events' that happen in their marriage. There are still quite few characters missing... like a 'medic nurse' that fell for XQ; ZS reaction to this 'medic nurse' - dealing with jealousity (note - AJ who pointed it out lolx).. ok dont want to spoil the fun...

You can find it from a lot of Taiwanese eShops, of which one of the most reputable ones would be Yahoo Taiwan here. Just search on google.com.tw "惡作劇之吻 DVD" and you should get a lot of search results

How have the ratings been so far? This series is getting better but too much comedy sometimes it lowers the sweet parts of it.

發現dvd有以下幾個大缺點：

1.第一片在每個廣告播出的地方都會中斷，而第二片卻是ok的。
(買dvd就是不想收看被打斷啊~~)

2.最重要的惡作劇之吻....直樹第一次kiss湘琴的無聲版本在dvd版卻變成了有配樂....凸
還我無聲勝有聲的kiss版!!!!!!!

3.所有在中視出現的bug...例："暑假作業"等在八大播出時卻改正的通通都沒改；也就是說，這個dvd是中視播放版而不是八大修正版

(著作權不是八大所有嗎?? 為何還因搶時間而用有瑕疵的中視版呢???)

4.直樹帶湘琴到電腦教室看那張護身符的照片時，有一小段被剪了!!

I know many friends are interested and curious about the possibility (of making a sequel). Honestly, everything is still unconfirmed now. Besides considering all the actors` conflicting schedules, the most important thing is whether we can produce something better, something that would meet your expections. It`s not just about the acting or skills involved, but I`ve been thinking about the ending Tada Kaoru (the mangaka of Itazura na Kiss) would`ve come up with if she continued drawing the manga. I hope Joe Cheng can enter Zhi Shu`s world, and Ariel Lin into Xiang Qin`s; and what would their future and lives together be like? If I didn`t have any confidence to pull this off, I`d rather not do a sequel. It`s not a problem of whether everyone will like it or not, this is our responsibilty to the story and all those who love it. Hence, the prospects of a sequel are still hazy as of now. Until we have more substantiated plans, we won`t start on one yet. Ke Mi Productions and I are still in negotiations with the Japan side on the possibility of a sequel and we`re all carefully considering it. It doesn`t matter now whether we`ll have one in the end, but at least we have to think it through carefully.

What`s most important is that it doesn`t matter whether it`s a comedy or tragedy, life should have joy and sorrow in the first place. Even Stephen Chow`s (a famous HK comedian) movies all contain tear-jerking scenes at some point.

I think what`s important is that Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin are all growing, and life would not give them simply arguments and quarrels all the time. How would a deeper growth change them? This is what I`m most concerned and curious about. The Zhi Shu after marriage, the Zhi Shu who set out to be a doctor, the Zhi Shu who`s learning to be a person in this world with emotions. And of course Xiang Qin and the rest too. This is what makes a person real, and not just a character in a show.


Regarding a reporter`s article, which is quite amusing by the way, she asked me if the original cast would be involved. I said "of course", not just because it`s part of the series or that the audience won`t be able to accept it, but in my heart every one of them are the characters themselves already. No matter whether it`s Xiang Qin, Zhi Shu, Ah Jin, Zi Yu, Hao Qin or Jiang Mama etc., no one can replace them. I`ve never talked about the props, but trust me, if there`s a sequel, all the props would be replaced.. hahaha.


I`ve been busy these few days, I`ll answer questions a few days later. Moreover, the truth will be revealed sooner or later.

I`ve found some imperfections in the DVD:

1. In the first DVD, when the advertisements are meant to come out, there`s an abrupt cut. But the second DVD is ok.
(the very reason why you buy DVDs is because you don`t want to see these cuts~~)

2. The most important kiss scene.. When Zhi Shu first kisses Xiang Qin, the initial silence has been replaced by some music in the DVD! Give me back the "silent kiss" version!!!!!!!

3. All the "bugs" that have appeared in the CTV version.. eg. All the subtitles that have been edited in the GTV version are not edited here. This means that the episodes are from CTV, and not the GTV edited ones.

(Isn`t GTV in-charge of this?? Why did they use the CTV version just because of time-constraints???)

4. When Zhi Shu brings Xiang Qin into the computer lab to see the picture of the tailsman/protection charm, there`s a small scene which had been cut out!!

The director sounds like he's giving a serious thought about making a part two. And it seems promising. The part two in the manga is definitely worth acting out althou w/o an ending. But their marriage life is so interesting! like what the director has said, zs will become someone with emotions.. rlly rlly hope they will act out their marriage life!!!

Thanks for the clip! Although the kissing looked a bit stiff between the two.. must be probably due to the cold. The talk at the end was a bit funny lol.. they said they actually couldn`t hear one another because of the cold and the rain pouring down, so they pinched each other at the end of their own dialogue to signal to the other. I thought that was cute

Love this serial. yup... oh and i think the tv version is going to be ALOT more than 13 episodes. cos i read the synopsis(in mandrin) on the ctv website, and like even though it was split into thirteen segments there, but then its evident that the serial isn;t moving as quickly.. i think the parts covered on episode nine on tv is only ep 7 in the synopsis. so the whole tv serial might hit like 16-20 eps.

WOW!!! Hopefully 20 episodes... OK, I'm pushing my luck here.

I read the manga and I think its a shame if they don't do a sequel. What the director said is really encouraging, he seems to understand the fans point of view. If he can't make a good sequal, don't bother to make it at all. I am really hoping that there will be a sequal and it will be a great one.

Reporter: The male and female leads of GTV's "It Started With A Kiss", Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin, were rushing to film the "goodbye kiss" scene in the rain late yesterday night. The production crew had to use a 22-tonne tank to spray water and cause the "rain storm" effect. This scene itself took about 3-5 hours to film, leaving both Joe and Ariel soaking wet. Seeing how uncomfortable it was when all their clothes stuck together when they were drenched, someone immediately suggested not to wear anything inside. ( )

Ariel: I wear disposables *laughs*. It's easier to change. (note: what Ariel says here is a bit unclear for me, so I'm not very sure about this line)

Joe: For my part, I still need to wear underwear but I'd bring an extra pair to change. I won't be able to act if I don't wear underwear.

Reporter: To make it in time for editing, the raining scenes were shot over a few consecutive days and Ariel has come down with a cold. And to Joe who has been obsessively drinking tonics to improve his immune system, he has "accidentally" fallen sick too.

Joe: Well because these few days we've been filming wet scenes, then dry scenes, and then wet scenes again, so.. actually I'm having a bit of flu now; I've got a runny nose but it's not a major problem now.

Reporter: Not only do they have to be drenched, they need to know their dialogue and expressions (that they'd need to act out) well. Joe revealed that while this "goodbye kiss in the rain" scene looks romantic, it actually requires some kind of "trick".

Joe: We make use of signals.. because the camera won't shoot what's below, so we'll use our hands to make signals. Like when she's finished her dialogue, she'd pinch me to tell me it's my turn to say my dialogue. While it looks romantic on top (the parts that are shown on camera) with all our sweet-nothings, we actually cannot hear what we're saying to each other. Our mouths would also fill with so much water and when it's time for our dialogue, we'd need to "drain" them too. I'd open my mouth till there's a small gap for all the water to flow out before I say my lines. ( )

I'm so happy they're actually going to film a sequel! Hope its really good. Joe and Ariel are so adorable! It's finally confirmed... I certainly don't think Joe will accept any acting offer that comes his way. He's got a lot of roles now because he's popular, but he still has to consider a lot of things before accepting one, like that article above already stated he turned down the role in MFG because of conflicting schedules. He's a good actor and I trust his judgment in picking his shows

Nope, ariel ain't going anywhere. She's no longer gg us. read somewhere, she was suppose to go previously but cancelled such plans that's why she's still here. And, since the director n joe have decided they want part 2, i guess ariel will be persuaded by them? hopefully (: But one thing is that ariel has alot of upcoming role offers too i heard. So she will have to sqeeze out her time for iswak2 if she accept it. that might be one thing that she's considering?

i'm thinking the opposite way of what u're thinking. i'm hoping that there will be a sequel to ISWAK, cos i'm sure for all those who read the manga, we will all want to see the entire series being acted out. as for the part that the manga isn't complete, somehow when i read it, till the "end", i felt that it was coming to an end soon, probably with XQ being pregnant. (this is only my guess anyway, so do not quote me. )

i don't think the sequel will be as bad as MG2, as what many of you fear, cos they actually have a storyline and plot to follow. MG2 is just.... beyong explanation. and also, MG2 was actually from a fresh script. so anyway, i personally don't think we should compare the sequel to MG2. there's such a major difference between them.

BUT......

if ariel isn't going to join the cast for ISWAK, then i would rather there wouldn't be a sequel to this series, cos i simply hate it when anyone of the cast gets replaced. the entire feel u then get from the series is totally lost without the original cast, so hopefully, ariel will be back.

i read somewhere that she's not going to the US already, cos i think there's no one left at home to accompany her mom (cos her sis went abroad or something like that, i think), so her plans are cancelled.

YES, jus finish watching too with alot of bufferings but XQ cried so much in this epi. SO SO SO SAD. I don't like epi 10 too. looking forward for epi 11, XQ spent a night at ZS's house. The preview's so so cute. heehee
