lol i was watchin episode #4 .. do any of you guys notice the poster/picture they had in the dining room where they eat??!? it caught my attention because it looked like a poster of the "Incredibles" buh den im like huh? it was Joe's family posing as the Incredibles!!! at first i only saw da mom,dad, n lil bro.. buh then i looked i dink joe was in it too! it was really cute.. this was during da scene where Joe had prepared the homework on the dining table waiting for Ariel to come down.. it was cuteeeee '

^ Yeah i had noticed it too! I was wondering why such a "cool" guy like Zhi Shu would be posing in such a funky poster--a poster in the dining room where anyone can see. Notice Joe is like in the middle, geing the tallest one in the picture---as if he was the leader or something and his family his fellow incredibles. [but we all know who rules the roost! Mama!]

this series is coming out way too slow, i already saw the first 5 epsiodes and it's so good, y are taiwanese series airing on sunday can't they put in weekends

especially since rainie has a really different stlye of acting. her style of acting is more eccentric i think then ariels. this role needed someone who can subtly make u love her. haha so ariel is prefect for this part. totally my opinion. ^^ plus...ariel is cute too! and i dunno...i like actresses that dont seem too perfect. that makes them seem more human and rainie is too perfect for the role. tehehe

If you've read previous posts I'm sure you'll get a hint of what most of us thinks, 'It Started With a Kiss' is hilarious!

It's a romantic comedy based by a manga, so if you like shoujo anime (girl anime) you should give this a try .

Does anyone notice that Ariel is....let's just call it "not so pretty" when she's in a drama? Especialy in Kiss, she just looks totally different. But when she's on variety shows or in MVs, she's so much more pretty. I especially like her look in Mayday's MV. Did anyone watch that? Or maybe it's just me.....

thought this was a bad series to watch but so far i like the first episode

i know!!! i think its because she always plays characters who aren't supposed to be pretty...and don't like to make themselves pretty (at lesat not in the conventional way)

I really liked the 'incredibles' poster too..it was hilarious! And the scene where ZS saw XQ was cute...and the part when they were taking pics!!!!!!! although i thought it was sort of strange for him to be nice and act lovey dovey with her even if its pretend...seemed like a bit too fast..but i like it =)

There's going to be a music video for It Started Wtih a Kiss starring Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin! Whoo!! Can't wait for that! YAY!

Yep, I dont think she is pretty however, in some cases, i only can say she is cute.. She looks exactly the same as the drawing of the manga.. In this manga, the girl is not pretty at all.. But with the first eps, I think she acted quite well...

I watched the Japanese drama about 5 or 6 years ago, but they did not cover the whole manga.. I think it was gud....

I like Joe Zheng from The magic ring drama.. Mike He and he iare cute..

Ariel Lin isn't esp pretty, but she's a very very talented actress.

yeah i didn't think she was pretty at ALL when i first saw her but she has grown on me. and i think she looks so pretty outside of the series. like on talk shows or whatever.

yeah.. but i guess that its because Xiang Qin is not supposed to be a very pretty gal.. so they did not put much make-up or doll up Ariel for this series.. however, i think that she's really much prettier on those variety shows!

I know what you mean. Her voice sounds kinda annoying to me. It seems like she's using her nose to talk or something. Well...I don't really know how to explain it. But I still like her very much.

I don't find her annoying at all, her voice is what makes her one of the hottest singer/actor at the moment. She's really a pretty good singer herself. I love her song that's on the Love Contract OST.

But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion .

i think it is u like her or u dont. for me there is no mid point. i thought she was cute when i first saw her in mv with zai zai. then when i saw her again in series with mike, i begin to find her irritating. for me it is her voice and her expression in that series. when i said voice i meant the way she sound or act in series not her voice. i think she have a good voice when i first hear her sing. better then alot of the new comer..............

Ariel has always been a good actress (and later, a good singer) in my eyes. Granted that her character in LC was not as endearing as in ISWAK, neverthelss, she felt natural and real. She didn't just recite the lines, she brought the character to live. In ISWAK, her cute factor wasn't her looks but her actions. Her little screw-ups and stubborn moments are so funny that I found her to be very cute.

I couldnt have said it better myself. Ariel is just really talented on screen. I just saw an episode of her on the talk show with HeiRen [not sure of the title] and they had this fun game where she has to act in Korean and she did it so perfectly. Lol, even for a moment, I actually thought she was a Korean actress. She's so multi talented and is so careful not to exaggerate her characters on screen.

I think Ariel is talented. She 's never over-react in her role. I was disturbed with Raine Yang's acting and facial expression in Devil Beside U. It was over-reacting. Just my 2 cents. Pardon me to all Rainie's fan. I think she's better as a host in talkshow.

She starred in a couple of Taiwanese series: 7th Grade, Love at 17 (or something along those lines), Secret Garden I & II, Love Contract, and It Started With A Kiss is her latest. She also starred in movies like Karate Girl, and Love Me If You Can (in which she was nominated for Golden Horse Awards in the best actress category). I might be missing some, but those credits are pretty impressive for me

Can't really tell who's better...they need to play in a more dramatic role...they both could do romantic comedy...not sure about melo dramatic roles such as Mars...

I agree with you, in Love Contract she does show more of her ability as an actress than what she does in this series, but she is still doing a great job in ISWAK.



I think Ariel would be able to take a serious character like the one Barbie had in Mars, but I'm not so sure about Rainie's acting since I've just seen Devil Beside You and Meteor Garden where she just had a very small role.

Come on people, why are we discussing Rainie at the Kiss thread,for those who are Rainie's fan( including me) let bring discussion about her to her thread and lets not compare the two. Lets get back to the series. I can't wait to see the relationship develop between the two character and I wuld love to see more of the families interaction together when they try and get the two together.

You are right. I was almost disapointed at the 5th ep : i expected that te relationship between the two of them would have developped. But i feel that the kiss isn't something that make them more intimate. Joe was just surprised when he realised what he did. And they didn't mention it later. Hope that the ep 6 is more interested and funny.

Me too. I would expect ZS to start have feelings for XQ. I mean...it's already episode 5 and there's only 14 episodes, it's about time he starts liking her. But after he kissed her, it seems like that was that and nothing more. Although the kiss was very cute, the aftermath was weird. They pretend like nothing has happened and that was the end of it. Weird..

I disagree, even though something inside of me wants to know how their relationship would develop I think this is the beauty of this story. This incident makes me want to know more and it makes me curious.

If he would start liking her this fast, the storyline wouldn't be as interesting as it is now.. Besides, don't we ignore things we want to forget or situations we feel embarrasset over? It's natural to ignore and pretend like nothing has happened when you don't know what else to do, something I think ZS is feeling right now...

this is still coming out slow, but it's so interesting, i love the love chemistry between the two main character. i can't believe that they are in high school goin to college, they look too mature to be A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Joe might look like he's too old to play the role of a senior in high school but I think that Ariel looks young enough that she can pull it off. She looks like she could belong in high school.

I first saw Ariel in True Love (The Deal is 18 Years-Old) and I thought that she was such a great and cute actress in it, so I watched Secret Garden and Love Contract b/c she was in it, but although she's a great actress (her acting is very real and natural) I just could not stand her characters in both of the shows. It annoyed the hell out of me. I couldnt go through with watching both of those dramas. She was so negative and irritaing in Love Contract even though her and Mike He made such a cute couple together.

*Note: not to diss any Secret Garden or Love Contract fans out there. This is just my own personal opinion on it.

She's always been one of my favorite T-actresses though (it's not her fault that the character that she had to play was suppose to be portrayed as irritating) so I don't blame her. I heard about this drama (ISWAK) sinced a year ago and I was so excited when I found out she was gonna be in it and I'm so happy that her role is a lot more lovable and I'm enjoying watching her as I did in True Love. As for her voice, I could see how some people would think it's annoying (t's kind of high pitched) but I'm use to hearing it and it has definitely grown on me.

After the kiss in ep. 5, did Joe stick out his tongue at Ariel because he was shocked at himself for kissing her and didn't want to admit that he liked her so he did that off the top of his head to make her think that he kissed her to spite her? To save himself the embarrasment of admitting his feelings for her? Or was it a calculated move all along to pay her back for embarassing him with the picture? What do you guys think?
