Well, you must really love all the TVB series that come out - they're all the leads, so you'd never be disappointed with any chemistry/storyline. I'm glad you're got Jess, Flora and Maggie there, they're definitely my favourites because they're experienced actresses who have played so many different roles. I'm putting my bet on Tavia to be one of the next 'fa dans' as she gains more experience.
I haven't been able to find any brilliant male actors though - the ones on your list are good actors, but I can't bring myself to call one my favourite. Roger comes the closest. Typically, I am a huge Louis Koo fan before he left TVB and still am.

My favourite TVB actors:
Moses Chan
Frankie Lam
Bobby Au Yeung
Steven Ma
Julian Cheung
Kevin Cheng
But I'm overall very neutral towards male actors, it actually depends on the role that they play but I reckon those actors are the one that have portrayed characters I like well.
My favourite TVB actresses:
Tavia Yeung
Jessica Hsuan
Annie Man

OK, in terms of acting, (I do like some actors merely because of their looks, ex. Frankie Lam 5555+)
My favorite actors
- Felix Wong
He's so versatile, he can play innocent, naive role in the legend of condor heroes, he can play cold-hearted character in lonely hunter, hard-working& self-sacrifice big brother in looking back into the anger, ruthless villain in the silver tycoon, etc. He's good at any roles.
- Kwong wah
Same as Felix, he's so versatile. He can portray both good, evil, cold-hearted, good-turn-evil, or the man who caught between two sides very well. I especially like his performance in "the secret battle of the majesty". It's the best performance I've ever seen in HK series.
- Simon Yam
He's good at both evil and righteous role. I can carry emotional scene quite well. I really luv him in the tragic role like on in war of the dragons
- Deric Wan
He's soooooo good in the evil role like the breaking point and looking back into the anger and then, minutes later you'll find out that he's so convicning as a super good dude in blood of good and evil .
- Tony Leung
He's the best Cheung mo kei, the best Wai Siu Bo. Do I need to say more?
- Mui Kiu Wai
He's the best in costume drama. He has that charisma! I don't see anyone can fit in ancient costume like him. He's very versatile too, can act both good and evil roles.
- Michael Tao
I always laugh with his character, cry with his character. He made me felt into his series! I really hated him when I watched the greed of men and then really love and support him in FOJ, DIF, and flamming brothers. He has really good crying skill too!
- Chilam Cheung
He has the BEST crying skill. I can remember the scene when he cried after knowing that Jessica commited suicide in "cold blood warm heart". He can act so hilarous in point of no return and others and he can act as cold-hearted killer at some parts in Remembrance. Also, he's so cute! I think he's the best looking guy in my list after all 5555+
- Gallen Lo
I don't think anyone doubt his acting skill, right?
Favorite Actresses
- Nnadia Chan
OK I know her acting skill is not that superb and I like her partly because of her background. But then her acting skill did improve so much lately, right? She's really good at innocence, sweet girl though.
- Kenix Kwok
The first time I saw her is in Remembrance. I think this is her first series and, man she's so great. She can act naturally. I daresay she's very talented. Then she acted so convinctly as a girl with two personalities in Shade of Darkness. You know her true identity is so b*t*hy but when the ghost used her body, she's so sweet.
- Maggie Siu
watch " conscience", she's so great there.
- Ada Choi
She's so versatile. She can act as very sweet girl like ones in All about tin, racing peak. Then she can be sooooo evil in revelation of the last hero and the link! She can also be so b*t*hy in the secret of heart . I think she's the best actress to portray the female villain.
- Noel Leung
Well, I know she usually portrayed sweet next-door-girl type but actually she's very versatile. she acted as evil Young Dowager in the fate of the last emperor and she did very good job there. She looks great in the costume drama!
-Amy Chan
She's such a talented actor. She can play any roles. More than that her body languages, expressions are excellent!
Ok long list enough.
-
gallen lo!!!!!
he's good in all kind of roles, and he expresses himself well....
roger kwok - pretty funny at times...
jessica hsuan - pretty good in her roles too...
ada choi - i think she can potray the character pretty well...esp in healing hands..

Frankly, never expected anyone to put Simon Yam on their lists like me.
Yeap, he looks good for his age. In fact, he played many series even before 5 tigers. He can play both rightneous hero and villain roles.

My personal faves in order are: Aaron Kwok, Deric Wan and Louis Koo...These guys are talented and good-looking...
BUT if we talk about acting talent, my list in order would be:
1. Tony leung
2. Andy Lau
3. Deric Wan
4. Roger Kwok
5. Gallen Lo
6. Ekin Cheng
7. Dicky Cheung
These actors are versatile in that they can be mold into any role and able to bring out the character alive, be it funny, serious, naive, good, or evil
Aaron and Luis are my fave hot dudes, but sorry they don't make my list of great actors because I truly do not think they can act that good (although Luis did made me cry in ATEII when Ada lost memory and forgot him and when he found out Michelle didn't betray him, his expression was so dramatic, it made me feel his pain and his joy...so in a way he was good in there, but other than that character, no other character that he acted leave an impression on me). Aaron also acted well as Bo King Wan in Storm Riders as the brooding loner, but that was it...he has no other roles that left an impression.

My favorite actor is Benny Chan. I love him so much.
I see that all of you don't choose him for the best actor of you. I'm sorry but I can't stop thinking why. He's so cute and lovely. Especially in some nearer series like: Whatever It Takes, or Reaching Out, or more... He's not so attractive and famous like Julian Cheung, Louis Koo, or someone like them... with everybody, not so good but we can't decide to say Benny is a good actor. Opposite to you, I think that Benny is very attractive, becase his acting and singing make me love him a lot. Hope some of you choose Benny Chan to your best or good actor. Poor him! He's really good and nice.

These aren't my favorite actors but I think their 'acting' stands out among the rest (minus the 5 Tigers because they are already on a pedestal

)
1. Derek Wan: He can play both good and villian roles. Back in the 90s when his popularity was high, he was casted in a lot of fantastic series (sorry I dunno the English titles for most of them) - 城市故事 (Sing See Goo Si), 陳夢吉 (Chan Mone Gut), 我本善良 (Ngor Boon Seen Leung), 義不容情 (Looking Back in Anger), and 今生無悔 (Gum Sung Moe Fui). Feel kinda bad that he got involved in all those scandals that tainted his image, now he isn't very popular with both tvb management and the public.
2. Gallen Lo: Again he's very versatile. I was most impressed with him in 難兄難弟 (Old Time Buddy).
3. Maggie Cheung, Flora Chan, Sheren Teng, Maggie Siu

Wow...this is hard. I have personal favorites, but they're by no means the best in acting. If I had to choose the ones with the most talent, I'd probably have to go back to the 80s and beyond, but I grew up in the 90s, so my knowledge of artists before then is severely lacking. However, I like Felix, Andy, Tony, and Michael of the 5 tigers (never seen Kent). I also like Angie/Gigi Chiu and Maggie Siu. I also like Sheren Tang, but I've only seen her in Heaven Sword Dragon Sabre and War and Beauty (yeah, I know. Big gap), but she was great in both.
Of the 90s...narrowing it down to one male and one female, I'd go with
Gallen Lo and
Mariane Chan. They both blow me away most consistently. All I can say about them is "wow". Actually, come to think of it, I don't think Mariane had too many series... Still, she was amazing in all of them.
Of the new millenium, I don't know. I haven't really seen tremendous talent in anyone. Sad.

And just for fun, my current favorites (no real logic behind this whatsoever):
MaleLouisDave (Wong)
Alex (Fong Chung Sun)
FemaleJessicaAnnie
Fiona (Yuen Choi Wan)
Bernice
For some reason, I'm really neutral toward actors. I don't really half as strongly about the actors I listed as I do about the actresses (except Louis

). No idea why that is.
Ooh, I like Yuen Wah, too.

there many many good actors and actresses i think... but i prefer:
Actrors:
Dayo Wong- hes soo hilarious.. i just cant get enough of him in lam chan loi oi? (cantonese spelling not sure if correct =D)
Bobby- hes good in acting the character he was assigned to be
Roger Kwok- he really impressed me in the one w/ jessica
Kevin Cheng- i really enjoyed him in the movie w/ flora and niki chow
Raymond Lam- hes starting to be really good..
Julian Cheung
Actresses:
Myolie Wu- shes quiet cute in acting.. and emotional
Kenix Kwok
Ada Choi
Charmaine Sheh
Sonija Kwok
I grew up watching the 80s series...So I like the older generation way better than the new ones and not being biased, they're way more talented also. The 90s are great too! As for the new comers, I do like some but they're no where as talented as the older generations.
Actors :
Tony Leung (I love all his series, he was so great! And he still looks good now!)
Micheal Miu Kiu Wai ( He looks soo good in ancient series. Gotta be the all time best looking actor imo)
Andy Lau (not a great fan of his but gotta admit he can act!)
Felix ( same as Andy)
Chow Yun Fat (His acting was superb! Well, he's probably before the 80s, not sure)
Derek Wan ( He can play pretty much any role. Good or evil. He's probably the best actor in playing the villian!

)
Stephen Chow
Dicky Cheung
Gallen Lo
Leon Lai
Jacky Cheung
Bobby Au Yeung
Wong Hei
Roger Kwok
Actresses:
Barbara Yung
Angie Chiu
Maggie Cheung Mun Yuk
Kitty Lai
Maggie Siu
Joey Wong
Fannie Yuen
Ada Choi (she's probably the most versatile actress. Like Derek, she can play good and evil roles so well. The best female villian!)
Jessica Suen
Kenix Kwok
I also like Louis Koo, Julian Cheung, Raymond Lam, Michelle Ye, Gillian Chung, Edison Chen, Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue but their acting are definitely not great. Well, Raymond is really improving though and Louis and Julian are not bad.

Males:
-Chow Yun Fat
-Tony Leung Chiu Wai
-Adam Cheng
-Gallen Lo
-Roger Kwok (love ah wong! roger can evil, funny, smart, mentally disabled, and everything in between!
-Raymond Lam (new but he is definately an improving actor. and it clearly shows.
-Vic Chou (i cannot get enough out of his performance in Mars. His character was so complicated yet he was able to act it out great. plus he had to act as 2 different characters that are twins but have completely different personalities.)
-Deric Wan (great villain. but can also act great as a good guy)
-Nick Cheung
Females:
Maggie Cheung Man Yuk
Anita Mui (lots of onscreen charisma. She can be funny and dramatic.)
Jessica Hsuan
Myolie Wu (performance in Golden Faith was awesome. however i do not like her in her silly roles... she has potential to be a great actress but the right roles aren't given out to her in my opnion)
After reading everyones list, I have various feelings.
If you like an actor, because of his/her look, because it's your idol even because the role he/she ever played which you liked very much, can cause you're saying that he/she is great at acting. Sorry for some posters: in my eyes Gallen Lo, Ekin Chen or ChiLam aren't good actors.
A good actor is in my definition someone who has a wide "acting-range". A evil role can make you very angry and a good person role can make you emotional. There are some roles which are portrayed so good by some actors, even after many many years everyone still remember that role(name)/actor and maybe that moment from a series/movie.
As far as I can read, Barbara Yung as Wong Yong is so popular that you just can't say she isn't great at acting. Everyone can remember Tony Leung's Wai Siu Bo. Adam Chen's Chor Lau Heung, Ting Hay. The short period when Alex Man (with DoDo Chen) make a couple of series at TVB.
Everyone only mentioned popular (leading role) actors. There's also some small roles by great (old) actors which made the series so attractive and good.
Some examples:
Lau Chong Yan (the good friend who was killed by Ting Hay)
Kwan Hoy Saan (aka Ha Sok, the old man)
Lau Taan (as the good the North Beggar in LOTCH and also as the evil Fung King Yiw in the Bund)
Ha Yu
Lee Heung Kam
Fong Seu Fan
Chen Kong (Ken Chen? The one who played the East Wicked in LOTCH'83)
Tan Big Wan
Shek Kin
Chen Chat Si
Liu Kay Chi
Neu Leung Wai
Ng Man Tat
Lo Hoy Paan
And many many other "small" actors who are really great.

hrm.. I beg to differ.. I would first like to ask whether you watched "Shades of Truth"..?
If you have.. I am astounded that you don't find Chilam a good actor..
ok.. maybe in the No Return series he was mediocre.. well that whole show -- in my eyes-- was mediocre..
I just find it ironic how you define a good actor.. because in SOT Chilam played a good and a bad guy.. and was believable in both -made me feel emotional-.. also with elements of ancient-day scenes
given the fact that he is first a singer.. I think he's worth being noted as being great at acting..

I dont think Ekin Cheng is a good actor at all. I can see him being very good looking. Gallen Lo is pretty good tho, definitely not a bad actor.
My list includes.
Males
Felix Wong(Wong Yat Wa)
Andy Lau (Lau Tak Wa)
Tony Leung (Leung Chiu Wai)
Simon Yam(Yam Tat Wa)
(i think these 4 legendary actors are well known and an obvious choice)
some other leading roll actors.
Adam Cheng (Cheng Siu-Chow) - im not a big fan of him, but there is no doubt he is a great actor.
Chau Yun Fat - Most famous in the Bund
Damian Lau (Lau Chung-Yan) - i think this guy is ugly but he is such a great actor!
Alex Man - good actor
Patrick Tse(Tse Yin) - Great, great actor. He is the best King of Gambler ever! sorry Chow Yung Fat.
Steven Chow - The funniest HK actor ever. He overacts sometimes but he is still the best.
some really good supporting actors (kelefe)
Kenneth Tsang (Tsang Kong) - he plays some really good supporting acting rolls
Dan Lau - Same as Kenneth Tsang, he plays some great older rolls
Kwan Hoi-San - I think he is the best Old actor ever, he plays in so many movies.
Actresses, man thats even harder...

a great actor that i recently noticed is moses chan... this guy can basically play any role... funny and sincere in "the gentle crackdown", arrogant and mean in "healing hands 2 & 3"... he switches attitudes so many times that it's kinda hard to figure out what he's like in reality, but in the interviews and functions you can tell he's a funny and silly person...

actors:
wong hei: oh man... this guy takes my heart away with his acting! he's just superb... he plays serious roles magnificently, he can carry on that 'i'm-all-about-business' roles and then he can be caring and humerous.... i just love him to bits
julian cheung: he is just an amazing actor... and his ability to cry! geez! in every series that he has to cry, he just absolutely breaks my heart... and i can totally believe him... and he has great charisma too... and such good chemistry with his co-stars...
actresses:
jessica hsuan: she's very convincing in her roles and i think she acts very well... her reactions are realistic and the transitions are nice too.. she seems to be very comfortable with her roles...
charmaine sheh: she's kinda like julian cheung for me in the sense that whenever she cries, she is able to get me to empathize with her completely... and, she seems to have good chemistry with her costars, and very pretty...

well, he doesn't really act in TVB series, but my personal favourite is ANTHONY WONG CHAU SANG. he's amazing on screen. very versatile and makes the movie better no matter how stupid the script is. his interviews are very amusing as well^^* i'd love to hear what he has to say about ron ng and the other newbies.

but i actually didnt like wong he..before..but the more series..i see him in..i actually havta..admit..he's a really talented actor..even without the looks..he's very keen on doing his best job..like in net deception or the fire series...i also like BOBBY..au yeung hehe..he's truly a great actor..but just the series..he's in that makes him boring and unable to bring his talent out i seriously think he's one of the best..and true actor out there..i luv his genuine laugh and everything..and well chi lam..is an average actor..like funny but more pplz like his looks rather than his acting...and i actually really liked lam ca dung..but he also left..he was also pretty funny..and my fav..actor..of all times is STEVEN CHOW..chow sing chee..hehe..cracks..me up..all the time..no matter..wat he says..he's so funny..man..! newayz...um but he exaggerates a little too much..nick cheung is also a pretty good actor
moses (he can actually act...fairly well...but in real life..he's really plain and quiet)
oh as well as gong wa, he can evil or as the good guy..great..actor..or same as louis koo and raymond lam haha..and bosco wong..hahaha..i have too many to list
female actresses:
tavia yeung (i think she has worked very hard to be where she is..i've seen her as kay la fei..in a lot of series..before..becoming lead and side actresses)
charmaine sheh (i've always liked her cute acting..even though she may act the same..but still liek her cute character)
leila tong (she's also the next cute character..and i look forward..to all series..made by her)
myolie wu (she is by far..my fav actress so far..for sun yun i'm not talking about..the best..all the female actresses i like) but newayz..she's really cute and real!
flora chan (she is defnitely a good actress.can be very emotional..adn real at times)
jess hsuan
ada choi

If I choose a best at acting, I'll choose Tony Leung. He is a great actor, sure!
But my idols, no, my luv now is Raymond Lam. Just because he is the only one young actor of TVB who know how to act.

Gallen Lo~
His acting is almost flawless~
He can act evil, superbly good and kind type of character, great businessman, comedy, and even can acts well as a vegetable seller/postman(in 7 sister) / village head (in mr diana)... ...and more
