don't think zaizai looks dumb, he looks soo handsome!!! Lolz…
Like zaizai and sherry, I'm really quiet when I'm angry… I have never been angry in my whole life…
so I think I'm just a volcano waiting to erupt if somebody really tests my patience.. Kinda scary huh?
But unlike Zaizai, sometimes, I bring my depression to work… hmmm.. He could be my inspiration… (but he already is.. Lolz )

we could see that jerry is really a perfectionist in everything that he does.. I don't want to eat with Jerry.. because sometimes I order a lot of food but I don't eat all of them.. (bad dianne… lolz ).. And if I have the chance to eat with Jerry, I might not eat a lot because by then i would be pretty conscious.. hehehehe...

That's what I like with Vanness.. He can be diverse at times… he can be pretty fashionable at one moment and very simple the next..
Being an ABC, he's more open minded on certain things so I don't think we should take it against him…
Vanness is pretty competitive.. He has dreams and he is very willing to work hard to achieve them.. Jia You!!!

Wow.. Ken is pretty generous isn't he.. Wish he'd given me the necklace instead.. Hehehehe.. Maybe I should apply as his bodyguard when he comes here in the Philippines… I can be very protective.. I could hug him all the time..Lolz…
And maybe I could let him cook dishes for me.. (just wishing.. Lolz..)

2/9 F4 might attend the Pepsi Music Chart

F4 might attend the Pepsi Music Chart this year. If everything goes smoothly, the crew would get them to attend this event as award presenters. If this is confirmed, it would be the first time where they are getting together again after they are separated.

ENERGY BETTER OFF COMPARED TO 5566 THAN F4?

In the business, what is the most prized possession of an artist?
Vanness, a popular celebrity from the popular group in Asia, F4.
Recently, Vanness and the other F3 have been in headlines for negative
criticisms and negative news. Jerry Yan in a headline going solo and
leaving F4 behind. ZZ being put in a malicious act, has been victimized
by internet users, commonly known as "i'm zz" from online chats and
forums asking for money and *** from teens idolizing F4. Vanness has also
been targeted by false accusations that his Star Runner Movie was not
a box-office hit, and that the whole F4 group is already disbanding
when in the first place, they were never a group. They were just formed
because of Meteor Garden. And fans from then on learned to love them
as F4 and not just casts of the phenomenal series. Energy, one of the most
popular group is instead being compared to 5566 rather than F4, which only
means, 5566 is maybe more popular than F4?
YOur comment on Energy "We are better off compared to 5566 than F4"
What is his reaction?

According to Vanness, after all these news,
is it possible to remain peaceful if someone destroys one of his prized
possessions?

"Peace is my prized possession. I don't have a say about the comparison
between 5566 and Energy. Both of them are friends, and I am dismayed by
the fact that we are being compared and thus, you can hear a lot of
negative remarks from one fan to another which undoubtedly hurt us.
People keep on making judgements on us. In a business like this, we cannot
set aside the fact that one artist will be compared to another one, that
is professional rivalry and a health competition, sometimes you have to
join the competition to improve your craft. Energy and 5566 are both
groups that require more dance steps, F4 as a group is more on poppie-ballad.
Our group is friends with everyone!
we don't have any problem dealing with the situation, we are also ordinary
people who believe that competition should not be taken seriously and let it
affect our respective lives, we all do work for ourselves, for the group
for our fans and for our families.

What is to be gained from losing my peaceful nature, and what benefit
is there in acting in a calm and rational way? If I have all the wealth I
desire, name, fame and glory yet am without health, happiness and peace
of mine, can I enjoy that wealth? And what value does it really have if
I cannot enjoy it? Peace of mind is one of my most prized possessions, I may
spend my whole life looking for it, yet I will allow the most incident to
rob me of whatever little peace I may possess. After all the rumors
circulating anywhere, if I succumb to anger, then just observe how
much energy is being used in a destructive manner.
WHy not use that energy instead in a more creative manner? If something
has been taken from me, like what I said my peace of mind,
instead I'll try to learn the appropriate lesson and move ahead.
In this business, you need to learn how to be strong! Your strength will
move you forward, and my anger or tears absorbing this news will not
resolve the situation"

Mavy_ah in Kenzhufamily posted:

Hey everyone. I went to Joed Serrano's office last Sunday to pay for
my VIP ticket. Anyway, I was able to meet Joed personally and got a
chance to chat with him for quite a long while. He told me the guests
for the concert would be the Starstruck survivors, Sarah Geronimo,
Erik Santos and Pops, who's going to sing "Crazy in Luv" w/ Vanness.
I don't know if this is already confirmed but this is what he told
me. By the way, the title of the concert is "Crazy Right Now with
Vanness". Sarah Geronimo will be part of the front act and i think
Vanness is planned to sing 10 songs, excluding the Crazy in Luv. He
will also be singing some English songs. Joed will be hosting the
event (basically he'll just talk in the opening).

By the way, i also asked him stuffs about Ken last Dec26, since i am
a Ken fan myself. This is what he said:

"At first akala ko mabaho si Ken pero nung niyakap namin siya, ang
bango niya talaga at sobrang friendly niya backstage!" (At first i
thought Ken doesn't have a nice smell but when we hugged him onstage,
he really smelled good! And he was extremely friendly backstage!)

Additional stories (some words I translated to eng):

Ken's solo concert will be on May. =) According to Joed they're
looking for a smaller venue to be more "intimate" hehe... =) I told
him to ask Ken to sing Desperado & Qing Ren... Joed said "yes"...
haha =) But im not sure if would remember it.

Jerry's is set to be here on April 29-30. People who manage Jerry are
strict. They only want him to sing 4 songs so it might be a semi-
fashion show type of concert. =) hehe...

Then, in July, it's the four of them again. All their next concerts
will be handled by Mega Media, particularly Joed. =) By the way sis,
according to Joed, they are very particular with gifts. (RB: Joed,
duh?! I dunno with F3, but Jerry wears the shirt give by fans, ayt?)
Vann liked the expensive white polo he gave last Dec26. They are
brand conscious. And Ken got the Lacoste paperbag (RB: This could be
the Lacoste bag thrown in the stage by a fan while Ken was singing).
=) Hayyyyy.....

We talked a lot of things but I don't remember them all because I can
only think how he hugged Ken during the concert. Btw, watch out for
Joed at the concert, as he will have his hair cut like Vanness!
Hahahaha =)

wonder if this info is true...we'll have to wait and see, maybe vann will say something about ken's and jerry's concerts...i'm just wondering why they didn't mention vic =(

F4 (Jerry Yan, Vaness Wu, Ken Zu & Vic Zhou)

Leave it to sociologists to explain how a crew of
lanky Taiwanese boys launched a thousand Oh Baby Babys
reverberating all throughout the archipelago. Jerry
Yan, Vaness Wu, Ken Zu & Vic Zhou proved why they were
so popular in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong
Kong, and even the Chinese mainland, where Meteor
Garden is banned by the central government. Must be a
growing dissatisfaction with Western cultural
hegemony. Or the tension-filled plot of Meteor
Garden. Or probably just the cool haircuts. When
Jerry Yan a.k.a Dao Ming Su (a.k.a the latest Bench
endorser, worth 40 Million pesos) came to the
Philippines in November, he almost had the status of a
state visitor, with an enthralled Palace reception &
media devotion.

3. THE YEAR OF BREAKING UP (Best of the Best SHOWBIZ

Includes:

"Oh baby baby, my baby baby"

Now for the other phenomenal soap on TV - Meteor
Garden. From Mari Mar, the country went crazy over
Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men, Mei Zhuo & Shan Cai.
The series, about 4 cute, long-haired Taiwanese boys,
premiered on the dead timeslot of 4pm on May 5. By
May 6, it was rating close to 40%. When it was moved
closer to early primetime, 5:30 pm, just before TV
Patrol, it was rating close to 50%! Meteor Garden
Rewind, on the other hand, aired before MTB on
Saturdays & ASAP on Sundays, was rating on the
neighborhood of 45 & 48% - and those are replays!

All of a sudden, every kid wa singing Chinese songs,
plastering his (or even his) walls with posters of F4.
"The Event" - the concert which featured 2 of the F4,
Vanness & Ken, and the duo ASOS - was sheer
pandemonium. "Happy 50 TV" the concert, featuring
Jerry & Vic, set sales records, despite tickets at
P10,000 (~US$ 200) and even P15,000 (~US$ 300). This
created a bit of controversy; many frowned at such
super-expensive tickets.

MUSIC) - text by Lourd de Vera

Article includes:

The year's most raucous show was not the NU 107 Rock
Awards or any punk rock or trash metal shebang. It
was the first F4 concert at the Ultra Football Station
last September. Scores were hurt after a horde of
drenched & eager fans tore down the barricades &
spilled into the front row, to the shock of the
Binondo elite. And that wasw just half of F4,
unquestionably
Asia's most popular boy band, at a time when groups
like Boyzone & Westlife are almost contemplating
retirement. The more popular Jerry Yan & Vic Zhou
followed only months later, with Yan - better known to
millions as MG heartthrob Dao Ming Si - being received
by screaming mobs at the NAIA (airport) & Malacanang.
For a large part of 2003, one of the most popular sons
on the airwaves has been F4's Baby Baby (Cant Lose
You), a song heard almost everywhere from noontime
shows to videoke bars to jeepneys. This was the year
when we witnessed something bizaare: millions of
Pinoys memorizing entire songs in Mandarin. But then
there's the question of how long one can stand
repeated exposure to a phrase like "Oh baby baby ..."
without developing homicidal feelings.

November - includes: Meteor Garden's Jerry Yan

5566 NO LIMIT FOR F4

THEY made the most unlikely idols. A passe Hokkien pop star, a forgotten boyband member, a former national soccer hero and two unknown faces.

But, combined, they have enough boyband horsepower to make F4 sweat.

Say hi to 5566, the latest pop sensation hailing from the land of pretty boys.

If you're scratching your head and wondering, 'Is that a 4D number?', you're not alone.

Yet the dauntless quintet, who catapulted to fame on the strength of the idol drama, My MVP Valentine, has declared war on F4 by releasing its debut album two weeks before the latter's sophomore outing.

The result? Shocking.

While F4 is busy serenading fanatical fans in Hong Kong and China, 5566 is quietly hogging the No 1 spot on Taiwan's CD sales chart.

In just two weeks, it has sold over 100,000 copies of its first album - titled, er, First Album.

F4's Fantasy 4 Ever, however, only made it to No 3, despite pre-sale orders of 30,000 copies.

Here in Singapore, the two pop groups are also locked in a neck-to-neck battle.

F4 made its debut at No 3 on the Recording Industry Association Singapore CD sales chart last week, one notch above 5566.

Their respective soundtracks - F4's Meteor Garden II and 5566's My MVP Valentine - are tied at ninth position.

So how did 5566 manage to rock F4's boat?

After all, the quintet, which was discovered by SET TV, was hardly in the news as a result of competition among rival TV stations.

But despite the lack of media exposure, their talents shone through.

5566, which comprises Tony Sun, Zac Wang, Jason Hsu, Sam Wang and Rio Pang, has proven that it lives up to its name.

FIVE GUYS, SIX TALENTS

Basically they are five guys with six talents - namely singing, acting, dancing, hosting, modeling and slamdunking - which has earned them the respect of many fans.

Touted as Taiwan's answer to Japan's oldest boyband Smap, the party of five has also become the role model for showbiz wanabes.

Mr James Kang, regional marketing and promotions manager for Music Street, which distributes 5566's album, said: '5566 represents the various ideals of young people.

'It demonstrates that a well-rounded array of talents is necessary to hit the big time.'

Meanwhile, F4's Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Zhu and Vanness Wu have yet to convince critics that they can hold a tune.

Dancing-wise, only the US-born Vanness can move to the groove.

The others are either transfixed to the ground or sway their bodies like stiff robots.

Hosting? Don't even think about it. The last we saw them on TV, the guys were just too tongue-tied.

5566's wacky Zac and goofy Jason, however, managed to turn the ratings of Showbiz around and make it the most popular entertainment programme in Taiwan.

They have a big following, which includes many loyal Singaporeans who tune in to the programme shown on Channel U every morning.

Unlike F4, who drive mostly pubescent girls crazy, 5566 appeals to both guys and girls.

In fact, the president of its official fan club in Taiwan is as macho as his idols.

Singaporean Ms Karen Chan, an administrator in her 20s, is such a big fan of Tony's that she set up a website dedicated to him and flew to Taipei recently to attend 5566's press conference.

'Each of the guys sings very well, and each has his own style,' she told The New Paper.

'They are really all-rounded. Not many groups are like them.'

Comparisons aside, is 5566 feeling the heat of competing with F4?

Tony, who leads the group, said: 'Healthy competition among groups is okay.'

3/11Jerry&Van-same line,ZZ&Ken-Unlimited spotlight

Jerry and Vanness on the same line, ZZ and Ken - Unlimited spotlight.

Enemies
Jerry and Vanness have yet to finalise their contract with Fu Long, whether they are going or leaving is hard to say. Fu Long are afraid that they pair will have bad effects if they do not sign soon. Hence, from 2003, Fu Long has been seeing them as enemies.

Battle Code: Can't Get You, Destroy You
Fu Long hates and loves Jerry. He is definitely a endless well of gold, with endless wealth. Amongst F4, the most popular is Jerry and Vic but in terms of commercial favouritism, it definitely falls towards Jerry. Jerry's fans are older and more financially able females. In Taiwan, he is "auntie-killer" and "white-collar killer". Commercialists understand the buying power of Jerry's fans. Up until now, commercials contracts for Jerry has been non-stop and Fu Long's gold storage has risen dramatically.

The hate is because Jerry does not listen and obey. In the company's eyes artists are a money making tool, I want you to sing, you must go on stage. But, Jerry's "blood sucking managers" opened up a scary side to managing companies. Jerry said at that time that he would definitely not renew his contract. Can't let others get the goods, so if Jerry decides not to stay, Fu Long habe adopted the theory "can't get you, destroy you."

Since last year March 8th HK Charity concert, Jerry disappeared for over 6 months. It was not until the filming of <<Magical Kitchen>> that he reappeared. Fu Long used the excuse that Jerry went away to recharge to cover the fact that they are freezing him. This actually was not the fact, he just stayed in Taiwan, with nothing to do.

Battle Method: Push Him Down
Freezing is just a small issue, by combining forces with the media, they are trying to "kill" Jerry. Fu Long is the big brother of Taiwan Entertainment, so of course, they have relations with every level of media. They attack Jerry at the most 'deadly' places, releasing bad news until Jerry was on the verge of collapse. Jerry must be kept down.

During Jerry's 'frozen' phase, there was news that he was dating the mafia princess, being nasty to co-workers etc...Apparently, all these news were spread by Fu Long. In addition, they also fully attacked Jerry's new movie. Even though the movie didn't create histry, but the box office of over $50 million in Asia is not bad. However, such good news for artists that are about to leave the management is bad news for the management. Fu Long have released news that "ticket sales are not good" and trying to get all media to spread that Jerry's is "ticket sales poison".

Battle Method: Defamation
However, Jerry did not bow to Fu Long, Jerry has told the management that he wants to development independently and strongly rejects any renewal. Fu Long knows that they can't keep Jerry, so they try to make him the villain that is trying to take apart F4. They spread news about Jerry not getting along with F3. This way, they kill 2 birds with 1 stone, they won't get the blame for F4 falling apart, but also ruin Jerry's reputation in the mean time.

Attack Method: Shua Tai Ji
Fans have taken many measures to attack Fu Long in questing their actions of 'freezing' up Jerry. They put adverts in papers, sending mass faxes and letters chasing the media. Fu Long's way to avoid questioning was: "We have not frozen our artists, Jerry is recording his album, which will be out in August." However, August came and went, no sign of Jerry. Fans start another battle and again, Fu Long plays hide and seek: "Jerry is reading scripts and will take part in a big movie." It was only until September that Jerry re-appeared, but there was no album. Fu Long is responsible for all album issues, Sony just release it, but due to the stiff relationship between Jerry and his management...no album will just be pushed out the way.

Rescue: Commercial dealers, Lin Jian Lu
Apparently, Jerry's re-appearance was all due to commercial dealers and Lin Jian Lu's support. Fu Long wanted Jerry to disappear forever, but due to contracts signed, they had to let Jerry re-appear. Mostly of the activities that Jerry attended after September were organised by the sponsors or the movie company. apparently, the movie <<Magial Kitchen>> was to star Ken but the investor of the movie, Lin Jian Lu stressed that he wants Jerry. In the end, Fu Long gave up and signed Jerry. After filming and promotions, Jerry expressed his thankfulness towards the cast and crew saying that it's been his happiest filming experience ever.

Vanness

Battle Code: Let you either make or destroy yourself
Vanness has not renewed his contract with Fu Long either. After he joined Fu Long, he has not been given many opportunities either. Fu Long doesn't have any real plans for him, so they let him make or destroy himself.

Battle Method: Give Up
Most of Vanness' activities in 2003 was focused his movie Star Runner. He lived mostly overseas, and Fu Long arranged this to make him disappear from the Taiwan market. Vanness has never been close with Fu Long and now that his contract is up, they are afraid he will team up with Jerry, so they use the method: "rather kill wrongly than miss."

Battle Method: Benefit Show
Apparently, Vanness' stil undecided. Hence, Fu Long presents for his fans, the idea that he will release a Xie Zhen Ji and second album, in hopes that he will renew. The motive is obvious, if Vanness renews, his future is unlimited, if not, then he will face the same obstacles as Jerry.

ZZ

Battle method: Make You Number 1
Before Jerry's issue went off track, the manager's favourite was Jerry. Even though they say they are fair, it's obvious that he's favoured. When they came out with their First Year Anniversary magazine, Jerry's part was the heaviest and took the most weight. However, after the Jerry affair, 'number 2' ZZ will take over Jerry's role as the favourite.

Battle Method: Take Over
Fu Long has said many times that Jerry and Ken's album will be released at the beginning of this year. However, there has been no real news. According to Hk reports, Jerry's album was completed end of last year but due to many reasons, it has yet to be released. Rather, it's ZZ that managed to take over and successfully release another album.

Battle Method: Inflate
ZZ's new album was released for 1 week and Fu Long comes out with a celebration party that he has sold 500 000 albums, labelling him as "Asia's Sales King". However, Taiwan's record sales always loves to play with numbers and inflate the numbers so that it's now a 'legitimate' way. However, ZZ's sales inflation was over the top. It was deflated by 5566, who said: "We are not like some artists, who's album sold 500 000 instantaneously upon release, inflation is ok, but don't exaggerate." Apparently, the sales figures were more along the lines of 30 000 in Taiwan, which didn't even break the top 10.

Battle Method: Taiwan's Number One
After MG2, Angie Cai has been faced with criticisms and losing her grasp on "golden producer". She plans to film over 200 hours of serial in the next two year. ZZ has become the 200 hours actor. From Love Storm to MARS, Angie has tried all she can to make ZZ Taiwan's number one. Angie Cai announced that ZZ will be paid RMB$40 000 per episode for MARS, making it the first in Taiwan. Mother Cai really knows how to calculate, it not only acts as promotion for the serial but gives ZZ the name of "highest paid in Taiwan". Whether this is really the case in their actual deal, no one really knows.

Ken

Battle Code: No other choice
To Fu Long Ken is "favourless when tasted but, a shame to throw away." He has signed up with Fu Long for 10 years, Fu Long wants to develop him into a money tree. They often use him as the lead in serials and in F4's first movie, he was the lead actor. However, after leaving F4, Ken's like a fish without water. Fu Long is without choices, so they give him the first shot at filming in Mainland China, hoping that he can make a recovery.

wow...this article really put me in complete confusion...i no longer know what to believe anymore...the article sounds kinda convincing though ...what they write makes some sense...however i don't want to believe that fu long is that type of company. but if they are, i will totally support jerry and vanness if they don't resign. if that is indeed what they did, i am very very very upset at how the entertainment world is. i didn't know that it was this bad, their ways of 'handling' things. it annoys me to think that all they want is money, money is the most important and how they must "destroy you if they can't get you" if jerry really has been in taiwan for 6 months i really feel that jerry would be better off creating his own company because like someone in onlyjerry or onlyf4 said, this actually might be better because then f4 might have a better chance of working together. but again i don't know if this is all true or not, i'm really very confused @.@

"It's not Coming Back" - Energy

Jerry Yan looks to have sunk the final nail into the coffin of
F4, after admitting he "can't see it coming back together", but we
can still work together in a certain limitation"

Vanness - the only member of the former successful boyband, F4 to have
enjoyed a notable solo career - appears to have confirmed months of
speculation about the future of the band and is now project of his
upcoming 2nd solo album.

Energy member Kunda quoted: "A lot have gone on and have risen, a lot of
groups have come with respective projects and activities, and F4 have not
been talking in quite awhile to form another group activity in taiwan
or even in hongkong, no one has ever invited them as groups because fans
know they are no longer a group and will never be a group, so to be really
honest, I don't think anything's going to happen with that group to be
formed again as F4!."

Since embarking on his solo venture, Vanness has consummately
overshadowed his fellow F4 members in their attempts to carve
out successful careers alone especially in America where Vanness targets to
invade pretty soon.

ZZ has been in taiwan charts since the release of his 2nd solo album, but
Ah Di (Energy) was quick to comment "His single Ji De Wo Ai Ni had come in
sharp contrasts to 5566's single, whose careers are blooming, and
Chou's singles or the whole album was in a disastrous chart placing .

In the interview, Kunda concludes: "I don't know what's going on
to be honest, but I can't see it coming back together, by no fault of
anyone."

Asked about 5566 success in Singapore and Taiwan.
Kunda admitted "they have conquered the hearts of chinese people, they
are the real successful group in taiwan, and even in hongkong, but we
Energy are not left behind"

IT'S OVER FOR F4, BUSINESS IS OURS - MILK

"The business is over here," Niu Nai, 23, also known as Milk from the Group Energy stretched
his left hand out! "And the artistry... he continued "is over"!
Inspired by the success of the 80's breakdancing Management of Energy decided to recruit
and groom the 5 boys hippie own-cut boyband.
Energy best known for its hip-hop acts, and break-a-leg performances was coaxed into
signing as one of the groups to beat F4. Their revivals hit in Asia,
with a different tune, harmony laden pop step and the alternative rock of the time.

When teenybopper bands like the F4 and 5566 began to succeed in Asia,
Management decided to turn the table upside down and decided to beat F4 and 5566!
But the popularity of F4 wore down skeptics at radio stations and MTV.
When the album didn't cross the million marks in sales, it heralded the cultural arrival
of Generation 2000, as Energy has beaten F4, and is now ready to beat the best among the
taiwan Artist, 5566.

Due to Ren Fu Zax Wang comment about the queueng of 5566 fans for the autograph session, he
was misunderstood by fans of Energy and Niu Nai reiterated "If 5566 think they were the only
group who can make fans queue longer, they are wrong, if they made it the first ever to make
a history of such crowd, Energy can somehow beat that too, they can be the best group now,
but watch out for Energy, we are not left behind, there are only 2 groups competiting, it's
5566 and Energy"

Shu Wei added "5566 has the force and no doubt for the explosion in teens and adults of their
purchasing power in Asia, we are starters, if 5566 succeed so high, we can also do the same thing,
It's only a professional rivalry, nothing personal, Ren Fu knows that"

As with nearly all sudden pop sensations, a conflict soon grew between the F4 group,
who wanted time off to relax and find perspective, and the business forces behind them,
who wanted to keep the momentum going.

"F4 never got so big they got tired," Kun da said. "And after a while, it became not
about managing them but reasoning with them. Everybody in the group wanted to be popular, wanted
to become hot, matters grew worse, nobody managed to give in" Literally, a group that has no
harmonious relationship, and always battle each everyone turns to be un-solid and break up, they
lost its drive"

Meanwhile, Energy works hard and deserves the breakthrough.

IS IT THE END? WILL YOU BE THERE?

A prediction came out since the time boybands conquered the
entertainment industry, and it is a proven formula ...boybands have a
lifespan of two years, the maximum!.
Their second album Fantasy Forever never did well as compared to the
# of sales of their 1st album! Their solo albums also didn't do well,
it sold but not a record-breaking sales!

After their second album flopped, after it didn't reach the # of
sales expected in the whole ASIA
F4 thought of putting and setting aside doing a group album, and as
for soloists, Vanness and Ken are now thinking of a better ingredient
for their 2nd try out solo albums.

F4 was nearing to a disband as a group and go back to their normal
life! It was mainly proven by New Kids on the Block, then to be
succeeded by several other boyband attempts such as Take 6, Menudo,
Color Me Badd, etc. It seems almost like boybands have a curse on
them.

Boybands died in the early nineties, mainly in part to the huge
breakup of NKOTB. The peppy pop sound was replaced by grunge and hard
rock for several years. The creators of NKOTB decided that there was
a new generation of teenyboppers to appeal to now. Old enough to have
been influenced by the NKOTB but young enough not to have been
scarred by the bitter aftereffects. 'Nsync and BSB next in line to go
on separate ways, others succeeded, but not everyone in the band.
Now, a new generation of talents arose in 2000! Because of their
catchy tunes and awesome dance moves, Double 5 Double 6, also known
us 5566, bagged as 5 members with 6 talents,
Sun Xie Zhi, Wang Ren Fu, Peng Kang Yu, Xu Meng Zhe and Wang Shao Wei
soon caught up and battled their competition frequently. 5566 and F4
fans have often dueled on their attributes,
on who's better or not. In such talents, like that of F4 and 5566,
there is always an ongoing rivalry without them knowing that both
groups have already conquered the ASian market, because a rival and a
competitor will not be as sold out in asian market if they have not
carried a name for themselves. They will never be talked about if
they are just plain "F4 or 5566 who?" Fans tangle, fans make noises,
fans compare on who is better than who, But...neither of which coming
up the winner except in their own minds.

F4 might come to a point where they feel they can manage themselves
eventually or if they know it is TIME for them to work individually,
but that doesn't mean that they will forever be gone! Now are they
permanently leaving each other's suitcase? Everyone was quiet about
it, everyone doesn't even want to comment, but all the cards are
properly laid down, it is just you, who could feed your mind on the
truth..now, where does this head? the fans are left hanging and with
no idea what is going on.

Perhaps the prediction that Ms. Wright was told was correct.

F4 may or may not survive as a group for a long time, may not bring
back the old working group, perform as a group like that of 5566 are
doing during the interim of their silence, still the questions are
popping out, will they still able to perform as a group, as F4, as
Flower Four in all parts of Asia? Will they still process the 3rd
album that they once said, will they still have an asian tour? Asian
Tour having Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan on their list? Will
Hongkong concert push through? There are a lot of questions that need
an answer.

Or do we need to add another one? Will F4 stay silent during the next
five months?
Will the interim of silence HELP the band? Can they deny everything
all the time?
Will the fans stay loyal during the term of non-productivity? Some
will say that this decision is greedy on F4 part. But you have to
look at it from their view. If the 5566 can do it, why can't they?
They have rougher schedules as proved by the entire complete tours F4
made during
their beginning, more work hours and harder management than 5566 and
they are making less money as compared to how 5566 earn. It all comes
down to simple economics; if a person is doing more work like you,
but making more money, then you are likely to complain. This is what
is happening. Money or career growth? It's versus vs versus!
As for the loyal fans, the stereotype is that teenyboppers are
flighty. If a band stays on ice for a while, then their fans will
fade away. Only time will tell if this is true or not. True fans will
stay with the group, waiting patiently for the new album. The
teenies, AND the older fans will be determined by their amount of
patience in waiting for the silence to end.

An eye opener for the management of F4, we just hope when the time
comes that you are ready to break the silence, fans are still not
deaf to listen...

There is chance that F4 might unite as guest presentors:

The first 3 years of Music Feng Yun Bang Awards Ceremony has been spectacular. Hence, for the fourth year, the music event is the look out of all media representatives. Organisors have revealed that Eason Cheng, Jay Chou and many other stars will be attending the ceremony. Faye Wang, Stephanie Sun and others appearance will made the event even more star-studded. Another point to make is that organisors have revealed that F4 are very likely to make a special appearance and gest presentors. If that's the case, they this will be the first time that F4 have united since they went solo.

E.N.E.R.G.Y is AH-DI ENERGY
On my forced hiatus I was confronted with a medium
which I'd all but forgotten: Real Journalism ™
After a day or so of continual reading and viewing,
I noticed a trend toward rogue boyband members going solo.
Why?? Why?? Is splitting 100 billion dollars five ways
not enough money to survive on for THE REST OF YOUR
LIFE??
Is Your Band Breaking Up? Why Does Band Break?
"Not, after Toro left, it doesn't mean, we are breaking
apart, we all know we are a band, a solid group with one
goal" Milk clarifies. "Meng Zhe and Wang also were in the news
having injured badly during rehearsals but they are not breaking up.
And let me tell you, the reason why other bands break
up because there is no need for it. They have made enough
trashy music to fill a garbage tip and going solo really is just
committing crimes against humanity! Yan has made the worst
decision ever, but if deciding for himself is best for him
and leaving the group who has made him big and known, go
ahead, like me, if it happened to me, I will not stay with a group
who I feel uncomfortable with, no matter how much effort you
hide the truth, it will come out, people will know that, hence
it will just ruin your fame. The number 1 factor of it to stay longer
in the business is "on't brag, don't lie to your fans, and don't pretend,
be close to your group mates, love and not envy", those qualities
lack F4 which apparently is too much for Energy and 5566"

Shu Wei added "if you love your group, show it not only infront of the
camera, or front of the fans, show it even if your group is not
exposed to media or fans. If one member realizes his mistake, he can still
go back but the percentage of their fame is another story"

However, F4 is yet to crack the elusive All-Asia-Market before calling themselves
popular, only selling a measly thousand records so far. Is it too late for them?

Although according to Shu Wei,5566 is a huge crowd-drawing force
since they started, they are not exposed on news but they have a stand on.

According to Medella, 5566 and Energy top the charts and surveys
in Taiwan in important musical markets. According to Media Papers,
F4 never made it big to their hometown which is one of the reasons why
a lot have been doubting on their abilities, if not for their good looks,
they will not make it big in Hongkong.

Taiwanese media have credited F4 as the most popular band,Energy the acrobatic exhibitioners, Comic Boyz the cutest, 5566 the
best singers and dancers. But.......
JJ, known artist in Taiwan reportedly sniggered when he first heard of
F4's album. "Their singing sucks, they need more private tutor before
they make it big, singing is not about good looks, it's about talent.
Vanness is the only person I can see who not only has good looks but
also has talent, otherwise. JJ also poohed 5566 "this quintet can sing
and dance, but I don't like their style, they are like F4 made up. The only
difference between them, 5566 is too close enough to think they are like
girls, while F4 is a disaster off cam and that image is uncool!

METRO MAGAZINE has come out with its annual "Best of the Best" Awards Issue. (Cover is Tessa Prieto)

F4 & JY are featured in a number of articles:

1. HEAVENLY BODIES (Best of the Best BODIES)

Intro: "More than just great physiques, these guys & gals exuded that something extra that made them magnets of attraction."

Article includes whole page, solo pics of the people who made the List, including:

DAO (Jerry Yan, Actor): the pic used was taken during
bench/ presscon of JY in his "love ko bench/" tee

2. WINNERS (Best of the Best PEOPLE) - text by Lourd de Vera

Intro: "Hats off to the people who made the (generally) good news in 2003"

Article includes whole page, solo pics of the people who made the List, including:

F4 (Jerry Yan, Vaness Wu, Ken Zu & Vic Zhou)

Leave it to sociologists to explain how a crew of lanky Taiwanese boys launched a thousand Oh Baby Babys reverberating all throughout the archipelago. Jerry Yan, Vaness Wu, Ken Zu & Vic Zhou proved why they were so popular in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and even the Chinese mainland, where Meteor Garden is banned by the central government. Must be a growing dissatisfaction with Western cultural
hegemony. Or the tension-filled plot of Meteor Garden. Or probably just the cool haircuts. When Jerry Yan a.k.a Dao Ming Su (a.k.a the latest Bench endorser, worth 40 Million pesos) came to the Philippines in November, he almost had the status of a
state visitor, with an enthralled Palace reception & media devotion.

3. THE YEAR OF BREAKING UP (Best of the Best SHOWBIZ NEWS) - text by Cecille Matutina

Includes:

"Oh baby baby, my baby baby"

Now for the other phenomenal soap on TV - Meteor Garden. From Mari Mar, the country went crazy over Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men, Mei Zhuo & Shan Cai. The series, about 4 cute, long-haired Taiwanese boys, premiered on the dead timeslot of 4pm on May 5. By May 6, it was rating close to 40%. When it was moved closer to early primetime, 5:30 pm, just before TV Patrol, it was rating close to 50%! Meteor Garden Rewind, on the other hand, aired before MTB on Saturdays & ASAP on Sundays, was rating on the
neighborhood of 45 & 48% - and those are replays!

All of a sudden, every kid wa singing Chinese songs, plastering his (or even his) walls with posters of F4. "The Event" - the concert which featured 2 of the F4, Vanness & Ken, and the duo ASOS - was sheer pandemonium. "Happy 50 TV" the concert, featuring
Jerry & Vic, set sales records, despite tickets at P10,000 (~US$ 200) and even P15,000 (~US$ 300). This created a bit of controversy; many frowned at such super-expensive tickets.

4. HUY, HUY, HUY, HUY, HUY, HUY ... (Best of the Best MUSIC) - text by Lourd de Vera

Article includes:

The year's most raucous show was not the NU 107 Rock Awards or any punk rock or trash metal shebang. It was the first F4 concert at the Ultra Football Station
last September. Scores were hurt after a horde of drenched & eager fans tore down the barricades & spilled into the front row, to the shock of the Binondo elite. And that was just half of F4, unquestionably Asia's most popular boy band, at a time when groups
like Boyzone & Westlife are almost contemplating retirement. The more popular Jerry Yan & Vic Zhou followed only months later, with Yan - better known to millions as MG heartthrob Dao Ming Si - being received by screaming mobs at the NAIA (airport) & Malacanang. For a large part of 2003, one of the most popular sons on the airwaves has been F4's Baby Baby (Cant Lose You), a song heard almost everywhere from noontime
shows to videoke bars to jeepneys. This was the year when we witnessed something bizarre: millions of Pinoys memorizing entire songs in Mandarin. But then there's the question of how long one can stand repeated exposure to a phrase like "Oh baby baby ..."
without developing homicidal feelings.

5. TIMELINE -

June - includes: Meteor Garden captures the imagination of the nation
November - includes: Meteor Garden's Jerry Yan launched as Bench's newest model

F4 became popular because of "Meteor Garden." Not only are they popular in Taiwan and China, a "Meteor Rain" album makes all Southeast Asia fans go wild. Last year the four guys went to Indonesia to hold a concert. Their management company arranged a 5-star presidental suite for them. And for F4's safety they had very strict security.

F4 has never lived in a presidential suite before. After being in a commodious and extremely comfortable presidential suite, Vanness loves the jacuzzi the most; Ken loves the computer room the most; Jerry would put big and small gifts from fans on the table in the guest room; ZZ is loves the big bed in the presidential suite bedroom the most, "I only have to lie on the chuan2 [boat] (suppose to be chuang2 [bed]) and I'll fall asleep."

Jerry and His Mother Suffere Together, Swore To Become Famous
Posted: March 14, 2003

Yan Cheng Xu (Jerry) becomes famous. His mother is the first person he thanks.

There are many idols that come from single-parent families. Currently immensely popular celebrity Zhou Jie Lun (Jay Chou), F4, Xiao Ya Xuan (Elva), Li Wen (Coco Lee), Zheng Yuan Chang, Xu Ruo Xuan (Vivian Hsu), Li Wei, Qiu Ze, Xu Huai Yu, etc. all came from single-parent families. In the depths of their hearts, there is a point missing in the circle and for that reason, they work even harder, using the accomplishments of their work to replace what they lacked during the course of their growth.

According to a conservative estimate, idol artistes with such similar fortunes make up about sixty or seventy percent of the entertainment circle. During the course of their growth, they have bitter yet warm little tales. During times that they suffer grief, unlike others, they cannot pour out their troubles to their mother and father at the same time. They can only hide in a corner and secretly cry. When the tears flow down their face, they learn the taste of growing up yet it also creates the guarantee of a quality of "independence, endurance, and suffering" market.

F4's Yan Cheng Xu (Jerry), Zhou Yu Min (Zai Zai), Wu Jian Hao (Vanness), and Zhu Xiao Tian (Ken) all came from a single-parent household. A quality that they have in common is the courage to try, unafraid of failure. Yan Cheng Xu (Jerry) is the one who throughout his childhood experienced the most misery of the four. His father passed away when he was in elementary school, grade four. The family's condition was simple and miserable. His mother carried the whole family on her one shoulder, looking for work everywhere. Every winter break, he and his sister must go to the factory to work at odd jobs. In those days, they lived in a garret with a sheet iron roof. In the summer, it was hot and stuffy and difficult to bare but they had no money to buy an air conditioner. The whole family of three crowded together wiping their sweat like rain. He swore then, "One day, I must let mom live happy days. I must stand out and become someone."

Later, Yan Cheng Xu (Jerry), based on the spirit of "taking sufferings and treating them as supplements" that he had nurtured since his childhood, he eventually won a piece of heaven in the entertainment circle.

CETV - Inside Entertainment
-i've been watching this for the past few weeks and all i can see is 5566...they even showed clips of their visit here in the philippines....anyway, i felt sad because when f4 was here, they didn't show any clips of f4's visit here...i really can't understand what they're saying but i know they were talking about f4 vs 5566...true enough, a fan posted this...

THIS IS A MUST! CALLING ALL F4 FANS!
Posted by giqrr-onlyf4

hi. i've been watching this chinese (showbiz) talkshow in cetv (Inside Entertainment).anyways, i just need everybodys help... you see this show is practically saying that F4 is not famous anymore and 5566 is the big thing now. they even showed the clips of their (5566) visit here, they even showed that there were a lot of poeple watching the concert/show... they were actually implying that the people were there bec of 5566, and we all know that it wasnt true, right. since i couldn't stand it (i mean, hello... they NEVER showed any clips of F4's visit here, not even once!), i sent them an email. telling them that F4 is still very well loved by the filipinos (and chinese- of course) and all that. but it seems that they didnt believe me. i mean, 4 days after sending them the mail, she (ADA- one of the host) commented on my letter (though they nevermentioned my name- wish they did), she said that 5566 is very famous right now, and she started showing the fan letters of 5566,whats worst was that they didnt show any mails of F4. they are, again, implying that f4 doesnt have any fans anymore. so, please if you love F4, please show your support by emailing this show and tell them how much we love F4... how much they have changed the lives of the people here. thank you.

Here's how you can email the show.
1. go to
http://cetv.com/cmsv209/site1/cetvmain.jsp?locale=zh_TW
2. on the upper right side corner of the page, click on "English". Its right under the logo of the show.
3. then click on "Contact Us".
4. under the "email" dropdown box, choose "Ada Pan".
5. the rest is pretty much self explanatory.

note: you can email them in english

Bombard them with letters all in caps!

If they still won't concede the truth from the Phils. we must give CETV a call, if we can, ask the director to put us on live phone patch while they are airing. Eventhough the current episode is already different, it is still best to denounce our frustration over what they have been saying about 5566 against F4.

If we can also send more letters to all their TV stations as well as newspapers, in China, Taiwan, and HK, let's do so so that it will all be in the news!

Attend F4 Ohana Party that the world may see that F4 is still no. 1 to us!

5566 TONY SUN DEFENDED F4

Inside Entertainment rolled out their big boy band: Energy and 5566.
During the time that F4 has been a disaster, that left the door open for Energy and 5566 and all together
they walked through the door" The Door of real Success!

5566 & Energy work hard and deserve the breakthrough. The F4 and their management directed their anger
and thinking that it was a conflict of interest for them to be compared to mirror image boys.

In response to accusations by Energy that F4 boys have lost its drive, 5566 group member, Tony Sun
said :"F4 are trying to find a balance, right projects and right timing, but it doesn't mean that they have
lost its drive. I, personally have looked up to F4 because I admire them for what they have earned and gained
in the industry, we still wish we can reach up to that level."

As the battle of the boybands intensified, the band found itself unable to proceed with their careers regardless
of what they hear and read.

Contrary to the rumor on what Kun Da has commented recently about F4 losing its magic touch and it's over
for them the business is ours together with Milk, both from Energy,
5566 Leader, Sun clarified the matter : "i don't know anything
about energy's comment but when people were throwing that big number on the table,
it was tempting to answer back, we rather not! But it hurts us when taiwan bands are being compared
and much worse when one says something
bad to another one that would create something to worry about. We cannot control fans from saying things that are
sometimes painful, we cannot stop media from writing about us, F4 or Energy, but all we ask is the risk, and
pay attention to the word "limit".

JJ, a well known artist in Taiwan also declared war on F4 and 5566, and even terrified to bring Energy boys back to
school. JJ laid the cards of truth saying 5566 is the real king in Asia especially in Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia
and home-based Taiwan and that F4 was never a popular band if not for Meteor Garden.

Tony Sun quoted : "Thank you for the praises but I don't agree with what he has said, but its his opinion and everyone
deserves to have one. As what I said F4 created a name for themselves in the music and entertainment industry and
I will still support them 110% no matter what will happen whether they gone out for solos or re-group. F4 and
5566 for the knowledge of majority, are friends, sometimes we cannot control the comparison, its a healthy
competition, and with that, it's no problem, issues has just been blown out of proportion, everything has."

Going solos? So do you exactly believe that F4 has broken down and Jerry Yan is going solo?

"If one says it no matter how serious you are or not, if one is in a boyband everything he says gets
picked up on. If you'd ask me, he deserves to stay in the group.
I was also upset about the comments other people were saying about F4 and I don't think there was any
need for the things they were saying. Those were thoughtless and I even ask 5566 fans especially those who
have fan groups in the internet where they read news like this to stay away from this and to not comment anything
against F4 or any band because we, 5566, want to have clean and kind fans . It's really unfair that people
go on punishing one because of one comment."

Jay and F4 refused to perform for Taiwan Election

2004/03/16 Hong Kong SingDao Daily

กฑStar Effectกฏกฑ has entered into Taiwanese political arena. The presidential election on March 20 is imminent. Quite a few political parties spend big money to invite stars to various events to attract voters. But Jay and F4 donกฏt want to make money when it comes to politics.

The once-every-four-year Taiwan presidential election will be held on March 20. A rash of activities has been busily conducted to garner votes by each party. Reportedly many campaign groups have invited stars to help promotion; pays are better than regular performances. In the 2000 presidential election, A-Mei Chang was paid 5 million NT dollars to sing one song.

Reportedly, this year campaign groups are focusing on younger Taiwanese idols. The hottest one is Jay, who was offered 6 million NT dollars (equivalent to 1 and half million Hong Kong dollars) to sing three songs, which is higher than a 3-hour concert. Next is F4, who was offered 5 million NT dollars (equivalent to one and a quarter million HK dollars) to sing one song together.

To avoid showing clear political positions, most record companies and agencies do not accept offers for their stars to entertain in political functions. Jay and F4 are just some examples. Taiwan Sony Music rejected many invitations for them with thanks, saying both Jay and F4 are occupied with other assignments.

F4 and Double 5 Double 6 have both captured the hearts of Young Asia -- but which one is really the biggest
boys band on the block?

In one corner is the older, more established F4 -- heartthrobs Jerry Yan, Ken Zhu, Vanness Wu, Vic Chou. With
two albums selling a record-breaking, the Boys believe they are the kingpins of teen tunes.

Not so fast. In another corner are the young upstarts of 5566 -- Sun Xie Zhi Tony, Wang Ren Fu Zax,
Peng Kang Yu Rio, Xu Meng Zhe Jason, Wang Shao Wei Sam. The group's debut album "First Album" also sold breaking copies, and its new album "Second Album" and Soundtrack for West Side Story are both shoo-in record history.

Both are handsome groups out of Taiwan with flawless five-part harmonies and fun- loving attitudes to match.
Teens battle it out on their respective idols' websites and fan groups, F4exclusive, <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/F4Exclusive> an example--
praising Vanness while panning Ren Fu, yelling "yay!" for Jerry and "yech!" for Tony.

Teenyboppers across Asia wept uncontrollably at the news that F4's Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu are not to
renew their contracts with Fu Long. And a China radio station recently grabbed a half-eaten piece of a-s
toast off 5566 hottie Sam Wang breakfast plate -- and promptly auctioned it off for more than TWD2,000.

What do the experts say?

"I definitely prefer F4," says editor of teen-- oriented Magazine: "I think they're a little more
professional and seasoned as performers. They just seem to carry themselves better"

"Their photos, I also feel, are better -- they're well-done. I'm not as crazy about 5566 --
a lot of their photo shoots are kind of campy."

But noted well-known music critic Jim Hebler tells he believes 5566 are the superior artists.

Says Hebler: " 5566 have a more disciplined approach on stage, their five-part harmonies are flawless,
and they take a lot more chances with their choreography. I like their feel-good, in-cheek photo
image -- they have fun with it. 5566 is also more teen-oriented. They connect better to the audience
that they're trying to appeal to.

"F4 look too mature and seem to take themselves too seriously.
"Both groups should have good, long careers. But in the end, I bet that 5566 will be more fondly
remembered because of their attitude at work and how they handle and deal with their fans on and off cam, they
have no pretentions, what you see is merely who they are in real life"

For their part, the young men in the two supergroups try to downplay the rivalry.
Says Tony Sun: "It's a friendly competition. We see them at awards shows, and we're cool
with each other. They do their thing, and we do our own thing."

Still, the rivalry looks to be heating up by other groups. WeWe recently told News Asia he believes
F4 has ridden on his group's coattails. And JJ shot back that he believes
the F4 are a prefabricated group, while 5566 put their group together themselves."

But ultimately, the fans will decide the winner, and as a conclusion, we therefore can attest, it's 5566
and F4, the ultimate well-balanced - winners.

3/17 Slashing Group

Energy obviously think they're really good - they've just signed defunct F4 down,
and are hoping that fans will grow to love them just as much as they do to F4's or 5566's.

So how do Kun Da, Milk and co feel about that?
"I guess they were threatened by our success. Before, we were compared to F4,
but now they get asked about 5566..We're closer to 5566 and we believe on their talents more than
F4, we rather be compared to 5566 for healthy rivalry, no big deal but with F4? I don't think
we're trying to be like them, I just think they're trying to evolve.
And no doubt we'll try and evolve too..

"That's not a part of Energy's world,"rawls quietly,as we wonder !

F4 Management reacted
"I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't have time to worry about some other group's problem.
Do you know what I mean?" Oh, we do!

Heads up, Asian Tv Series Fans...!!!

Check out the ff URLs to get snapshots on the latest and historical TV ratings as extracted from AGB's database.

These figures are utilized by advertisers and ad agencies in coming up with their media planning & buying efforts.

About AGB
The world-wide range of the AGB Group made it possible to introduce a uniform telemetric research standard in its member countries. (including the Philippines)

Disclaimer:
The tables are subject to various analysis and interpretations.

Highlights of the extracted data:

1. Periods covered: 2003 (full year) and 2004 (to-date)
2. Target members: Individual (as against household)
3. AMR% - Average Meter Rating
4. CNT - # of times the program was shown

5. Interesting Highlights:

2003 - a banner year for F4 in the Philippines.
Remains unprecedented!

2004 - korean telenovelas get a better viewership share (to date)

6. How the Asian Idols Fared

F4 Rules in Top 10 (2003) and it's latest MG2 Rewind (2004) run still have a satisfactory turnout.

5566 - MTV Valentine and West Side Story - both have a low 5.9% turnout
Competition: F4 (19%) and Ghost Fighter (10.8%) respectively

Barbie Hsu's latest, Eternity, got a measly 5.6% on the scale. Very unsatisfactory as it's timeslot is near/almost
in the primetime category (more traffic expected).

Where the big bucks are

HONG KONG – Retired actress Lin Ching-hsia may have backed Kuomintang leader Lien Chan for president, but younger Taiwanese stars are a more shy lot – politically speaking, that is.

Sing Tao Daily says presidential campaigning committees are offering as much as NT$6 million (S$410, 8000) to the top pop idol, Jay Chou, to sing three songs at a rally.

This is more than what some singers are paid for a full concert.

Likewise, boyband F4 has been offered NT$5 million.

But Chou and F4’s record label, Sony Music, has declined on their behalf, because it has no wish for its stars to take a stand on politics.

Meanwhile, girl group S.H.E sang at Lien’s rally recently, for NT$1.2 million. But the girls said their performance was just part of their commitment to a company they were endorsing.

THE POP BOYBANDS ARE ALRIGHT
By Xtian Ji Huang
CN TV, China
March 17, 2004

IS it time to wave bye, bye, bye to teen pop? Critics seem to think so.
But they were sounding the death knell for teen ear candy back in January,
after Vic Chou's album failed to sell high-expected figures.

Even as boy band 5566 releases "Second album" - one of the year's most
in-demand discs - music critics are predicting the death of bubble-gum pop.

FTV declared in a headline on Friday, "Boy bands starting to feel some backlash."

" 'Pop' Goes the Teen Boom?" asked Entertainment U in February, after Chou released the single
"Ji De Wo Ai Ni." The article went on to say the
"music industry is anticipating a downturn because it believes teens are burned out on the sound."

And Asia News Service recently reported, "Teen pop may be petering out."

It's more a matter of taste than truth. Sure, F4 not the Beatles or even the Spinners, but
don't tell that to 14-year olds, who still cause a traffic jam in Taichung when any of
their pop idols are on.

Hey, critics never liked teen pop to begin with. And teen pop idols like F4 and 5566 don't like
critics as well, to begin with.

And, if teen pop is a fading fad, store owners don't know it. They've ordered million copies of
ZZ's new album, the same number they ordered for the group 5566 mega hit "Second Album."

But if *ZZ's and soon-to-release album Ken and Vanness's new effort fail to match or
exceed their first album sales (group or solo) - the disc will be deemed a failure.

And critics will start saying it's over for the pop-culture phenom.

But that's wishful thinking.

Even dumber are those - like Apple Daily - who suggest Yen's very adult problems of
immaturity and unprofessionalism signal the end of the teen musical trend.

If booze and the blues could end a musical trend, rock 'n' roll would have died
long before Elvis did and we'd all be doing the waltz.

F4 will always remain in the history of Music, Entertainment and Asia. The hell with the critics.
If the critics say Vic's album expect to sale 2M, and he only sold 1.5M, does that mean his
album is a failure? I don't think so...

ladies.....stay on the topic, pls......no spamming.....

**********************************************************

Rich commerce likes young girls with a good stature. Rich women like cutie gigolos and bold men with well-built bodies as well as handsome guys. The entertainment circle is the headquarters of ferocious males. It’s only natural that this is the holy place for millionaire ladies.

From the 80s’ Leslie Cheung, Andy Lau, Ray Liu to the 90s’ Tony Leung, Leon, until today’s Zai Zai, Jerry Yan and Bae Yong Jun, all are the most wanted male celebrities of rich ladies. In order to touch the hearts of these actors, wealthy women are willing to take out 5,000,000 to 8,000,000 HKD (NT 22,500,000 to 36,000,000).

A few days ago, handsome Korean actor Bae Yong Jun promoted his new movie in Taiwan arousing madness among female fans. But looking ahead, among these females, the majority are wealthy ladies. They have money and leisure. When they chase celebrities they obviously spend a ton booking charabancs, rooms, and fields. They make people aware of middle-aged women’s grand offerings, not losing to young people.

With the same principle, if millionaire women have a male celebrity as their target, the money they throw out really can kill people. Last year, Vic Zhou and Ken Zhu promoted their drama “Love Storm” in Indonesia. The two created a whirlwind, receiving a very warm welcome by young female fans.

However, this is not what confounded the staff members because there was a middle-aged lady who claimed to be rich. She said she owned a bank, forest, department store and other industries. She said, “As long as F2 Vic Zhou and Ken Zhu are willing to be supported, just give me a price!” This almost frightened the two guys to death.

The upper class in Hong Kong has always had a price list of supported female celebrities. They also have a price ranking of the most popular supported male celebrities. From this chart, it’s not difficult to see that male celebrities that the rich ladies like sequent with generation and trend.

Next few paragraphs on some Hong Kong celebrities and the amount rich ladies gave to support them.

In 2000, these celebrities are in their 30s and 40s so they do not meet with wealthy ladies’ demands of “young and fresh.” Therefore, nowadays, Zai Zai, Jerry Yan and Jay Chou have become the three most wanted men by rich ladies for care.

In order to take care of these 3 handsome celebrities, these rich ladies have offered millions. For Zai Zai’s support price, a month is 5,000,000 HKD (NT 22,500,000), Jerry’s is 3,000,000HKD a month and Jay’s is 2,000,000HKD a month.

The reason why all 3 stars are from Taiwan is probably because there hasn't been any new artists that stands out in HK and the old ones don't have anything refreshing.

Rich Ladies Love Zai Zai Most
This person expressed that Zai Zai's gentilesse and obedient appearance not only attract young girls, but also recieves gazes from wealthy women. And Zai Zai's shyness and his lovable traits arousing rich ladies' maternity. That's why he is the champion for most popular male celebrity wanted by rich ladies.

Vic Zhou and Ken Zhu, members of F4 are reunited in GMA 7’s newest chinovela, Love Storm which premieres tomorrow at 4p.m.

Ken Zhu, 26 [25], was born in Taiwan and raised in Singapore. He was discovered while working in a Japanese Barbeque restaurant. Aside from acting on television he was recently featured in Sky of Love opposite Gigi Leung.

Vic Zhou, 23, was discovered when he accompanied a friend to an audition. He has acted in several television dramas and has released two albums. Despite his hectic acting and singing schedule, he continues to study in a technical school in Taiwan.

In Love Storm Vic plays a gangster while Ken is a computer game developer. In the story, lead character Zhao Jia Le (Vivian Hsu) witnessed how her aunt defied custom and tradition to be with the one she loved. This idea was implanted in young Jia’s mind. Thus, as a child she vowed to marry the guy who will give her happiness.

Jia believes the man of her dreams has finally arrived when she accidentally meets Lu Ying (Zhou). She throws caution to the wind and surges forward to be with him. In doing so, Jia unknowingly hurts Wan Bao Long (Zhu), a childhood friend who has nurtured a hidden love for her from a distance.

Accompanying the series is a romantic soundtrack featuring songs by Vivian Hsu, Vic Zhou, The Comic Boys and Ken Zhu. Vivian’s Decide to Love You is a faithful translation of a popular Japanese song and sets the tone for her cheerful, perky character, as well as the light moments of the series.

Vic, true to form as the breathless balladeer, singing the voluptuous I Feel You, also known in other Asian countries as I Breathe You In. Ken Zhu won’t be quietly waiting by the sidelines as he sings the all-English song Inside [Of] My Guitar, a ballad * more endearing* [emphasis mine, hehe, m.] than his popular anthem Here We Are. This is the same song he sang live at the ULTRA during his visit to Manila last September.

Love Storm Soundtrack is available in CDs and cassettes nationwide.

Chinese love Taiwanese culture, but hate its politics

SHANGHAI - Young Chinese partygoers in a crowded karaoke bar here do not let the latest hit song from Taiwan dilute a desire to see the island return to the fold - by war if necessary.

'Taiwan artists are great. They are just so romantic,' said Mr Zhu Jie, 30. 'But I'd sooner die than see Taiwan independent.'

Taiwanese restaurants and tea houses are all the rage in cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. Its variety shows and television dramas dominate prime time, and its catchy pop music flows out on the radio waves.

But China's love affair with all things Taiwanese has a stark demarcation line, stopping well short of endorsing anything close to its free-for-all democracy or the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party.

Taiwanese anchors of Hong Kong-based Phoenix Satellite Television are stars on the mainland, where the Chinese-language broadcaster is seen by 140 million people.

And the Taiwanese variety show I Guess, I Guess, I Guess, Guess, Guess, which can feature anything from transsexuals to cycling monkeys, has taken China by storm.

But from time to time, Taiwan mania steps across hidden boundary lines and angers Chinese hardliners.

In 2002, the government pulled the plug on the hugely popular soap opera Meteor Garden, fearing that the decadent lifestyles portrayed by F4 would corrupt young Chinese minds.

And A-Mei, a Taiwanese aboriginal singer, was briefly banned from the mainland in 2000 for singing the island's anthem at President Chen Shui-bian's inauguration.

Today, she remains as popular in China as ever.

'I just love A-Mei,' said trading executive Winston Yang, 45. 'But I don't like her politics.' -- Reuters
