will only briefly summarize as most of it has been translated in other similar news articles, so only will summarize what has not been said, i know we all don't enjoy reading these articles, but every artists will get some it's just more or less
F4's Popularity Drops Greatly,Fairytale No More
F4's popularity has dropped greatly in the recent years, their albums aren't selling well and movies aren't doing well.
Advancing to China, ZZ not included
F4's manager has decided to develop in China, first arranging Ken to strike. In March Ken will be filming a new drama with Michelle Saram, "City in the Sky" aka "City of Sky." Hope that it'll be a success.
China mainland fans can accept Vanness, Ken and Jerry, but as for ZZ, not really. According to what is known, it's because ZZ's pronouncian isn't good plus the fact that in previous years when F4 went to promote in China, ZZ appeared to be very cold, disappointing spectators. Therefore, other F4 members can shoot ads and accept dramas in China.
However in mid-February, ZZ will be filming "Mars" with Big S. At that time, if the performance is the same as "Meteor Garden II," F4's fairy tail will perhaps fade away.

ok i am aware that there are many articles these days saying bad things about f4, i'm not trying to add to it and make you guys more angry, but i translated this article because i know deep down inside that the last sentences are somewhat true. if any f4 drama/movie comes out like MG2, it'll hurt f4. however, i have great confidence in ZZ, he'll come through, i know he will, he'll work his hardest, he'll make this the best performance that he has ever done. so i ask that all f4 fans help in supporting zz's new drama when it comes out, zz fan or not, as well as ken's new drama, ken fan of not. if you are an f4 fan then support its members and show these people what f4 is REALLY made of and show them that f4 fans are some of the best, most faithful and supporting fans out there. prove these people wrong. when their member's cds come out buy them, then vote for the songs and get them in the charts. i know that i have yet to get zz's new album myself, but i am going to get my hands on them sooner or later, i will, i told myself i will, i just need to go to new york so what i'm trying to get through to you guys is, don't get too mad/upset over these articles, that's the media's opinion and we can't change them, however we can prove them wrong, so bottom line it, SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT!

In the beginning I wuz so mad to read these articles because they're so unfair . ZaiZai's album is doing very well considering the current music market & jus look at the turnout during his autograph sessions in Tw, Sg & Hk! Other artists don't get the same response. Even Faye Wong attracted only 2,500 people to her autograph session in Sg recently. Same goes for Vanness' & Ken's movies (both more popular outside Taiwan, and the reason is simply because there wuz not much publicity bout them in Taiwan). Magic Kitchen has already broken the Hk$20million mark in Hk alone (Not including China/Malaysia/Sg/Phil) when the producers had only targetted $10million. And Jerry only played a quiet supporting part in the film. Taiwan media (who started these reports & then copied by other papers - u can see that the contents of the articles are almost exactly the same) are always very negative bout F4. This is why I'm always more worried bout F4 when they are performing in public in their own country. I wonder what they will write when Jerry starts promoting MK there this Feb .......
But don't care lah! We love F4 not because of what some lousy so-called "journalist" writes, but because of who they are. And fans are not so stupid! They have been writing over n over bout F4 "fighting" and F4 "breaking up" and when this never happened, now they start writing bout F4 "popularity slide" (in fact I believe they have been trying to 'promote' this since last year UNSUCCESSFULLY !). So this jus makes us all more determined to support every member of F4 NO MATTER WHAT, RIGHT?!
Amazing

Clap your hands not because the movie is doing well. But clap your hand becuase the movie brings Jerry closer to us. It touches our hearts , that love is simple yet it will bring miracle as long as there is faithfullness and oppeness.
This refers to the movie Magic Kitchen, I know that detractors keep on saying that it is a big flop, stay cool as long as we know that deep in our heart it has a huge success all over asia.
I myself saw during the premier night last Feb 7. I came late and I saw a lot of people outside the cinema who wants to see yet was not able to do so, because tickets are sold out already. I am lucky enough that I brought ticket 3 days before the stated date.

To the International Sphere - Jerry leads the way
Yesterday, a news report from China and HK grabbed the attention of many readers. It was headlined - "F4 popularity plummets, can't sell albums, can't see movie tickets. Popularity can not be compared with that when they started in MG. The 4 guys' popularity is in a trough, F4 legend no longer exists." When reporters asked F4 Taiwan's manager, he says: "That is ridiculous, F4 are are so busy at the moment, contracts coming in no stop. That report is so biased and unfair!"
Manager Zhi also revealed that F4's big plan this year is to move further into the international arena, especially Japan and Korea. Jerry will be releasing his album next month and Ken's album will be out in April, May. ZZ's MARS will be shown in Japan during June and July and he will also film his movie. Vanness, who is in the US is preparing his second album ,which should be out in June this year.

F4 Declining, Angie Cai: No!
Posted: February 16, 2004
F4 has gone solo and are competing against each other in the movie industry. The media has claimed that the box office wasn’t good. F4’s manager Angie Cai objected and said, “It should be said that within this big of a surrounding, what person is a guarantee of box office? Who’s movie will do well? If one’s native country’s artist, their own people, don’t train, how are they supposed to compete abroad?”
This year, F4’s Jerry Yan leaped onto the big screen filming “Magic Kitchen,” Vanness Wu filmed “Star Runner,” and Ken Zhu filmed “Sky of Love.” However, the box office wasn’t too ideal. Therefore the media criticized F4 saying that their influence is decreasing. In connection with the international statement, Angie Cai explained, “I think that it should be said that the movie market isn’t prospering in general. Even Andy Lau’s movies are not selling. So how can you guarantee who will be in the box office?” Angie Cai said that in the county’s movie market, besides last year’s HK big selling movie “Infernal Affairs,” no other movie did that well. The movies that F4 are in are not considered the worst. Moreover, she feels that it’s already not easy for native artists to be able to go to HK and other places to film movies. Everyone should stand at an encouraging standpoint, or else how could Taiwan’s artist train to be at the international level?
Regarding Zai Zai’s album not selling well, Angie Cai explained even more energetically, “This time’s release met up with the New Year’s, promotions were cut down. In addition, pirated versions have gone wild. If you have to compare with previous sales, of course it’ll be affected. This is the effect of the entire environment’s transformation, it’s not his personal problem.”

F4 Fading Away From Our Minds

F4 is Final Fantasy! Career drops to the worst state!
Idols’ 'life span' might be even shorter than Eastern socks. However, Taiwanese boy band F4's sudden FAME and sudden DROP really let people not get used to and understand it. Maybe the idols have bullied the fans, or the fans have fooled the idols!
Let’s talk about Jerry Yan first. HK Movie Magical Kitchen, starring Sammi Cheung and Andy Lau, did not help improve Jerry's career or results. Instead, it attracted many unpleasant rumors and words from others. In addition, his solo album has been calling people to wait until the sun rises from the west which is IMPOSSIBLE! (which is too slow) We have only heard his words but have not seen his action. No one knows?
Thinking about the past, ZZ's album was one of the TOP 10 Best Selling Albums. However, ever since Love Storm, his popularity dropped greatly. In Taiwan, his album did not even sell up to 40k copies.
Last Year, Ken and Vanness marched into the movie industry. However, both ticket sales were not up to standard. Vanness was paid the "LOWEST" with only 40k SGD (200k HK Dollars) for acting in Star Runner, another failing movie that sold up to 90k SGD (190k NTD) only. As for Ken, his movie was even poorer than Vanness’. It sold up to 90k HKD only.
The reporter/author feels that F4 was very successful in the beginning. They are really 'unlucky' enough to give up the drama/movie industry in Taiwan and migrate to the outlandish/old-fashioned HK movie industry. In the process, they lost countless of fans just because of filming in 'old' HK movie industry. Truly unlucky!
Lastly, HOT stars also must have a sense of privacy. However, over-privacy might cause people not to remember or to brood over them and their achievement. The company manager then said, “Too much of protection and package cause this boy band, which at first could rule over the Asia again, to lose out!” WOOT!

I honestly think that this proves that F4 is really the best. Jerry and Vanness will support 5566 even if they have been considered as rivalries....It just proved to show us that F4 is much nicer and friendlier than what most people would think... *sigh* F4 will never disappoint their fans
Let's just support them in whatever choices they make....I know I will....

F4 disbanding, Jerry refuses to sign contract
Posted: February 28, 2004

F4 skyrocketed to fame all over Southeast Asia from the Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden," the four however are facing the issue of disbandment.

It has been rumored that Jerry Yan (right) is not in good terms with F3.

F4's broker, Ge Fu Hong (right) facing the problem of Jerry not continuing his contract.

Flower Four go their own ways. Jerry Yan (left), Sammi Cheung (middle) and Andy Lau (right) in "Magic Kitchen."

Vanness Wu (left) and Kim (right) in "Star Runner."

Gigi Leung (left) and Ken Zhu (right) in "Sky of Love."

Vivian Hsu (left) and Vic Zhou (right) in drama, "Love Storm."
Popular Taiwanese group F4 is about to break apart. The main reason is because one of the members, Jerry Yan, has intentions to self-assemble a company to develop independently. Jerry, who only has a half a year before his contract with his management company ends, expressed to his company that he has already made a decision. Therefore F4 disbanding is an inevitable thing.
Popular Taiwanese group F4 skyrocketed to fame from the drama “Meteor Garden” filmed in 2001. They have fans all over Southeast Asia. You can say that it is a wonder in the entertainment circle in the recent years. But beginning from last year, there has been continuous reports that Jerry Yan (Bao Long) and the other F3, Vic Zhou (Zai Zai), Ken Zhu and Vanness Wu were not getting along with each other as well as news that F4 will be splitting up. Although his management company and record company constantly denies, but in the end they still couldn’t change the fact that F4 will disband.
Contracts terminating in a half a year
Seesawing war with management company
Reliable information has been received that F4 will be officially disbanding in September. Among the biggest reasons is that Jerry Yan has intentions to self-assemble a company to develop independently, his refusing attitude to continue his contract was very harsh. And F4’s management contract is currently under Taiwan’s Fu Long. Ken had already signed 10 years long ago with Fu Long meaning that he won’t and can’t leave his management company. The other 3’s contracts with Fu Long under Comic Family, Zai Zai has already signed for 3 more years.
The remaining members, Vanness Wu and Jerry Yan, only have a half a year before their contract with Comic Family ends. Currently Fu Long and the two are undergoing a seesawing war. The chances of Vanness resigning are very high, but Jerry is very troublesome. He told the company straightforwardly that he wanted to self-assemble a company to develop independently and that he has already made the decision. Therefore there is no way of avoiding the break up of F4.
Encountering Zai Zai Qiang Zha
Album done recording with no release date yet
However, Fu Long has continuously disagreed to admit that there is a problem existing between F4. In the past year they have also revealed that there F4 will be filming a movie together. And they also said that Jerry would be releasing his solo album this year. But we have only heard the sound of the stairs with all these plans. Jerry’s album has been completed at the end of last year but it has yet to be released. Instead, Zai Zai’s album was released at the beginning of the year. Could the release have something to do with Jerry’s desire of a self-assemble company?
Starting from this year’s hong guan concert period, we might see the inkling of F4 disbanding. Because when 12 Girls Le Fang held a concert in HK January of this year, it was originally prepared for F4. According to what is known, the reason for the cancellation of the concert is because the four guys are facing the problem of disbandment. They didn’t want to hold a concert in the name of F4. As a result the date was temporarily given to 12 Girls Le Fang.
Flying solo has fu xian
Repeatedly emphasizes that they each have their own goals
Actually, beginning from last year, F4 basically developed on their own respectively. Jerry Yan filmed the movie “Magic Kitchen,” Vanness Wu filmed the movie “Star Runner,” Ken Zhu filmed the movie “Sky of Love,” and Zai Zai stayed in Taiwan to film the drama “Love Storm.” When they received interviews, they repeatedly stressed that the four of them only came together because of the drama “Meteor Garden.” They hope to seek their own goals and acquire performance in the future.
However, even if F4’s disbandment is drawing nearer, the four of them cannot avoid the possibility of working together again because Pepsi and Baleno S&K’s advertisements were accepted in the name of F4. If the advertising company holds a huge publicizing event, F4 is bound to meet up and work together again.
Regarding whether or not Jerry Yan will be starting from scratch, the manager of Comic Family’s management department, Zhi Xiang Li, answered yesterday, “Talking about the contract situations, Bao Long’s is indeed quickly coming to an end. But I’m not too clear on the contract matters.” And F4’s broker, Ge Fu Hong said, “This is only people’s guesses, our relationship is very good at the present.”

Bao Long goes solo, breaks up F4
Broker denies, suspects that someone is making things up
Yesterday Hong Kong said that Jerry Yan (Bao Long) will by flying solo after his contract ends at the end of this year. He will self-assemble a studio, no longer wanted to be with F4. His broker, Ge Fu Hong said yesterday with regards to this, “I suspect that someone is making this up. The four of them have always got along very well and he really loves his 3 brothers.”
HK indicated that in January the concert held by 12 Girls Le Fang in an HK arena was originally for F4. But in the end because F4 is about to disband, they didn’t want to hold a concert in the name of F4. Therefore the arena was given to 12 Girls Le Fang.
Alone bewailing, no one cares
According to reports, Bao Long’s feelings is one of the reasons that decide whether or not F4 can work together. From the beginning of last year, there were reports saying that he wasn’t in good terms with F3. In July of the same year, the four was a movie’s, “Xing Ji Bao Bei,” spokesperson, during the premiere; Jerry was putting on make-up alone backstage and lying on a table bewailing, none of the other 3 cared. Afterwards his company said that said that he was sick. But what makes people confused is why wasn’t anyone consoling the sick Jerry?
Among F4’s contracts, besides Ken Zhu who signed for 10 years with Fu Long, Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) continued his contract. A well-informed source stated that there’s not problem with Vanness Wu resigning. But because Jerry wants to self-assemble a studio, the possibility of him resigning isn’t big.
Contracts are indeed coming to an end
The manger of Comic Family’s management department, Zhi Xiang Li, answered yesterday, “Talking about the contract situations, Bao Long’s is indeed quickly coming to an end. But I’m not too clear on the contract matters.” Will F4 disband? Is it because Bao Long wants to go solo? Broker, Ge Fu Hong said, “There is no such thing at all, I believe that there is someone who is making this up, deliberately causing the company and artists, as well as artists and contradictory between artists. I guarantee that F4 and the company’s relationship are very friendly!”

F2 to be in new drama, "Soccer Boy"
Following “Meteor Garden 2,” Ken Zhu and Vanness Wu will have a chance to act together once more in a new drama “Zu Qiu Xiao Zi” (Soccer Boy). At the moment, the female lead is most likely going to be Lin Yi Chen.
Manager Xiong Xiu Zhen revealed, in Taiwan and China, F4 has a vast amount of die-hard fans. She plans to collaborate with Shanghai TV. The idol drama, “Zu Qiu Xiao Zi” will have F4 as the leading roles. However, due to the fact that Jerry Yan wants to develop in the movie industry, and Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) is currently filming a new drama already, the 4 are unable to work together. Therefore, right now F2, Ken and Vanness, are the male leads. And Lin Yi Chen will play the female lead.
Xiong Xiu Zhen said, “I hope that the female lead has a considerably famous degree in both Taiwan and mainland. And Lin Yi Chen’s movie “Kong Shou Dao Shao Nu” is broadcasting in China and she also was nominated for the Golden Horse Awards. I believe that no matter it be popularity, acting skills, she is the best choice for the female lead.”
Lin Yi Chen’s broker Zhou Mei Yu expressed that she won’t rule out that she’ll arrange for Lin Yi Chen to go towards China to film. However, currently, besides “My Secret Garden 2” and “Love Contract,” in June she might be working with Zheng Yuan Chang in a new drama, “Mischievous Kiss.” Plus, Lin Yi Chen has schoolwork. Therefore there is not exact “landing” date, not only China dramas but even at a discussing stage. So it’s inconvenient to reveal the situation in detail. Lin Yi Chen is very popular; her invitations for dramas are endless.

HONG KONG – Will F4 be history by September?
Apparently, Jerry Yen has made up his mind to leave his agency Star Ritz when his bond expires in September, says Apple Daily, quoting a reliable source.
His departure will probably spell the end of the popular Taiwanese pop group.
Among F4, only Yen and Vanness Wu’s contracts with Star Ritz are up for renewal in September.
Ken Chu has a 10-year bond with F4 Long, a sister agency of Star Ritz, and Vi Chou renewed his contract with Star Ritz recently.
Wu is likely to renew his bond, but Yen is said to have told his agency that he will be setting up his own management company.
The daily says the Hong Kong Coliseum had set aside slots for F4 in January, but the group cancelled its concert plans because it was breaking up soon.
It was only then that the slots went to China’s 12 Girls Band.
When called for a comment, Yen’s manager Chih Hsiang-li confirmed that the star’s contract was indeed expiring. But he said: “I’m not in the know about contractual issues.”
Ke Fu-hung, the owner of Star Ritz and Fu Long, dismissed the talk of the spilt as “conjecture”. And said she was still on good terns withYen.
F4 Saga #2
HONG KONG – Taiwanese singer Lo Ta-yu is at it again.
In January – during a concert at the Esplanade – he accused Andy Lau of having a part to play in the late Anita Mui’s decline because Lau reduced Mui’s role in his film, Dance Of A Dream, in 2001.
In Hong Kong last week, Lo charged F4 with doing a Milli Vanilli.
He said in an interview with Apple Daily that he had heard form friends that the lads used vocal doubles whenever they had to harmonise and did not sing all of their songs themselves.
The comment came when he was asked for his thoughts on young Taiwanese stars.
The comment came when he was asked for his thoughts on young Taiwanese stars.
He also said: “Jay Chou sings very well. I have heard F4 but don’t like their songs. Ninety per cent of their songs is entertainment but music and entertainment are two different things.”
In answer, F4’s producer Liu Tien-chien admitted that the group had problems harmonizing and that only Vanness Wu was up to task.
But he denied that F4 used vocal doubles and said that only technical touch-ups were done to the recordings.

What Makes Taiwanese Groups Tick?
After the sensational F4 comes another popular group from Taiwan, the 5566. I'm sure there are other groups making a name in Taiwan but these two are very likely the most popular.
......We were asked not to ask the 5566 any questions about F4 but how could the press not think of the F4 when they are face-to-face with a group from the same country? Anyway, the group said that despite their being competitors, they are good friends with F4 when
they're off the stage. "We hope one day we will be as popular as them," they said.

3/Mar/04: Theres still hope for F4, THEY ALWAYS HAVE HOPE!
Source: Lian He Zao Bao

Reporter interviewed a few experienced professionals in the music industry and media represensitives. The thing that is interesting is that both sides almost agree to a certain extend
Out of the 3 pros, 2 said that as long as everything is organised properly, F4 still has a higher possibility of returning to the highest peak of all bands just like when they started. 3 then said that as long as F4 never announced they are officially disbanded, they always have a chance to revert back and this have to depend on the 4's decision.
If these 4 were together again, they might attracted another wave of heat. However, if Jerry were to insist on not continuing the contract, result might not be good. They also said that F4 have the basic foundation's benefit which is better than these new-comers. If they can maintain the support of the fans, it will be even better that they wont be disqualified out of so many singers.
3 Media represensitives then think that when these 4 boys were together, their popularity is higher. When looking at their current individual condition, going back to their 4's normal state is difficult as they have to depend more on themselves now. So maybe in the future, they would not be as hot as previous. Just because from the beginning, they were as deafening as the thunder, fans tend to look out for more higher results from them, and because of this pressure, F4 cannot hang on. Therefore the stress is too harsh on them.
But worth reminding is that... when beginning, it is F4 who raised up the heat of boyband.. in Asia. And soon, large bunchs of bands of different people were formed. But til now, it is still quite peaceful for F4. Only competitive bands are 5566 and Energy. However, these 2 bands cannot even stepped into hongkong's music industry. To think that F4 have already overcome the language barrier in Philippines, Thailand and Hongkong, why not dont talk about their competitors? Because the real rival and problem are themselves.
The Next Question is: When is F4's Next Cannon gonna be Fired?!

3/Mar/04 - F4 goes solo - Not looking good.., Lets review back F4 recent years' news.
Source: Lian He Zao Bao

Taiwanese boyband F4 after attending a March Charity concert in Hong Kong, announced the news of going solo. Unfortunately, their popularity had been falling.
Can they really fly solo? Are they up to standard? Let's look back at these 2 years what F4 achieved and have been doing.
After charity concert in Hongkong, each F4 individual dreamt of own amibition and developing their own solo career - publishing solo album and filming movies. Soon after 1 year, the results are obvious enough to see... its not appealing and unpleasent reported by the media.
About this report, F4 manager Angie Cai then unwillingly answered, "In this kind of situation, who can gaurentee 100% ticket box sale?" She feels that economy is not doing good and it is still in the state of recovering, and facing the problem of privacy, this entirely is not F4's individual's fault.
Recently, media reports claim that Angie Cai is a bloodsucker of Jerry, therefore Jerry insisted going solo in other company and instead of continuing the contract with Fu Long management. On the other side, Vic just continued his contract at the beginning of this year already. As for Ken Chu, he has already fixed a decade contract and the possibility for Vanness to continue his contract is high. Therefore, this might result them to become F4 - 1 = F3 forever.
F4 Popularity drops? Going solo is gonna help or be bad?
To find out the results, reporters and media have gathered all their 2years achievements and at the same time, discussing which member of F4 can still make it through this few years and who will fall flat.
TV/Drama Series: After flying solo, potential decreased greatly.
Let's talk about drama series first. All F4 members after shooting Meteor Garden, continued to flim other Tv/Drama Series. For Jerry, he had <Love Injury>, <Come to my home!> For Vic, he filmed <Poor Prince> and once again co-operate with Ken and came out with <Love Storm>. For Ken, he hosted <Marmalade Boy>. Lastly, for Vanness, he hosted <Marriage Office (Qiu Hun Shi Wu Suo)>.
Out of so many dramas, Jerry's <Come to My House> seemed to do better in this case. However, when comparing to 5566's <My MVP Valentine>, it seemed to lose out a bit. This made people think twice again bout their real potential.

SOUNDTRACK:LOW PURCHASE RATE OF LOVESTORM and Vic's Remember I Love YouNow, lets change the subject to Soundtrack. Previous year, ZZ released his 1st album Make a Wish as well as Vanness Body Will Sing.

These two 'hot'bods made their very first step in the music industry. Under focused publicity, Vic's virgin album squeezed in smoothly into Singapore's RIAS Year Best-Selling Album. Vanness's then a bit lower.. but it was still nominated as Best Selling Album too.
This month, Vic Zhou Yu Min released his 2nd album 'Remember I Love You' which only remain in the Taiwan G-Music's billboard for only a week. Obviously losing to 5566 and Elva Hsiao and other singers who similarly released their albums in the same month. .
Some people thinks that F4 isnt that hot anymore, but Angie Cai then disagrees that because ZZ released his album around the Chinese New Year. So less publicity was did and plus the roaring of piracy products.
Another 2 members, Jerry Yan and Ken Chu then never had their albums released yet. If the delay is because that they cannot find suitable songs, then theres nothing they can do. But if they are to delayed any further, perhaps, it will affect greatly their popularity and attention by fans.
MOVIE INDUSTRY: Vanness awaits Korean Movie industry.
Now to Movies. Among the 4 members, only Vic have not join in the crowd.
Comparing to performance, Vanness did a good job and making a new perfect appearance. However, no matter where we see, only his body improve more than his heart. or probably, Vanness' role is better to make use of than the role that Jerry hosted in Magic Kitchen, secretly falling in love with Sammi.
Ken acted as a student in Sky of Love. His acting skills is so-so, but worst, this movie is originally extracted from a Korean movie. If audience is to compare both of this test, i am afraid to say that it is not to ken's advantage.
When comparnig ticket box sales, no one did good. Magic Kitchen had the benefit of releasing in Chinese New Year and acting with Andy Lau and Sammi Cheung, but never did they thought it will crash with another big blockbuster movie: Gui Ma Kuang Xiang Qu which did better.

Vanness is then waiting for Star Runner to be filmed in Korean. He also awaits for better results as he is acting with Korean Hot female star or maybe stepping into Korean music industry?
In conclusion from the results above, we can actually confirmed that F4's popularity did fell after the individual fled solo. For Jerry who always is the main lead, in anywhere, he still can develop further. As for the other 3, there are more for them to catch up. Especially for Ken, he needs to put in more effort.

Ken Chu & Vanness Wu would maybe have the chance to work again in Chu Qiu Xiao Zi after Meteor Garden II. And the female lead in the show would most likely be Lin Yi Cheng.
Scriptwriter, Xiong Xiu Zhen says, F4 has a large group of faithful fans in both Taiwan & China. She intends to work together with the Tv station in Shanghai, and get F4 to be the lead to flim Chu Qiu Xiao Zi. However, Jerry is proceeding more towards the movie industry while Zaizai is busy fliming his new show and their schedules was very hard to hit together. Therefore, only F2, Ken Chu & Vanness Wu shall take the male lead while Lin Yi Cheng would be the female lead.

The following article is an interview by a newspaper (or mag, i'm not too sure) and the interviewee is Zhi Xiang Li - one of F4's managers.
Manager reveals for the 1st time, the truth about the disbandment of F4
Rumor #1: The truth about the disbandment of F4
According to a particular newspaper which reportedly received reliable news, reported that Jerry Yan, who has only 6 mths left to his existing contract with his management agency, has the intention of forming his own company for his own future developments, and he's holding a very firm stance on his decision to not extend his current contract. As such, F4 will officially disband come September. That article also provided a very clear view regarding the contracts F4 signed. That is, the 4 of them currently belong to Taiwan Fulong, Ken Chu has signed a 10-year contract a long time ago, Vic Chou has also extended his contract by 3 yrs at the start of this year, thus leaving Vanness Wu and Jerry Yan, both having 6 mths left to their contracts. Fulong is currently trying very hard to get the 2 of them to extend their contracts, as understood, the chances of Vanness extending his is very high, whereas Jerry Yan is proving to be a very difficult target, he has told Fulong straight that he intends to form his own company to manage his own developments. He's bent on leaving, as such, it's unavoidable that F4 will disband
Clarification #1
Zhi Xiang Li too seems very helpless when he was replying our questions, but still, he made the simplest rebuttal: "No such thing. It's the first time we've heard this, this rumor will occur almost every month. There's no such thing."
With regards to the particular newspaper reporting that Jerry wish to form his own company, Zhi Xiang Li clarified that actually each of F4 have all along have had their own company, that being offices opened under their own names. "They had these offices since they signed the contracts with us", Zhi Xiang Li said: "In Taiwan, every artiste will open an office of their own, this is for them to handle some of their private stuff."
As for the most debatable question regarding Jerry Yan's contract, Zhi Xiang Li insisted that Jerry's contract with them will not be ending so soon, but they have been discussing the issue of extending his contract. As for the progress of the discussion, he said: "The discussion went very happily, but this is confidential to our company.
Rumor #2: F4 is not a group
To support the 'fact' that F4 has already disbanded, that particular newspaper reported that since last year, basically each of F4 have already started on their individual developments - Jerry filmed <Magic Kitchen>, Vanness filmed <Star Runner>, Ken filmed <Sky of Love>, while Vic concentrated on filming idol drama <Love Storm>. Also, when they were interviewed on several occasions, they insisted that the 4 of them only got together because of <Meteor Garden>, and that they hope that come the future, each of them will be able to identify his own goals and work towards that. But even though the disbandment of F4 is at hand, the 4 of them cannot avoid the possibility of working together again, because the commercial contracts they signed with Pepsi and S&K were signed under the name of F4, as such, if the advertisors organises any promotion, the 4 of them will have to come together as F4 again.
Clarification #2
With regards to this question, Zhi Xiang Li feels that "we'll need to have a really long discussion". Because, it seems that till now, others still don't seem to understand the nature of the existence of the group F4. "Initially, the 4 of them is neither a group nor a boyband. In <Meteor Garden>, their roles is that of a group, but when they signed their contracts with us, it was as individuals, and not as a group, hence now we are also waiting for good scripts, good music, only then will they be able to come together as a group.
There may be some concerns raised towards Zhi Xiang Li's answer, because looking at F4's current hectic schedule, it seems almost impossible that the 4 of them will be able to spare some time to come together to film a drama serial, but still, he brought another good news: "We still want to hold concerts. Hopefully by year end or beginning of next year, we'll be able to hold a worldwide tour.
Rumor #3: We did not get others to sing on behalf
Another recent issue is that recently, while being interviewed by a HongKong radio station, Luo Da Yuo announced publicly that he does not like F4, because entertainment factor stood 90% of F4's music, making it totally different from actual music. He even said that a friend told him that when F4 sings the harmonization part of their songs, it's not totally sang by them alone, but got others to sing on their behalf.
Clarification #3
With regards to Luo's criticisms, Zhi Xiang Li insisted that they did not get others to sing and emphasized that that's only back-up vocals: "You all also listen to a lot of cds, actually nowadays back-up vocals need not be sang by yourself, you can employ professional back-up singers to sing it for you, but the main vocal is still sang by themselves. Be it Jay Chou, Jolin Cai or Elva Hsiao, they also employed professional back-up singers to act as their back-up vocals!"
As for the part about entertainment factor exceeding that of real music, F4's album producer Liu Tian Jian said adamantly the other day that the music industry itself is an entertainment industry, and F4 is an entertainment group, entertainment is a singer's responsibility. Compared to Liu's outburst, Zhi Xiang Li's answer is much more polite: "Everyone has his/her own standard towards appreciating any songs, he's a senior, of course we will thank him for his guidance and comments."
Then will F4 change their music direction because of this? Zhi Xiang Li feels that: "We can't do anything about this, because there's always so many comments, F4's fans feel that their songs are very nice, we'll not change their music direction just because Teacher Luo said that their songs contain too much of the entertainment factor, what if we change the type of music they do, and the fans feel that their songs are not nice, then what are we to do? But of course, we'll still look for songs that suit the 4 of them.

F4's Manager's View On The Boys Themselves:
On screen, idols are fully packaged and always show their best. However, not many know what they get up to or are like behind the camera. Let's find out what F4's manager - Zhi Xiang Li has to say about F4:
Each member's personality is very different, ZZ might look dumb from appearance but is very clever and know what everyone thinks. When he is unhappy, he would be really quite. You have to find out from someone else the reason behind his mood. Then friends would try to get him out for a chat or send sms to him. ZZ is very honest and can be very mature. The most important thing is that he does not bring his mood into the workplace, personal things and work are separated clearly.
Jerry is a perfectionist. He works very hard, hence wishes that everyone can do the same, that's how misunderstandinds occur. Jerry is not wasteful, when you go out to eat with im, he requests that everyone eat what is ordered, otherwise he thinks its a waste. Jerry stills rides his old bike, as he does not want to "shu da zhao feng." When he rides, he wears a helmet, so no one recognises him, and is very safe.
Vanness has big plans and is very generous to everyone, however, as he is an ABC, he deals with things differently compared to the Taiwanese boys. For example, when not working, he is very relaxed and wears casual clothes and no accessories. He focuses on actual tasks not people, and is very competitive. But honestly, he works very hard.
Ken is too much of a 'naturalist'. Even during filming, he likes to be in nature. He also likes to cook and has traveled may palces to learn from the best. Once when F4 went to Thailand, TV stations' boss gave him a gold necklace, with a market value of at least $50 000, the day before leaving, Ken gave it to his body guard as a present - everyone was very shocked.

5566 depends on F4 to scrape money
Rumored that Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu will be on the platform
Posted: March 8, 2004
This year 5566 has 4 big selling overseas concerts. There are rumors saying that F4’s Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu are invited to be special guest at 5566’s concert in the Philippines in May. Even selling tickets in the name of F4 on local concert advertisements. 5566’s broker, Sun De Rong denied, “Nonsense! Someone made it up.”
Chinese-Filipinos on the net expressed on 5566’s fan sites, “F4 be in the Philippines in March. Afterwards Jerry and Vanness will attend 5566’s concert in May.” People on the internet protest that F4’s management company isn’t doing anything about this, letting F4 help 5566 sell tickets making many local F4 fans mistakenly buy tickets for 5566’s concert.
