Kevin got his start as a singer. For a period of time between the early to the mid 90s, Kevin was quite well known as one of the powerful voices at Polygram (now Universal), including a controversial romance with fellow records co. mate, Linda Wong Hing Ping. He appeared in several Hong Kong movies, but failed to find a name for himself. Between 1995-6, he and Linda Wong ended their relationship. Soon, Kevin left the showbiz to study in the United States. Last year, Kevin returned to Hong Kong and signed with TVB for the first time as an actor.

With a part in the controversial "Hard Fate", Kevin Cheng bumped into reporters at a jade store in Central, where he was taking time out to select a mothers' day present for his mum. With the intention of buying a present, he was met with praises for his performance from the shopkeeper, followed by complaints about the storyline as Kevin was left a little embarrassed. When the shopkeeper saw Kevin, she was so happy as she claimed him as her son, saying: "Your character is called Leung Ka Ming, my son is called Leung Ka Ming as well! My son, I have been supporting you, you are doing great! Keep up the good work! But after watching it for a bit, I don't like the storyline - Damian having affairs and having a child, it makes me so unhappy and it is affecting the image of the jade sellers. Can you feed it back for me?"

To this, Kevin defended the show saying: "Romantic affairs happen in every walk of life, not just in a particular trade. The TV shows just reflect life in general." Finally, the shopkeeper gave Kevin a discount as Kevin bought a jade bangle for his mother costing around a thousand dollars."

Mandy Cho and Kevin Cheng are not only filming together, but they have also been invited to shoot some advertisement shots for a wedding portrait company, but maybe as this was the first time for them both, their poses were rather wooden and Kevin kept wiping sweat from his brow. When he was asked if he was nervous, he said: "I'm not nervous, it is just very hot today. This is my first time so I don't want to disappoint anyone. (Does Mandy Cho meet your criteria?) Wow, she is Miss Hong kong, of course she is pretty, but the woman I marry does not necessarily have to be pretty."

He is not suffering heart desease, only high blood pressure inheriting from his mum but it's under control. He is still healthy. Also, he was a singer before with Polygram (former title of Universal Music), and Linda Wong (his ex-gf) was a hit Polygram female singer too.

Yeah.. Joyce liked Kevin for 20 yrs. but even though Kevin proposed to her and everything she chose Sunny instead. I agree though. I think Kevin and Joyce was a cute couple in there.

TVB's joint production with Thailand's Channel 3 "Fight for Every Moment" is currently filming away on location in Thailand. In order to show the importance of this production, TVB bosses Ho Ding Kwan and Yip Yung Yu headed out to Thailand personally for a press conference and Mr Ho joined Channel 3 director Mr Pravit in addressing the guests.

Also, on the day when the Hong Kong cast members, including Alex Fong, Yoyo Mung, Patrick Tam, Marco Ngai and Johnson Lee arrived in Thailand, they were met at the airport by their Thai counterparts Sririta Jensen and Chatchai Plangpanit before they joined together to pay respects to the four faced buddha and wish for a smooth shoot.

When the producer in Thailand Lo Wing Yin was contacted yesterday, he indicated that they are yet to film any major scenes as they are starting on the more vocal scenes. Alex has already filmed two scenes, one telling of him being pursued by the Thai police and not only did he have to run around all night, he injured his wrists when he was filming a handcuffing scene with an actor police officer and was unable to put his watch on the next day. However, Alex knows it was not done on purpose and has no complaints.

As the filming this time is with the total co-operation of the Thai authorities, everything is going very smoothly and filming in Chinatown early, they were able to seal off the whole street to film. Although the local weather is very hot and rainy and the cast have to keep stopping, they are all well prepared. As for Thai actor Chatchai, he offered the local hospitality and has taken the cast and crew to the banks of the river to eat. As he is very well known in Thailand, he has attracted many onlookers and so he took the chance to introduce the Hong Kong stars to the locals.

yeah kevin should get lead role by now. his acting improved alot and hes so hot. he looks cute with mandy in split second, usually when TVB pairs up somone thats 30 with a 20 year old looks weird, but in kevin's case, this pairing is great

did anyone see kevin on labor day weekend? OMG, he looks even hotter in person. He sang 3 songs, 2 from his old albums and one originally by leslie cheung and man can he sing, his voice is just amazing. Back to his looks, he looked sooo good, i remember after he sang his 2nd song, he was hot cause of the big crowd, so he took off his jacket and everyone started screaming (including me) . i bet they wanted to see him shirtless but he had black shirt under . so sexy... i took alot of pix, i'll share after i upload to the comp.

Patrick Tang and Kevin Cheng were guests at an opening ceremony for a beauty school yesterday and as all the tutors were ladies, Patrick joked that he was very happy to do this job and meet so many girls. Despite this, the two men seemed rather awkward, possibly because they were stuck in a sea of women. Afterwards, Patrick was asked if he was afraid of any rumours, after the earlier news linking him with Bobo Chan. He said impatiently that he and Bobo are friends and there were a lot of coincidences surrounding the reports. However, Patrick admits that he has not seen his girlfriend Marsha Yuen as much lately because she is currently appearing in her musical. When asked if he was worried their relationship may fade with them being apart, he says that maybe his girlfriend has a lot of things she wants to do and the future holds many unknowns. At the moment, they are working hard to realise their ambitions, but regardless of this, he already sees his girlfriend as his wife.

Sonija Kwok, Anne Heung and Kevin Cheng headed over to America earlier to do a series of promotional events for TVBI. In the short space of a week, they went to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in what was a very packed schedule. Seeing the friendliness and enthusiasm of the fans at each venue, they were very happy and hopes that they can have the chance to go to even more places to do promotions.

Anne indicates that the fans that she met on this trip were very warm, having turned up a few hours earlier to wait for them and she was very touched by this, hoping to meet them again in the future. In LA, she was even supported by her own family and friends, so she was even happier. Sonija says that this trip to America was non-stop, having to fly almost every day, but luckily the response from fans was very good. As her series "Hidden Treasure" has already been released overseas, she was very pleased to receive praises for her improved acting,

As for Kevin, this was his first promotional trip for TVBI and he took some time out to have his photo taken at the venu for the US Open Tennis Tournament, but he did not have time to look around or meet his hero Andre Agassi.
