[Oriental Daily 04/12/04]
Kevin Cheng, Raymond Lam and Singaporean artiste Ben Yeo have become good friends since filming for "Yummy Yummy" and yesterday they were filming together in North Point in a scene where they were selling food on a hawker stall and then running away from the officials. During filming, they attracted quite a crowd asking them for autographs and photos and all requests were fulfilled.
Afterwards, Raymond indicated that his native origin is Fujian (Hokkien), so he feels very at home in North Point. He says: "My primary education was in the North Point area and I was often hanging around in the area. As there are a lot of Fujianese people living in the area, then it feels especially homely. Earlier, a granny grabbed me and said she wanted to take me home, it was quite funny!"
Kevin is currently spending three or four days a week in the area filming for the show and he is getting to know the locals now. He says: "My character has a chicken stall in the area, so I have to come and film down here all the time and I see the locals all the time. I know the boss of the fishmonger next door very well now and he often makes seafood congee and invites me over to eat it."

[Ta Kung Pao & Oriental Daily 21/12/04]
Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng were filming on location in Lei King Wan yesterday for new series "Yummy Yummy" in a scene where they were riding together on a bicycle in a rather romantic scene showing their characters developing feelings for one another.
Afterwards, Charmaine was asked whether she felt it was very romantic and she smiles: "I guess so! Actually I have tried this in real life about ten years ago when I went cycling with my boyfriend at the time, but we had a bike each then. Now I can only re-live the feeling through filming."
Charmaine says that modern people are too commercialised now whilst dating and like to go karaoke, watch movies and shopping. She prefers the great outdoors instead. When she was dating, what other romantic things did she get up to? She says: "I remember one guy, who would make a handmade card for me each time he asked me on a date and made my name out of a gold coloured paperclip. We arranged to go to the Peak for dinner once and he gave me a bag of jigsaw pieces. When we put it together it was a giant heart shape. After this, we started dating properly, but I had to go and study in America then and we did not continue after that. (Do you still keep in touch?) No, but I know he is married now and has a daughter."
Kevin says that he has never taken a girl on a bike before, saying: "The last time was during filming when I was carrying Nancy Sit! (Is it a little lighter load this time?) A little!"

The title of "worst ratings of TVB productions aired in prime time 2004" goes to "The Vigilante In the Mask", starring Deric Wan. It scored only 26 points on average, which means about 1.71 viewers tuned in. The second worst is "Dream of Colours", starring Myolie Wu and Rain Li. Its average number was 26.8 points.
"Split Second", the co-production with Thailand, did not live up to the expectations. Another grand production "Blade Heart" also failed miserably, although it starred veteran actors such as Liza Wang and Adam Cheng. "Split" and "Blade" share the third worst title, as both averaged 27 points.

Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng flew to Singapore yesterday morning to film "Yummy Yummy" on location. About 20 to 30 fans saw them off at the airport. Charmaine Sheh will join the cast in Singapore today.
Tavia has brought her mom's home-made soup and her fans' snacks with her for the trip. Asked if she has donated to the tsunami relief cause, she replies, "Not yet! I feel so bad about my procrastination. I'm not a decent human being! Thought about donating every day, but never actually got around to it. I will donate asap, though!"
Raymond will be filming in Singapore for four weeks. There will be a swimming scene, and he already has his speedo ready. Raymond also discloses that the director will add a running scene. As the story goes, he throws up while running a marathon. (Maybe the script writer is throwing a reference to his miserable running effort last summer?) Asked about the tsunami disaster, Raymond says, "It's such a wrenching pain to see the death toll rise every single day. I've already asked my friends to donate on my behalf. We should all do what we can to help."

[Ta Kung Pao 13/01/05]
The cast of TVB's new series "Yummy Yummy - Food for Life" including Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Carlo Ng are currently filming on location in Singapore. As this is the first joint production between TVB and Singapore's Mediacorp Studios, there is a heavy focus on this series and a special press conference was held to mark this. After the Hong Kong cast had joined with the Singaporean cast earlier to film in Zhuhai, they had already become great friends and for Charmaine, Kevin, Tavia and Raymond, they have been warmly received by their local hosts and are working very well together with them.

[Oriental Daily 13/01/05]
Charmaine Sheh, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng are currently filming in Singapore for the joint production "Yummy Yummy" and they appeared with the other cast members at a press event earlier. Although the stars hail from different countries, they still get along very well and what makes Charmaine the most excited is that the Singaporean artistes are very attentive of the Hong Kong actors' performances, so she is sure that there will be a good exchange of experiences.
Tavia indicates that the local hosts have been very hospitable and taken them to visit all the sights and sample all the local foods, so she is feeling extremely relaxed and leisurely as she combines work with pleasure. She says: "Although this is the first time I have worked with Singaporean actors, we are still having a great time and they say that they will take us to eat some good stuff. That's fantastic!"

[The Sun 14/03/05]
Kevin Cheng will be playing a hair stylist in new series "Barber Father Stylist Son" and in order to play his part well, he has been taking time to learn the trade at a hair salon and after practicing on a dummy a number of times, he has finally been able to try his skill on a real head of hair and he was very excited when faced with his model. When the time came, Kevin and his young tutor finally came up with a suitable style and after about an hour of careful snipping, he had created a porcupine head for his victim.
Reflecting on his virgin creation, Kevin said he was very pleased with it: "It has a lot of layering to it and the gel gives it a lot of volume. I am quite talented!" He also revealed that when he was younger, he had thought about becoming a hairstylist: "I am quite vain, so becoming a stylist means that I can pretty myself up without any excuse as well as designing images for other people, that would be very satisfying."

More Kevin news =)

[Oriental Daily]
Kevin Cheng Ka Wing and Nadia Chan Chung Ling earlier worked on the new TVB series FEI DUEN LAU CHEUNG FU JI BING (TRIM SHORT GROW LONG FATHER SON TROOP) in Stanley. In the show hairstylist Cheng Ka Wing and father Lau Tan "opened fire" over something minor and needed Ching Ho Wai who plays Cheng's mother and friend Chan Chung Ling to talk to them.
In real life, Cheng Ka Wing revealed that his father has passed away over a decade ago so he did not have the chance to argue with him. "When I was little, Pa was rarely in Hong Kong so we didn't spend much time together. After he passed away I regretted not having the chance to be with him. So this time in the series I could continue to fulfill what I couldn't in real life. I could have a complete family, relive fatherly love, and the feeling is very warm."
Meanwhile, Chan Chung Ling had a bicycle scene and nearly flipped over. "I know how to ride but this one is a men's bicycle. It's taller so my feet couldn't reach the ground. When I rode it I looked like I couldn't." Working with a fever, after the bicycle riding scene and maybe all the sweat she was "cured".

Kevin news.. I only wish the pic wasn't so small!

[Oriental Daily]
Kevin Cheng Ka Wing yesterday worked on his music video THREE CORNERS TWO FACES (SAM GOK LEUNG MIN) with Wu Ting Yun and Yeo Siew Hui. After years away from music Kevin was very excited about the chance. "After 98 I haven't released a record. This time I won't have any pressure. Even if I don't get paid it's OK, I sing for interest." Ka Wing said that the new song will be in the TVB series collection.
Wu Ting Yun said that in real life she would not let a love triangle happen. "If I know my boyfirend has another, I definitely will make things clear with him. I will even let go. It's better than three people suffering." Yeo Siew Hui has improved in her third music video. "I am very happy to be working with a senior colleague, I get to learn and get paid."

Kevin Cheng Ka Wing and Sharon Chan Man Chi yesterday worked on location on their TVB series FEI DUEN LAU CHEUNG FU JI BING (TRIM SHORT GROW LONG FATHER SON TROOP). Nearby store employees complained about the shoot affecting their business. Security contacted the police. The police confirmed that the location crew had a permit and the shoot did not affect the public, thus it did not interfere. The team finished the shoot and departed.

Nadia Chan Chung Ling and Kevin Cheng Ka Wing yesterday worked on a romantic proposal scene for their TVB series FEI DUEN LAU CHEUNG FU JI BING (TRIM SHORT GROW LONG FATHER SON TROOP). Ka Wing has been sick for a month and coughed all the time. Chung Chung joked that she was risking death with the kiss. Ka Wing patted her on her head and said, "Big girls don't get scared. Share my pain." Before the shoot they chewed gum, midway through they rinsed.
CHung Chung said, "I know about the kiss scene and Ka Wing has not recovered. I am really afraid of getting sick too. Thus almost everyday I have asked how he was. I have never been so nice to an actor." Yesterday before places Chung Chung continued to bring chewing gum, water and jacket to Ka Wing.
Although Ka Wing was sick he still helped Chung Chung and carried the umbrella. No wonder they seemed to have lost themselves in the kiss
.
They had a lot of chemistry and finished the scene "fast, pretty and great", which made Chung Chung breathe a sigh of relief. "My first onscreen kiss was with (Leon) Lai Ming in SONG BIRD (TIN NGAI GOR NUI). After then I didn't have too many kiss scenes." Praising Chung Chung as a comfortable partner, Ka Wing joked, "I almost have to kiss in every show. I have kissed (Charmaine) Sheh Si Man and (Niki) Chow Lai Kei."

Niki Chow, Kevin Cheng, Bosco Wong and Natalie Tong were among the cast members who took part in a press conference for new series "Lovers under Sky Curtains". In the story, Niki will be pursued by the two handsome men and she smiles: "Of course I am happy about it, I am not worried about rumours with Kevin again because I have heard that Bosco is even more likely to have rumours." Even Kevin has put the responsibility of generating gossip firmly in Bosco's hands, saying he has got away lightly this time. As for being labelled as 'Prince of Gossip', Bosco takes it all on board and says: "They are stitching me up, but I'll just go along with it and I can handle it. I'll just see it as helping to promote the series."
Josephine Shum and Angela Tong will be 'seeking a rich man' in the show together with Maria Chan, but Niki says that it is far to difficult to marry into a rich family. Maria laughs that she would like to marry a rich man in real life, but she warns other girls to be careful when they meet a man: "The best thing is to avoid the men at Lan Kwai Fong because many of them are looking for one night stands and are not serious about love. (Have you been asked for this?) It has been hinted, but of course I declined."
