This is the best series ever. Shades of truth is a rip of the movie infernal affairs and yet it has its place in the spotlight, like it was an absolute original.
With the humorous characters, it brings the family together. Funny, serious, romantic, its got the lot. This is arguably the best series ever.
With flashbacks to 900 years ago it brings the story alive. So funny in the way that Dong Chong Cho and Lum Zhi Chong remember their life 900 years ago and relate it to modern society, bringing them chaos is society.
Twisted plot, evil gangsters and unpredictable scripts make this my favourite series of 2005 although its only April. I know nothing ca beat this

I totally agree with you. The chemistry between Chi Lam and Gigi Lai are so perfect. I'm so sad that this series is over.

here in Canada we haven't watched this series yet, and I wasn't sure if it was a good series or not...but now I think I'll go see the first few episodes

i have to agree with you, it is definetely one of the best series ive seen so far. but when some people say its boring, i just don't understand. this series has it all- comdey- action and the thrills.

I absolutely love this series too! This is one of the few series that just had me hooked - i.e. I could not wait to put in the next DVD and finish watching it!

i find this show nice too, but the ratings in hong kong are not very high. surprisingly. i find this show so funny, julian did a great job. i like gigi lai also .. but didnt really like wong hei though.. haha..

I watched this series already, I dont think it deserves the title as best series ever. MAybe best series of the year. I thought the story was boring at times, and there were many stupid moves made. Overall, I still think the series is quite good, but not he best series definitely. I too love Gigi Lai and Tavia Yeung, but still best series is too much.

tvb series, especially the modern ones haven't been too good this year, but shades of truth definitely had a refreshing storyline that kept me interested. it was humorous and the cast was great!

i enjoy watching series where it involves a mix of past lives and present.
there haven't been one for quite awhile, and shades of truth does provide a good mix of comedy and plot line.

i was really feeling this series. it got me hooked. but i was really confused of the whole wong hei and julian circle.

best movie ever would be taking it a little far...however it was very delightful to watch....damn funny most of the time....i did really really enjoy it and i really really like julian...hmmm....maybe one of the funniest movie in a long time...i mean genuinely funny and not just retarded dumbness

i really like thsi series, especially the middle and the last part. the series was very exciting, makes me watched it continously non-stop. yeah, i like julian too. and wong hei is good too...

its certainly a good & hilarious drama to watch. good story build-up and brilliant & happy ending. the only part that i don't like is gigi lai falling in love back & forth chi lam & wong hei.

It's admittedly one of the very enjoyable modern series lately, though it wasn't the
spying plots that get makes the series interesting. I actually think Wong Hei's erratic
character is quite entertaining, ie his coolness and professionalism as corp during the
day vs his slick play-boy extreme character makes me wonder if real cops really do
behave that way .... due to stress ...

Overall, I will rate this a 7 out of 10 for entertainment value.

Yea..it's one of my most favourite TVB series!! I manage to spend sometimes this school holiday to watch it and it's worth watching! It's quite upredictable at the end because the actors are so convincing!! I'll give an A for this series! The unexplainable things seems reasonable at the end. If you felt bored or something which caused you stop in the middle or even towards the end, I'll suggest you to continue till the end or you'll regret!! Don't miss this great series of TVB!!

I really loved this series because it was so unpredictable with so many twists in the plot. As I said before, although it is about the police and the triads, there is no very little violence in this series and it is really a romantic comedy. Although I might not classify it as the best series every, I would say it is in the top 5 and I would recommend it to everyone.

Yeah, this one of the good series that was out last year. There're a lot of plot twists with added comedy and suspense in between. The ending is pretty much unpredictable.

It was hardly the best. It's OK at most. The plot was predictable and Gigi Lai looked awful with that hair. What hte hell was she thinking? Boring at times. It was around average or maybe evne a little below. Wong Hei overacted like crazy too.

It was good, but thats about it.
Teh begining was very promising but then it kinda lagged in the middle which was when i kinda tuned out.
Teh Chi Lam gags were memorable, but teh ending wasnt.

In all it was still a decent series to watch.

This series was good. The beginning was interesting, but then it gets boring. I love Julian in this series because he was there to help Gigi although she never liked him. I prefer Julian to be with Gigi because they look good together. They met first and I already have a feeling that they are going to end up together. Wong Hei looks better with Tavia. However, she also looks good with Julian. I thought Tavia would end up with Chiliam because they seem to smile to each other and share the same interest. They knew each other since they were in elementry school.

Chilam is so funny in the series! Yeah, I would agreed that this is one of the best series ever. I'm really surprised that it never win any awards. Combining Infernal Affairs and Water Margin into a drama series is one of the most creative thing I have ever seen from TVB.

chilam has chemistry with almost every actress he has been paired up with....lol... i really like this series too....i thought that the idea of the past/present life thingy was a bit risky...the "time travel" theme of to get unstuck in time didn't go so well....but in the end.. it was done perfectly....i loved every episode of it...

but wong hei's character turned me off a bit.. he was just too cocky...he irritatates me...
