Dong Hui Arts Institute is famous for its Dance Faculty. All the three male and three female protagonists aspire to become lead dancers. The competition heats up between them, especially in the face of the international audition for male and female leads conducted by the world renowned Octoko Dancing Troupe.

There is Wang Jianyi (Guo Yanfu), the diffident but extremely talented dancer; Li Tianle (Julian Hee), the extrovert who hails from a wealthy family; Zhou Dawei (Chen Baoyuan), an arrogant but exceptionally skilful dancer; Ding Yingying (Jeanette Aw) who is spontaneous and has an aptitude for dancing; Wen Xiaoqian (Chen Jie) who is diligent and nimble on her feet and Tan Meilu (Rosanne), the hardworking and adept dancer.

All of them are enrolled in Dong Hui and are working hard to excel in the varsity’s dance competition, as the top 3 pairs will be able to compete at the regional level in Asia. The finalists will then go on to the Octoko Finals and the winners get a chance to take part in the Octoko World Tour for the next 10 years!

The famous dancer Cheng Mixue (Michelle Yim) returns from China to take on the position of a Chief Consultant in the faculty. She also happens to be Xiaoqian’s mother. All but Yingying’s mother, Wei Aixue (Shirley Yim), are in awe of this internationally famous dancer. There is bad blood between Aixue and Mixue and both their daughters have become exact replicas of their mothers.

Long ago, both Mixue and Aixue were top-notch dancers and shared a sisterly love. However, in order to secure a place at Octoko, Mixue tricked Aixue into giving up her career to marry Ding Yishan. After eliminating Aixue her strongest rival, Mixue naturally became the new dancing queen. Aixue gave up her career for marriage and it was only at his deathbed that Yishan revealed Mixue’s scheme. As Yingying is enrolled in the faculty as well, Aixue attempts to put forth a normal front. Surprisingly, Mixue and Yingying get along very well. Mixue holds Yingying in high regard and even thinks that she is more talented than her mother.

The varsity competition draws to a close. Meilu hurts her leg and as she can no longer dance, she returns to Malaysia dejectedly. Tianle, her dancing partner is also feeling very down as there is no chemistry between him and his new female partners. After much difficulty, they switch careers and soon find their niche in stage directing work.


The regional competition in Asia is round the corner. Xiaoqian is unable to get along with Dawei and they have a fall-out, while Jianyi and Yingying cannot achieve a breakthrough, try as they might. As such, Ouyang Fei, their dancing instructor, decides that the four should switch partners.

Xiaoqian and Jianyi perform very well and are able to secure themselves a place in the finals. Yingying and Dawei are constantly at loggerheads with each other and this affected their performance. Luckily for them, they are still able to make it to the finals. Aixue concocts a plan to create a misunderstanding between Jianyi and Xiaoqian. In the end, Xiaoqian leaves Jianyi and turns to Dawei in the hope of teaming up with him again. As for Jianyi, he approaches Yingying with the offer to partner her again. Both are unaware that they have played right into the hands of Aixue.

Not long after, the long-drawn feud between Aixue and Mixue comes to a head. When Yingying learns the truth, she feels that she has been a pawn in her mother’s quest for revenge and she resolutely gives up everything and takes off.

The Octoko audition finally arrives. Both the judges and audiences are wowed by the brilliant dance routines executed by all the world renowned dancers who have made their appearances. Judging by the sterling performance by Xiaoqian and Dawei, it seems that they will undoubtedly emerge the winner.

At the same time, Jianyi brings Yingying to the forest where they used to practise in the past. They are delighted to see that the two little birds of yesteryear happily chirping away, surrounded by their own offsprings. The significance of the moment is not lost on both Yingying and Jianyi. With Yingying at his side, Jianyi weaves through the heavy traffic at Orchard Road. They make it to the competition just in time but can their unrehearsed dance routine triumph over Xiaoqian and Dawei?

I'm watching this show for Julian Hee. After I saw him in The Champion, I just fell in love!
But wow, you know the guy who plays Jianyi? He's twin brothers with the actor who plays Zheng Hao in Reaching for the Stars. At first I thought that they were the same people, then I read that they were identical twins! Wow!
Anyway, some of this show is good and some is boring. I don't really like Lulu, she's annoying. But anyway, it's still good.

yea i know guo yanfu (jianyi) has a twin bro acting in reaching for the stars. they look very alike, yet in certain pictures and from certain angles they look completely different. i think jianyi looks better

at first,i thought tat it was interesting. but after i read the plot tat xian yi did not ended up wif yoyo but choose xiao qian,i stop watchin raibow connection.
i really don't like Chen jie,the one who acted xiao qian,i prefer jeaneatte aw,she is cuter n sweeter.No offense to chen jie fans.
i am currently interested on lu lu n le tian because they look cute wif each other, but too bad,i think Rosanne actin still needs improvement,maybe she wld wants to learn actin skills from her sister,Race?

i like today's episode too.. made me smile all the way when it was jian yi and yoyo's part. they are soo sweet. i think i'll hate tomorrow episode. cause it causes jian yi and yoyo to not be together. hmph!

i agree with everything you ay, and i don't really like the main guy either, but he looks good when he's dancing. i like david the most out ot he guys, he's so .

i like michelle too, i kind of wish they'll end up together. i kind of want to see an older woman younger guy thing. they haven't done that for so long. all these young kids getting together are annoying me. :duh

and it's so obvious who wins the competition in the end, they showed it in the themesong. :duh

Episode 20 (today, 02.12.05)
Bogged down by problems with Chen Sheng, Aixue, YoYo, Xiaoqian and Dawei, Michelle is on the verge of a breakdown. She seeks refuge at Ouyang Fei’s (Ben) house. Dawei, Xiaoqian, YoYo and Jianyi fall out as well.

Episode 21 (monday, 05.12.05)
Xiaoqian turns up at the last minute to take part in the competition. After a perfect performance, she leaves immediately and snubs Dawei. In an overwhelming effort to win, YoYo fumbles.

Episode 22 (tuesday, 06.12.05)
Michelle gives Dawei a slap when the latter refuses to accept her rejection. She then slaps Xiaoqian for refusing to believe that she has no feelings for Dawei. YoYo faces reality and begins practising again.

Episode 23 (wednesday, 07.12.05)
Xiaoqian and Jianyi move into Ouyang Fei’s (Ben) parents’ empty house together. YoYo is jealous of Jianyi’s friendship with Xiaoqian. She is stunned when Dawei asks her to be his dancing partner.

Episode 24 (thursday, 08.12.05)
YoYo happily prepares for dinner after learning that Aixue has invited Jianyi over. When Jianyi fails to turn up, she goes in search of him and finds him kissing Xiaoqian in the ice storage room.

Episode 25 (friday, 09.12.05)
Dawei uses an irresistible job offer to entice Ouyang Fei (Ben) to leave Michelle. Jianyi finally realizes that Xiaoqian is the one he loves. He makes it clear to YoYo. Ouyang Fei (Ben) has no courage to propose to Michelle.

Episode 26 (monday, 12.12.05)
YoYo wallows in misery after breaking up with Jianyi. Dawei gives up the competition when Michelle makes it clear that she will never accept him. Chen Sheng suffers a heart attack because of Michelle.

Episode 27 (tuesday, 13.12.05)
Chen Sheng’s last wish is to see Michelle and Aixue dance together again. The two women agree to perform together at a charity show. YoYo is still upset over the breakup, while Jianyi and Xiaoqian find it difficult to dance together.

Episode 28 (wednesday, 14.12.05)
Chen Sheng realizes his dream to bring Aixue and Michelle together again. He dies without telling Michelle that he is her father. YoYo agrees to enter the competition with Jianyi, while Dawei returns to partner Xiaoqian.

Episode 29 (thursday, 15.12.05)
YoYo trains hard for the competition and even hurts her ankle. She refuses to give up and insists on being in the competition. Dawei realizes that Michelle had tricked him into returning for the competition.

Episode 30 (friday, 16.12.05)
FINALE!

Despite having a swollen foot, YoYo dances well and wins the championship with Jianyi. Michelle accepts Dawei’s love and gets ready to return to America. Xiaoqian decides to visit her hometown in Taiwan before joining Michelle in America.

but didn't see that coming though, the fact that he choose that boring girl XiaoQian over the main girl YoYo.

i always thought xiaoqian liked dawei, what happened to them?

i don't get how michelle could be rejecting him all along then suddenly accept him in the end, i was hopping for that ending but it didn't seem possible.

Mi Xue was a young girl who felt that she was about to lose everything in her life, so she made a choice, and it was a bad one. she spent the next few years regreting her decision, but then she really did feel that Rui Xue took away her man. the flashbacks shows to side of the story, from each characters point of view.

i don't think she is a bad person, she just made a mistake when she was younger. Not all of us are like Rui Xue who's never done anything wrong in our lives.

obivously i don't like Rui Xue, she isn't as strong as they made her out to be, she couldn't stand up on her own two feet and blamed everything on Mi Xue for ruining her career. Career isn't everything. Mi Xue can't be blamed for the way Rui Xue's marriage turned out. I think Mi Xue believed that since he loved her so much, Rui Xue would have a good life with him. she just wanted to have something for herself.

Actually, her hairstyle is okay 4 me.....but I prefer it when she ties her hair half ponytail....I don't like it when she lets it loose because it luks all puffy.....How do u post pictures here anyway?

The episode yesterday(Asian championships) was great! I loved their dance but I liked the "fleeting life" dance better...the one where they wore jungle costumes...
