Organisers of the CCTV-MTV Music Honors have announced the candidate lists for this year's three major awards for Chinese mainland singers decided by audience votes.

Pop singers Pu Shu, Sun Nan are among the five nominated for the Most Popular Male Singer of the Year, along with Sha Baoliang, Lu Yi and Luo Zhongxu.

The five nominated for the Most Popular Female Singer of Year include Sun Yue, actress-turned-singer Zhou Xun, Jin Haixin and Han Hong.

Uygur singer Ai Erken is leading among the five promising singers nominated for the Best Newcomer of the Year.

The three major awards, as well as 23 other awards selected by a panel of judges, will be announced and handed out on July 24th in Beijing.

Whitney Houston will be the star highlight of this year's Music Honors while on her debut China tour in late July.
