wow jimmy lin in a movie.. habn't seen him in movie for a while... n yes i do agree that it would be a little werid if there are no more JSTAR people in the movie for that time section since there is always them in it.... but i guess itz a time for a little change... mayb it would even get pretty good ratings since jimmy lin is in it.... I also agree with the thing about the korean stars... i can see that it is true that they don't gotta befamous as long as they are not bad looking and is korean.... n i think these are movies that can get them famous too....

This is Jimmy's first EVER modern idol drama. He's never done one before... please see his thread for more details, but the drama should involve car racing (his other profession).

I don't have a problem with Korean actresses if they do a good job (let's face it... it's not like all new Taiwanese actresses do), but I do get annoyed with dubbed voices. Even Ariel's voice in TWFX and Wu Zun's in Tokyo Juliet really just didn't sit well with me... and I thought Ariel's acting was great! Silence got around this problem by making Park EunHye (who is moderately famous in Korea) mute... and I thought she did an amazing job

But yeah... I've never heard of this girl before... Weird that SETTV couldn't get someone else... I've read articles saying that SETTV's dramas are the most popular abroad. Park EunHye is moderately famous (as I said), and Jang NaRa is really well-received in Korea... and, although she turned it down, best newcomer Yoon EunHye (of Goong/Princess Hours) was, according to her representative, offered the lead in Slam Dunk. So... yeah. Weird that SETTV couldn't get someone already established.

Jimmy Lin and Liu He Na are the male and female leads of San Lap's new idol series
"Fang Yang De Xing Xing". This is Jimmy's first idol series in his 15 years in the industry.
He won't have to wear a wig, but he has to worry about whether to dye his hair and pierce
his ears. This will also be his first series with love-making scenes.

Jimmy said that he had meetings with the producer Chen Yu San for several weeks about whether
he should pierce his ears. They already decided on it and even found a store to do it.
However, Father Lin was very concerned. He even went to see a fortune teller and was told that
ear-piercing is bad for Jimmy's future. Jimmy followed his father's advise and changed to
magnetic earrings. His ears would turn red after wearing them for a scene. He laughed, "My father
really believes in this. When I first started out, the red t-shirt was the fortune teller's
idea."

Jimmy turned down Liao Zhai 2 and another ancient series to be in Fang Yang De Xing Xing. At
his price of RMB90,000 per episode he is losing over RMB10M. But Jimmy doesn't mind because the
character is a super car racer. That's what's attractive to him. He will also have a lot of
emotional scenes. He showed off some car-overturning skills during screen testing. The producer was
impressed. Jimmy wondered what is so great about filming car overturning. He has 2
similar incidents this year.

This is his first working relationship with the Korean actress Liu He Na. The most difficult part
is that he has no idea what she is saying. He doesn't know when she actually stops talking.
They came out with the idea that the interrupter will act too so he will know when to pick up.

Jimmy and Liu He Na will have a love-making scene. It is sexy but not over-the-top.
Chen Yu San said, "San Lap's policy is no loving-making scenes in its idol series. I was
warned by my manager. But I want to turn Jimmy into a mature 26 yr old playboy. The type who
will go to bed with a woman after 3 dates. Without love-making scenes it is not too realistic
for a mature man."

San Lap and Taiwan TV's first idol series of 2007 Fang Yang De Xing Xing press conference was held on 12/26. A team of 10 sports cars worth over TWD100M led Jimmy Lin, Liu He Na, Li Wei, and Hong Xiao Ling into the field. They wore jewelries worth over TWD10M. San Lap provided security guards for the event. The unprecedented press conference was comparable to that of a movie.

Fang Yang De Xing Xing has a romantic idol theme. It combines racing and modern jewelry into the storyline. The producer Chen Yu San said Fang Yang De Xing Xing is her best series so far, in terms of cast and procution. It exceeds her previous productions.

Fang Yang De Xing Xing is Jimmy's first modern series. He plays the 2nd young master of the E. Shine Corporation. He is rebellious with outrageous behavior. Jimmy turned down Liao Zhai 2 to be in this production. He wants to try out modern series. He said, "When I first started out I was not too comfortable and talked like an ancient person."

Liu He Na flew to Taiwan 5 times to screen test for Fang Yang De Xing Xing. Chen Yu San said, "I saw her picture in a magazine. I found her outstanding and not like a novice."

Jimmy Lin and Liu He Na work well together in spite of the language barrier. She studed chinese for 5 months and can understand a little. Jimmy and she have an agreement that they will each learn 5 phrases of each other's language. Jimmy said that his Korean has improved tremendously. As for Liu He Na she surprised eveyone by reciting a chinese poem.

Li Wei's character is a movie star. Chen Yu San said that they will start working with him and will have a new series written for him next year. This is also Hong Xiao Ling's first working relationship with San Lap. This is her frist time playing a bad woman.

saw her picture in a magazine. She was filming the movie "The Sixth
Exit". Li Wei has a role as a movie star. San Lap will write a new
series for him in 2007. The model Hong Xiao Ling also has the role of a
bad girl.

Jimmy's character can operator any motor vechicles: cars, trucks, earth
movers. His special skill is rebellion and never listens to his father.

Liu He Na's character is a Cinderella who has to support herself by
committing crimes. Her special skill is cheating and feigning innocence after
she is caught. She has served jail time. The first time she and Jimmy
meet is when they both have handcuffs on. It will be explosive.

Now I am not sure if this story has a happy or tragic ending. Is Jimmy really going to end up with LHN? It is a very interesting story, quite complicated.

Liu He Na is a 24 year old ex-felon on probation. She went to jail for
her lover. On the day of her release she goes to a 6 star hotel to buy
a gift for her lover.

Today is the wedding of E.SHINE Corporation's William Lap (son #1) and
Hong Xiao Ling's wedding. HXL is Jimmy Lin (son #2) ex-girlfriend. His
mother's heirloom, the Queen Mary, a blue diamond, is also to be
auctioned off today. Jimmy tried to avoid the wedding but was forced to
return to Taiwan. He slips into the bride's room and kisses HXL. He
then steals the Queen Mary, not wanting it to be auctioned and also to
avenge HXL's betrayal.

The Queen mary is lost. The wedding is cancelled. Security mistake Liu
as the thief and put handcuffs on her. Jimmy doesn't want an innocent
girl to take the blame so he flees with her. Liu puts the other side of
the handcuff on him. They run from the scene with handcuffs on.

Liu is afraid that Jimmy will harm her so she calls her lover for help.
He tells her he is already married and hangs up on her. During the
argument his wife goes into labor. Liu is mad and lies about Jimmy
being her boyfriend and they are getting married soon. Jimmy and Liu
get drunk after losing their lovers on the same day.

Liu unlocks the handcuff, a skill she picks up in jail, before she
collapses. Jimmy takes the drunk Liu to a hotel and is mistaken as a
rapist. The hotel manager calls the police.

Jimmy's family comes to bail him out and he returns the Queen Mary
keeping a small blue diamond for himself. Liu is also released. Jimmy
decides to leave with Liu to Tomorrow's Village to find life's "10,000
prossibilities".

Because of Jimmy's outrageous behavior, E. Shine Corporation is put into a
tailspin. Management demands that William Lap find the Queen Mary
before a deadline. Paparazzi backmails him with a photo of his fiancee
kissing his brother on his wedding day. He didn't know about their
relationship and begins to doubt who she really loves.

Jimmy and Liu arrive at Tomorrow Village and are kidnapped for payment
on bad debts. They flee on a stoken motorbike with broken brakes and
run into a pile of durian, the entire harvest of the village. Villagers
force them to sign a loan contract for payment.

Liu's uncle owe a lot of gambling debts. Jimmy suggests that they will
race. If he wins the debt will be forgiven. He wins and becomes the hero
of the village. Liu starts to have feelings for Jimmy but her
girlfriend asks her to set her up with him.

Meanwhile, another guy asks Jimmy to set him up with Liu. The ferris
wheel that Jimmy and Liu are on breaks and they are stuck in the air
from day to night. They fall in love and Jimmy promises that he will
get her a real diamond.

Jimmy enters the Mr Durian contest and wins. His picture appears in the
newspaper and his identity is exposed. Liu is shocked to learn the
truth. HXL finds out that Jimmy has fallen in love with an ex-felon and
gets very jealous. William Lap, her fiance, realizes that she is still
in love with his brother so he breaks off the engagement.

Jimmy begs Liu for forgiveness and accepts his love and they reconcile.
However, Jimmy's father force him to leave her. Jimmy cuts off all ties
with his father and is willing to spend the rest of his life in the
village as a mechanics. Jimmy's father cut off all financial supports.

Liu's ex-lover's daughter needs surgery. He asks Liu to borrow money
from Jimmy's family. She then realizes the gulf between Jimmy and her.
She is ready to give him up so he can have a better future. However,
Jimmy misunderstands her and returns home in rage. He seems to have
lost his soul after he returns home. His older brother set up a meeting
with Liu to talk to her about Jimmy. On the way to the meeting he is
killed in a car accident. Jimmy blames Liu for his brother's death and
hates her.

Jimmy's characters change after the death and goes to work for his
father. He becomes a ruthless workaholic businessman. Because of guilt
towards his brother he treats HXL, his ex-fiancee, well and tries to
satisfy her every needs. HXL helps him in his work thinking that she
will marry him one day.

Jimmy's hatred for Liu is as deep as his love for her. When he thinks
of the good time he has with her he wants revenge. If he can meet her
again he will make her life miserable to avenge her betrayal...

Oh... his name is Leon Jay Williams, by the way. When people call him just Li Wei (without the last "Lian"), it always confuses me because I think of the other Li Wei (I think that's his name) of WeWe.

He's a "regular" SanLih actor, and he does seem to have a sizable and loyal group of fans. I guess he'll be the "familiar face."

HaNa doesn't look 20, but she's certainly pretty. So it sounds like she must at least understand some Mandarin since she's already had a couple of Mandarin projects... do you know if she's done anything Korean?

Ha Na has been in Taiwan for months and also taking Chinese course. She can speak some Chinese.



Ha Na acted in a Korean movie in 2004.

Thanks for the info on HaNa. I am fine with Korean actresses in Taiwanese dramas, anyway, as long as they do a good job... and, at least in my opinion/experience, they have. Hopefully, they find a good voice to dub hers, though.

I'm interested to see Jimmy's "Leonardo DiCaprio"-style acting... because he always looks so happy and cheery to me. It's true that he played a "bad guy" in his movie, "Wolf," and did a pretty good job, but I think the scruffiness helped him out a little. Here, he looks pretty clean-cut.

Okay, I HAVE to say this... the other main actress, Hong XiaoLing... her eyebrows are always raised... a LOT... in the pictures. She looks a little frightened... or like she's trying to make her eyes bigger, but I'm hoping her make-up artist plucked and shaped her eyebrows that way. Has she been in anything?

By the way, I finally read the synopsis of the plot. It's definitely more adult than SanLih's usual fare, what with an ex-felon, ex-lovers, diamonds, racing, and revenge. But that'll definitely be interesting to see. From the looks of it, the first part of the plot should move along quite quickly...

Well, as long as she can pull of her character, I'll be fine. I keep an open mind to actresses/actors I don't know. Seems like her character's supposed to be a little evil, and she looks a bit like Sonia Sui, another model-turned-actress (AQMFS) who did a fantastic job as a villain

HaNa looks very sweet and innocent. I'm kind of confused about this ex-felon business, but I'm guessing she didn't commit any big crime and just did it out of love/devotion for her ex-boyfriend (considering she's out of jail by 24).

Am I the only one who sees SOME kind of resemblance between this and Phoenix (Korean drama)? Like, not enough to say that the drama is copying it in any way, but just like... a pair of lovers, one poor and one rich, who want to be together but are torn apart by circumstance and fate. And they meet years later... the guy is hardened and cold... and there's a little bit of revenge mixed in?

Oh... also, who's the third guy in those press pictures? He looks so familiar...

Hong Xiao Ling is a great actress I couldnt believe she was just a model when I watched Devil 05 with Lee Wei cuz her acting was amazing...she did really good job in ever serie he were in....but I love Devil 05 the most great chemistry with Lee wei..... hmmm...the storyline looks interesting, can't wait to watch this series, long time didn't seen jimmy act in modern series

Fang Yang De Xing Xing, the new 2007 idol series from SanLih is being filmed now. This is Li Wei Lian first working relationship with Jimmy Lin and Liu He Na. He thought that Jimmy, "his younger brother", is a warm and caring person. They feel like a family. He Na has endless energy. She is Korean and speaks Korean during filming. He can’t understand her. But when she speaks Mandarin she is sweet and lovely. Will he go back to Singapore during Chinese New Year? He said he already went home for Christmas.

The highest rating Taiwan idol series, Prince Turned to Frog, is about the romantic love story of Cinderella and a rich man. Fang Yang De Xing Xing is also the story of Cinderella. What is different is that this time Cinderella is a smart con artist. And the rich man is the 2nd generation of a jewelry corporation. In the series, Li Wei Lian plays the older brother of Jimmy Lin. His character is reserved and calm, who accepts everything unconditionally. His brother, on the other hand, is rebellious, crazy, warm-hearted, and arrogant. Li Wei Lian said, “Jimmy is a very warm person. We feel like a family.”

Li Wei Lian said, “Filming Fang Yang De Xing Xing is different from the other series he did. It is more difficult because there is no English in the script. I have to spend more time studying it. Nevertheless, I have an easy time because I will be in only 7 episodes. Lee Wei will join us after that.”

In the series, Li Wei Lian, Jimmy, and Hung Xiao Ling have a triangle love affair. HXL is Jimmy’s ex-girlfriend and also Li Wei Lian fiancée, but Li Wei Lian didn’t know about it until the very end. Li Wei Lian said, “If it is in real life, I would choose to quit. I don’t want trouble.” As for Liu He Na, Li Wei Lian said, “She is cute, has a lot of energy and never gets tired. She is Korean. I don’t understand her when she speaks Korean during filming. But when she speaks Mandarin she is very lovely and her smile is sweet.”

However to me, Korean actress acting with other people like Japanese and Taiwanese, I don't like it. The combination of their acting don't match. I think not just one actress but most of the series that have a korean actress in there. I think korean are meant to act in Korean drama because it collide with their acting ability. I'm not saying this in a bad way.

I hope this one will be good though because I haven't seen Jimmy in a long time and this is his first modern series.
