the first japanese drama i've seen.. would have to be Nobuta wo produce. it was okay... but i find there isn't much romance in japaense dramas... well the ones i've seen haven't had any. in Nobuta wo produce nothing really romanctic happened, same with Attention Please and Gokusen :(

I have just recently began watching some Japanese dramas. My first Japanese series is probably Hana Yori Dango, it was great. I then watched Long Vacation, which I thought was quite boring. Good thing about Japanese dramas, it's short so even if it's dull, it will be over soon. And of course in some other cases (ex. Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2), it's short and sweet. =]

My first Japanese Drama I ever watched was 1 Litre of Tears.
Gah, so sad >_<
Yet so touching, and you learn a lot of things from the drama, not just about the disease, but about courage and hope and appreciating life more..

I'd have to give it to One Litre of Tears. It was so touching. I loved it a lot. And it got me started on liking Jdoramas. And Ryo of course. Beautiful drama.

Can't really remember. Probably Hitotsu Yane no Shita (Under One Roof) starring Eguchi Yosuke. That's a very long time ago. It's a story about six siblings who became orphans after their parents died in an accident. Can't remember much of the details now cos i watched it when i was very young. I've also watched the sequel to it. Seems like mine is the oldest. Oh gosh, i feel old....

GTO...but it was in dubbed in Cantonese. But the first JDrama for me in original language and English subtitles would have to be HYD Season 1.

Long Vacation in the 1990s. 2000-2005, K-dramas ruled. In 2006, 1 Litre of Tears won me back into J-doramas.

of asian shows in general.

but i absolutely loved it and i've been hooked ever since.
right now, i'm waiting for stand up!! ep 7 - finale to be subbed.
i started admiring nino in this drama. he can definitely act. he's effortless.

GOKUSEN!!!!

Jdramas are my fav. type of dramas out of the other Asian dramas. B4 i wasnt even aware that Japan had dramas ( i know, so ignorant and stupid....but i was more into westernized things at the time).

After one fateful day on YouTube, i came across Gokusen, and it just took off from there. Now JDramas are pretty much the only things I watch lol (completely dropped the western tv lol)

Kimura Takuya was hot playing the piano in that.
he smoked a bit too much though.
i think the plot was good and it was sad also.

2001, Kamisama mousukoshi dake or GOD Please Give Me More Time (Kaneshiro Takeshi/Kyoko Fukada). this series makes me realize Japanese can be passionate unlike the "usual" thoughts i have about japanese.

and what makes me hooked to Jdorama up to now is the plot so simple yet so real. now i'm collecting more and more jap series.

My first Japanese series was HANA YORI DANGO! It was soo good! I started watching it because of the manga and i ABSOLUTELY LOVED the series. ^____^ It made me feel so warm and cheerful inside. They should make more drama's that can move people's hearts and change their view of things haha off topic sorry!
