5566 is a taiwanese boyband consists of 5 guys, Tony, Zax, Sam, Jason and Rio. They are formed at 21 January 2002. Some people said that they are formed because of the show My MVP Lover, but the truth is, they are already 5566 even before MVP came to air. The show 'My MVP Valentine' started airing at 20 July 2002 and considered as a successful show that brings the 5 of them in fame. 5566 described themselves as “five guys with six different talents”. Their 1st album, entitled '5566's 1st album' and '5566's 2nd Album Zhi Ai' have been a success and they have just released their 3rd album, entitled "Hao Jiu Bu Jian" in 19 August 2005

Not content with just one Taiwanese group? Here’s another one. Composed of Tony sun, Zax Wang, Sam Wang, Rio Pang and Jason Hsu, described as “five guys with six different talents” (singing, hosting, acting on TV, dancing, and doing advertisements and movies or shooting hoops), the guys are collectively referred to as the 5566.

The group was initially dismissed as F4 wannabes but the good-looking guys are dead set to establish themselves as the Nsync of Mandopop (Mandarin pop) since they were introduced on Jan. 21.

The drama, My MVP Valentine (now aired over GMA 7) gave teenage girls back in Taiwan something to fill the gap while F4 was away from the limelight as they filmed Meteor Garden 2.

My MVP Valentine, the new series about two rival high school basketball teams, also spawned a hit soundtrack that was gladly snapped by fans. Cashing on the unexpected popularity, 5566 swiftly recorded its debut studio album titled 1st Album.

To know the guys better, here’s a backgrounder. Tony, the bandleader, is an ex-Hokkien pop star who plays the slam-dunk hero, Prince, in My MVP Valentine.
Loud-mouthed Zax was formerly with another boy band. Rapper Rio is a former actor.

Sam, who plays the villain in the teleseries, was a national soccer star turned fashion model and TV host. Jason lost his unsightly flab through dancing. He’s the one with the fab hip-hop movements.

So, there you are. Get crazy with the young, Taiwanese idols.

Well I havent watched it, but I've seen the trailer when Ya Yu ride on his motorcycle until jump onto something. waaakz.. can't wait to watch.. the stunts look soo cool. Tony don't want to take Ya Yu's part at first, cos he stars as the main in MVP already, he is thinking of giving it to the other band members. But then, the producer had made the show based on their hopes putting Tony as Ya Yu, so he had to give in.

Finally Xiao Dao is back! and his hair? cut short!! but it does not look bad too!
haha.... I love their 2nd album! Its really great! and not to mention WESTSIDE STORY ROCKS!

LOL.. it doesnt look bad.. no offense to xiao dao, he just look a bit excluded. He was the one with the shortest hair.. *lol* he look more chubbier though.. don't you think? lol and what make him look excluded is the fact that his hair standing upwards.. though I like his hair before.. and Jason too lol.. I like him in MVP with spiky hair.. As for Zax.. not bad for the haircut.. And for Tony.. absolutely better than his hair in westside, don't you think? But I love his hair when its cut short and dyed like in MVP.. as for sam... hmm.. I think short hair better for him XDXD

2nd album is nice.. i love for you and one more try the best XDXD I reckon they are better for sad songs.. their voices just sweet.. *lol*

I get to know them from MVP Valentine too. Before I thought 5566 was Tony, Zax, Rio, Jason and Gao Tian Qi *LOL* and it turn to be sam the baddie.. ^^ I love Tony's voice.. and Zax's they are just sweet... and their songs... I reckon sad songs match them XDXD

I agree.. Xiao Dao seems to be a bit chubby liao... Xiao Dao's long hair suits him.. now? erm.. not really match him! Tony is the best! haha.... the look in 2nd album makes me really happy and he's too handsome! Zax? no comment! always look great!

Yep.. his father left before he even born I think.. and then after his popular and everything the father trying to go back, money and popularity probably.. but Tony refused and said something like I dont have a dad.. I think.. and do you know that he is a really bad person before, like a rebel and stuff.. and the school only make decision not to expell him because he is in the volleyball team and that team usually wins cup for the school. so sad..

He was really rebellious.. and the school was planning to kick him out.. its just because that he is in the volleyball club and that volleyball club wons so many awards, so the principal dont dare to kick him out. doesnt this resemble his character in WESTSIDE STORY?? that is so cool=) no wonder his acting was soo good! particular at that scene where he first met his dad.. and reunited eating ice cream. i didnt know y, but my tears was so falling woh!
