Jerry's Family:

Father: Deceased
He has mom and an elder sister. He is very protective of them that he won't let them to be filmed. When his sister bought an apartment for getting married last year, he paid part of the down. That's why there was rumor that he bought an apartment last year, but it was not true.
Ken said that Jerry's sister is very pretty and Jerry said that his sister likes Ken. Jerry claimed on "Asian Top Show" in 2001 that he looks like his mom, especially his nose.
Jerry is a conservative Chinese man. In his mind, his family is the number one priority. He is the only man in the family. That's why he feels like taking the whole responsibilites on his shoulder. That's why he had started working part time at ATT as a bartender since high school. That's why he continued working at the pub/bar after he had become a model. That's also why he decided not to attend college (which he was considered a good candidate in his teachers' eyes; this is also a pain in his life), but to join the army and to finish his duty in two years, so he could start working full time as soon as he could. That was a big decision for him, as he was the lead student in class throughout his high school years. In order to be a lead student, one needs to have excellent conduct and grade.
He is very close with his mom. He said that he always treats his mom as his sister, so his mom won't feel like she is getting old. Jerry is always worried about her health. When Jerry was young, they were so poor that occasionally they needed to worry about where the food was for the next day. His mom needed to borrow money from others, even when other people looked down on them. Jerry clearly remembered that there was once when they moved, they did not have money for hiring the moving company. Therefore, his mom used a trailer to move their belongings back and forth that he could not tell how many times in total. That's the time when he determined that he needed to respect his mom all his life. Jerry described his mom as a typical country person that she is honest and down to earth. When Jerry worked in places full of immoral attractions, like pubs, bars, etc..., it was his mom's words which kept him from going to the wrong directions. After he has become popular, it is also his mom's words which keep him from losing his directions, like other popstars who take drugs, race cars, and/or meet as many girls as they can. Now Jerry Yan is superstar in Asia; however, off the camera, he is still the man in the neighborhood. Please don't be surprised to see him wearing tee shirt, shorts, old shoes, and carrying the same old backpack again and again.
When we see Jerry become sentimental on tv on different occasions, most of the time that's when he remembered the hardship and the embarrassment his mom had gone through in the past.

Basically he likes all kinds of food, but no spicy food.
He likes fruits (peach??), steak, yohurt, etc... I forgot when, but once his refrigerater in his hotel room was photographed, and there were milk, yohurt, fruits, and water in there.
When he went to US last May, Vanness led all four of them to Lawry's, a very famous steak house in LA, USA, and guess what? Jerry ate two orders of steak.
Yes, he is a big eater. Once he said that he has never needed to lose weight or concern his weight. Whenever F4 eat together and he is always the one who finishes all the dishes. Therefore, he has a nickname of "Trash can." From recent news in Japan, we've all known that he can eat five bowls of noodles. However, where does the food go? When he went to Mau Leung's (F4's previous agent) restaurant in Taipei, he order the Shabu Shabu with clear soup. When he filmed "Come to my home," he loved cheese cake. He also eats chocolate. However, he does not eat junk food very often.

People -
Of course his mom is number one, la. For other people, I don't have enough information to say.

Good friends whom he has known for at least 4-5 years: Xiao Long, Ms. Lin Chih Lin. (LZL)

Jerry has tried very hard to keep contact with his old time friends. Once he said when his old time friends made friend with him, he was very poor and he had nothing. When they chose him as a friend, it was because he was him, not because of his fame and money which he has got later. He has known Xiao Long since youth. When he was very very poor in the past, it was Xiao Long who lent him the money. They once sold goods at the night market together.

Girl friends: He has liked/loved three women (source: his photo album.) He likes girls who are independent, wise, and caring. He has cleared up the misconception that he loves older women for many times. Age is not the issue, character is more important. He is looking for a wife, not a girl friend. He hopes that his future wife can take care of his mom for him while he is working and can communicate with him (being his soul mate), especially when he is frustrated. Then what is he willing to do for his future wife in return? He said basically every thing. He will treat her very nicely. He was amazed how nice he had treated his previous girl friend. His previous girl friend was five years older than him. He described her as wise and independent; however, he also mentioned that the reason for their quarrels on occasions was because his girl friend thought too much after watching him dealing with his customers (mainly women??) as a bartendar (who wouldn't if having a boy friend like him?).

Hobby
- He loves playing basketball and swimming. Others commented that basically he was good at all kinds of sports. I've heard that he was a member of the basketball team at high school. When he was at high school, he was very frustrated as he needed to study, to work part-time at ATT, and also he wanted to stay in the basketball team.

He loves swimming. However, he can't swim at the public swimming pools any more. So, where can he swim? Fans have spotted Jerry/F4 swimming/doing weight training in the middle of the night at the hotels they stayed. Of course they were with security guards.
Other than sports, he also loves reading, watching movies, and listening to music.

Reading: He reads fashion magazines, so he can learn the poses from other models. He also loves reading motivating stories.


Movies:
He loves all kinds of movies, as one of his dreams is to work as a director or cameraman when he does not want to perform in front of the camera any more. His favourite movies are: Dancing in the dark, Angela's Ashes, etc... When he watches movies, he is easily touched by the stories.


Music:
He likes movie soundtracks, Jazz, and Mandarin/Cantonese songs. His favourite musical instrument is piano, although he does not know how to play. However, he said that he had a pair of big hands which were very convenient when playing piano. When he played a pianist in "Come to my home," he went to his friend's home and asked his friend to teach him, even though limited shots of his piano playing were taken.

Clothes -

Who can forget his blackpack? It is his buddy now. He can't go anywhere without it. Second will be his hat. From fishing hat, to cap, to the latest hat. It is very interesting that the purpose of his wearing a hat is to staying low key and hoping that fans won't recognize him that easily in public. However, his hat is now the number one item used by fans to search for him. My recommendations: Don't wear hat any more. Let us see his handsome eyes. He should realize by now that fans will recognize him no matter how he dresses.
He likes old clothes, tee shirts, and jeans. Oh yeah, who can forget the yellow climbing shoes? He has one blue tee shirt which he has worn for years. Whenever he needs some comfort and confidence when he goes to a new place, he wears it.
Jerry really tries very hard to keep his origins. He said that he could wear suits and branded clothes when performing. However, when off camera, he insists on looking like ordinary young people in Taipei. That's why when he was filmed by AppleDaily during his vacation, he was wearing a jacket, a white tee shirt, and jeans. A Taiwan fan said those were the typical clothes worn by a ordinary person in Taipei.

High school years:
On Cover People, he mentioned that throughout his high school years, he had been the head student of the class who was required to have good grades and conduct. He was always in a leading position as commander. He was also the member of his school basketball team.
Once he mentioned that he was sorry to disappoint his English teacher at high school, as he failed his English test. What happened was that he just met some new friends, he fooled around with the group too often that he did not study as much as he used to be, and then he failed his English test. His English teacher was so disappointed that she cried in front of him. On his photo album, we know that Jerry is really scared of girls' tears. He has remembered this incident until these days.
Later, even though he had potential to be a college student, he quitted his education and joined the army early, so he could lessen his mom's financial burden as soon as he could. Not being able to get as much education as he wants is always a pain for him. That's why he was so happy when he received his student fans' report cards. He said that was the best birthday present for him

Is Jerry left-handed or right-handed?
Answer: Jerry is left-handed, but he writes and holds chopsticks using his right hand. Old generations of Chinese parents like to force their children to write and to hold chopsticks with their right hand, like everybody else. Jerry must have worked hard on those when he was young.


MORE FACTS AND FIGURES ABOUT JERRY

1. CAN JERRY ACTUALLY SPEAK JAPANESE ?
Japan has always been the role model for Taiwan in many ways. a lot of taiwanese look up to japan for trends and other stuff. (MG was taken from HYD, a japanese manga and even jerry's memory pieces is taken from a japanese composition). Jerry has watched many japanese dramas on tv and that's where he said he learned japanese. Ms Lin was also his japanese teacher. When he was filming MK in japan, he was seen talking to people in japanese. He was also seen watching japanese films in the plane. Jerry did visit Japan during his break in 2003, as he has lots of friends in Japan and Japan is one of the few countries in Asia that he can still travel freely in the street. In 2001, he did go to Japan to film Love Scar but it was only a few days, and he needed to work nonstop due to Ms. Mok's tight schedule and the then upcoming Taiwan concerts.

2. CAN JERRY PLAY PIANO?
In filming Come to My Place, he was supposed to play the piano in several scenes so he asked for piano lessons in order to do justice on his role. After that, he took continuing lessons.

4. WHY IS JERRY NOT USING HIS REAL NAME?
His real name, Liao Yang Zhen, sounds like a business person name, so they (Comic) changed it for him. In Chinese culture, a person's name will determine his fate so they decided to change it in a modern tune. They actually had two names for him to choose, one of them is Lou Mu Yu and the other one is Yan Cheng Xu, so jerry picked the second name.

5. DID JERRY SERVE IN THE ARMY?
After his high school graduation, Jerry made the decision to join the army but not attending any college, as he wanted to finish his army duty as soon as possible and then started working full time to support his family. He should join the army approximately between 1995 to 1998. The army duty in TW is 2 years. Jerry joined the navy and he was assigned to work in the bottom of the ship next to the engine room. Usually soldiers need to stay in the army base and they are away from their families during the two years of service time, and they are allowed to leave the base only during a few days of vacation.

6.WHAT HE LIKE MOST ON HIS TWO ALBUM VERSIONS

Jerry replied that he liked both but when seeing himself in the day version, he found he had more courage to gaze at himself. Jerry further explained that night version reflected the time when he just entered the showbiz, the more he stayed longer in this entertainment business, the more he became introvert thus misled people’s opinion towards him that he was cool. Jerry revealed that his true self was a person who liked to joke around.

7.ON HIS LOVE FOR HIS FANS

I will bring my fan messages home with me
Jerry has always been secretive with his life. There was once when he requested his friend to help him photocopy some documents without really telling him what they are. But seeing that Jerry is so sincere and was smiling so sweetly at him, he obliged. It turns out that those documents are his fans messages to him. On Fang Jie program (Feng Miang Ren Wu), while Fang Jie was looking thru his bag pack, she came across this stack of paper and actually accidentally crumpled the corners. Jerry just took the stack of paper back and tried to smooth out the crumple. He also said softly to Fang Jie, ok if it is crumpled.

The next day, on the official website, lots of fans left messages to comment on this. They all agreed that they did not expect the usually cool Jerry to be so sensitive (xi4 xin)! He actually brings his fan mail everywhere he goes. So what is Jerry’s answer to this? He said, ‚“The warmth, love, care and concern that I get from my fans thru the mail is very precious to me. Cos I know not everyone is entitled to this kind of privilege. I will definitely remember all the love and support that I get from them. You can actually tell when Jerry reads his fan mail, cos his eyes will be slightly damp after each mail. Sometimes, he will use his free time (while waiting for his next scene) to read his fan mail and his expression is usually full of concentration and chi mi2. Sometimes, he will also share bits and pieces with others. F3 will then make fun of him. They revealed that Jerry has lousy typing skills but he often leaves messages for his fans in their website. Sometimes when you look at him type these messages, he will be concentrating real hard and putting in a lot of effort and thought into his message. Every word (that he types) represents the love and emotions that he feels for each of his fan. among F4, Jerry treasures fans letters and presents the most. If it happens that he was notified (by the company) that he has fan mail/presents in the middle of the night, he will undoubtedly immediately set off to bring it back home! Then he will spend most of the night staying up reading the letters and opening the presents. To Jerry, these letters and presents do not just represent his fans love for him but they also represent xin xie3 and qing2 yi4. Of course, he will treasure them!!!

8.ON HIS LOVE FOR HIS MOTHER

He has witnessed how his mother was looked down on, the way his father treated her and the hardship she endured to raise him. So no doubt Jerry's mum is the driving force behind his success.

All the pressure made life unbearable for Jerry, but simply with his mum saying: "Ah Zhen, breakfast!", it can erase everything bad from his life and let him face the world. Seeing his popularity, his mother is very happy and that's what makes Jerry happy. Earning money and buying a house is all for his mother.

He hopes that one day, when he owns his own farm, his mother would be there too.

Those that love their mother, like Jerry, doesn't just make her happy on Mother's Day, they think about her everyday of their life.


9.ON NASTY GOSSIPS AND RUMORS ABOUT HIM

GOSSIP #1: Jerry is 'nan gao' (difficult)

"If being 'nan gao' means having high standards and refusing to cave in easily, then I admit that I'm like that.

"I wasn't trained in acting and I know I'm not a very good actor.

"But I work very hard and I spend a lot of time and effort in getting ready before... filming.

"I know some of the crew think I voice too many opinions, but I was
only hoping to perfect my performance."

GOSSIP #2: He 'shua da pai' (puts on airs)

"If my mum hears that I show airs, she'll think it's ridiculous. She has taught me since young to be polite to everyone...

"Moreover, I'm new in showbiz, so how can I behave like that?

"I have no idea how those reports came about. Maybe some reporters
are used to interviewees who go all out to please them so that they write only good things...?

"But I really can't bring myself to do that. That's my character. But that doesn't mean I'm showing airs."

"I don't like to talk about my love life, because everything I say is wrong.

"Even if I say 'No', the media won't believe me. They would conjure their own stories instead and it would make my family and friends worry.

10.ON HIS TAG AS VIOLENT DRAGON (bao long) AND HIS AMPHIBIAN PHOTOBOOK

Jerry Yan enjoyed his anonymity in Melbourne so much, he farts on camera and breaks into a spontaneous ballet dance. That's what you'll see in the picture book and VCD he made there, just to prove that he isn't the hot-tempered persona that the media has made him out to be. (CHANG MAY CHOON reports)

TAIWANESE hunk Jerry Yan hates it when people call him Bao Long.
The nickname, which means violent dragon in Mandarin, stuck after he played a hot-tempered student of the same name. But that's not him at all, he protested. Said Jerry: "The name Bao Long conjures up an image of someone who is bad tempered and proud I'm not like that... I hate it when I'm called Bao Long."

Jerry thinks he's been misunderstood. So, to tell his side of the story, he launched a picture book called Amphibian.

Shot in Melbourne at a whopping cost of NT$3 million ($156,300), it features droolsome pictures of Jerry against scenic backdrops and a behind-the-scenes VCD with his own voice-over.

The book's author, Jiao-zi, also captures Jerry's thoughts and views about his showbiz career in essay and dialogue form.

Over 30,000 copies were snapped up by ardent fans in Taiwan in just a week.


11.ON HIS WARY OF THE MEDIA

He says in the VCD: "I'm so glad that I can finally share my views directly with those who support me, without going through the media."

But why is he so wary of the media?

Since he shot to fame on the strength of the drama, Meteor Garden, his wild popularity has attracted lots of unwanted bad press. "What I fear most is when something that didn't even happen becomes news.Once, when I was acting opposite Jacky Cheung, a magazine wrote that I tried to teach him how to act.

"I was so upset. How can that be? I admire him so much that I tremble when I'm reading my lines. How do I dare to teach him?"

Despite being watched by the media, Jerry once stood up for a woman who was bullied by a man in the streets. "He was lashing out at her and he almost wanted to hit her, so I walked over and argued with him," the righteous actor recalled.

Isn't he afraid of being recognized?

"I don't care. As long as I see a man hitting a woman, the man's at fault."

His protective instincts towards women could be the result of being raised by his widowed mum. In fact, the filial son's biggest dream is to save NT$5 million to buy a new house for his mum.

In his book, he recalled how he went to a relative's wedding with his mum and was mobbed by fellow guests who wanted his autograph. He said: "I felt embarrassed because I was at someone else's wedding. But, as long as they're happy, I'll oblige. Just when I was worried that I'd delay the ceremony, I lifted my head and saw my mum smiling.At that moment, I felt like I've done her proud."

He is such a mummy's boy that he keeps mentioning her while shooting for his book in Melbourne.

Flip through it and you'll find Jerry at his happiest and most relaxed state.

Coming back to his media blues, Jerry has this to say: "Actually you can consider visiting me on the job.

"And if you have questions, just ask me directly. Don't make up stories."


12.ON HIS ESCAPES TO BREAK THE SHOWBIZ BURN OUT

Perhaps it's because he has got to roam the streets anonymously - a luxury in Taipei where he's a household name. Or, maybe because the one-week-shoot in December 2003 was a good break for the burnt-out star? In the attached 45 minute-long VCD, you'll also get to see the mischievous side of him.

One moment he's yelling and making faces at people in the streets. The next, he's picking up a stack of newspapers and distributing them to passers-by.

When he meets a street musician playing the accordion, he even lifts his arms and pretends to dance like a ballerina. And, while posing on a blue couch in a bookstore, he suddenly giggles.

"You know why I keep laughing?" he asks the cameraman.

"I just farted and it stinks (fanning his hand in front of his nose)!"

At the Botanic Garden, Jerry even tries to get cheeky with... a black swan in a little pond. Approaching it slowly, he cajoles: "Hi baby! Do you want to take a photo with me?"

When the swan starts swimming away, he yells: "Baby, don't go!"

13.ON HIS WEARING CLOTHES GIVEN BY FANS

The brown jacket he wore when he arrived at HK was sent to him by a fan in TW as gift. She sent them (a jacket with a matched sweater) to FL and she thought that he would never get them. After seeing him wear the jacket. she was so excited that she could not sleep.


This is not the first time he wears clothes sent by fans. Once he said that he did not need to buy any clothes, as fans had sent him more than enough clothes.

14.ON HIS MISUNDERSTOOD ATTITUDE

The host at the Ferragamo party, Ms. Anna Yau, is also a DJ. On her talk show, she talked about the party the night before. She said that it was so crowded at the press conference. Lots of reporters were waiting there. As they were waiting, they got more and more anxious, as they were afraid that they could not take pictures.
At the same time, Mr. Yan Cheng Xu attracted a big crowd and his fans were across ages. The ceremony was held at such a small space circling by lots of reporters, guests, and fans. Even a small matter would turn it into a disaster. Luckily, everything went smoothly. At the end, Ms. Zheng and Mr. Yan Chang Xu were requested to stay by the reporters. Ms. Zheng was very polite and agreed to stay for awhile, although her agent yelled "No more individual pictures" in the back. Both guests stayed for the reporters to take pictures without making any fuss. After the event, Ms.Zheng said thank you to me. Then Yan Cheng Xu walked pass me, but he turned back to me, and said, "It must be tough for you. Thank you very much." At that moment, because both guests finished the ceremony and agreed to the reporters' request without having any hard feelings or temper, she felt that they were very professional and very well-mannered, and she felt so well respected by both of them. She said that April 15 was the first time she had met Jerry. After seeing Jerry for the first time, she admires him and she has good impression on him. She also mentioned that Jerry was very hardworking and he attempted to improve his Cantonese. The topic of her talk show was "The well-mannared singers we have met."

Jerry may be misunderstood because of his shyness and not being talkative, but once a person has the chance to interact with him, he/she will always find out how sincere Jerry is.

15.BEING HANDSOME IS HIS MUM’S CONCERN

When he was in High School, Jerry's shuainess has stolen a lot of women's attention. He was even granted 'The Most Chased Guy' at school. Gossips spread that many of his girl classmates will try many kinds of way to chase him. Starting from calling his home, greeting him on the street till even sends him love letters. This case has got into his Mom's concern, for she was afraid her son will forget himself and fall into those free community. To sort it out, his mum always sorts the phone calls toward Jerry, and not seldom she tells the girls who would come to his doorstep that her son is not around.


16.SAYING NO TO USING ILLEGAL PILLS BY CIRCLE ARTISTES

6 years ago, while Jerry was modeling, he used to part-time as a bartender before and he has seen people having different unpleasant reactions to pills. 18.DEAD SERIOUS FREAK AND STILL JOKING

Jerry, he is very serious and is constantly learning and upgrading himself? At work, he does not joke or fool around? In the end, even the stall owner have to come out and fend off his fans so that he can at least finish his meal in peace.

But some fans are really too ingenious. They even know his mum's address and will often go there to chat with her. As for Jerry's own rented flat, as soon as it's discovered, there will fans awaiting outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. Thus he had moved house 3 times, and his personal belongings have become lesser and lesser because he don't know when his 'secret area' will be discovered again and then he'll have to move again.


20.HOW FRIENDS KNOW HIM

Cheng, a close friend, revealed that Jerry knows a lot. He knows everything came too fast. Everyone would find that his character and talents are not enough. Very often, there would be rumors about him having bad temper, that's because he actually cares a lot. He finds that, if he did not make it clear before he do any performance, he'll let down people and let down himself too. Yan Cheng Xu, Liao Yang Zhen, Bao Long, Ah Zhen, Ah Si, Shao Ye, Xiao Bai Tu, Ah Xu, Xiao Xu, Jerry...this series of names all point to one person. This person has a pair of electrifying eyes, mesmerizing smile and perfect body.

When he was take to meet Jackie Cheung, the music God said to him: "Heard you have lots of hua min!"

Yan Cheng Xu:
This is his yi ming. Apparently, some person worked it out for him by suan ming. This is also the name that is well known in every part of the world, making millions of girls' heart skip a beat. For this name, they have done many of life's first - first time chasing a star, first time buying a star's XZJ, first time waiting in line to say something encouraging to someone, first time voting online for a stranger ane leaving them a message, first time crying for a star...so in 2002, if you didn't know this name...then it means you are getting old and falling behind.

This name, made one of the best director's in Taiwan pay NT$10million for him to act in 3 serials. He who usually doesn't sign easily, did sign to show his gratefulness for the person that gave him a chance in the industry. With every episode's pay of NT$30000-$40000, he would save to buy his mother a house.

This name, also broke HK's 20 year record of having the most number of people at one meet the fans session. Tens of thousands of people went to the event and some even waited for over a week in advance.

This name, is the name for Pepsi. It is that name that made fans in China madly purchase all of the Pepsi cans that came out during its first release. It is the person with this name, whose hat went on auction and sold for a record price.

This was originally a comics character, which Jerry acted out in 2002, which won the award for best Comics Male Lead. This role was said to be a hard one - if he went over the top, people would hate him. But Jerry's portrayal had a combination of ba dao and violent but also an air of innocence. The character was a real bomb that exploded into the heart of all females who have watched the show.

Apparently, Jerry refused the role at first, as he only wanted to act the role of Xi Men or Lei but after to many trial shoots, Cai Jie said to him: "I have a good news for you but it's also a bad news, you will be acting out the role of DMS." I for one, am thankful of her decision. He is the one and only DMS, no matter how many version of DMS there may be in the future, there's no substitute for the original one - Jerry Yan.

Xiao Bai Tu
Those that believe the media would say he thought up the name himself, but after watching Biffi's behind the scene, you would know that it's a name the company's workers gave him. He thinks it's very funny. Maybe it's because after working with him, they see his sensitive side, his easy going nature and empathy that the workers gave him the name. Bao Long is just too far from reality. But to think that such name be used on such a masculine and towering male is hard to imagine but for everyone to accept it is even harder! Maybe the Bao Long is his outer image and Xiao Bai Tu is his inner self.

Ah Xu(Xu, Xuxu)
Mostly used by his fans, as if they are referring to their brother, son or relative. Gives a sense of intimacy. Xu - sunshine, sun only rise at dawn - full of warmth. But is also sounds likes "Shoo" as if trying to put silence to a rowdy crowd.

Jerry
This is the name that his friends called him during his modeling era. It reminds you of that cute Disney cartoon mouse Jerry doesn't it? He does have that quick reflex. Often causing great chaos on TV shows and has great fun with the hosts. He likes everyone to call him Jerry. F4's first time in HK, he expressed that he likes people to call him by his English name -Jerry. Last year, 13th April, he signed Jerry on his XZJ poster. On the 11th of May, he hoped that everyone would call him Jerry during the HK XZJ autograph session. Everyone calls him Jerry now, because everyone thinks of him as their old pal!

Yan Xiao Xu
This is the name that a fan called Pi Pi calls him at Yanchengxu.net. When people sent Jerry a message book, there was reference to the name Xiao Xu. During one concert in China, he said: "I'm Yan Xiao Xu"...I bet that fan was grinning from cheek to cheek. But as everyone knows how important his name is to him, they don't use this nickname very often.

F1
Due to filming of MG2, Jerry was often separated from F3, that's how the media came up with the name of F1. It seems that whoever the media favours, they would point the arrow at them. Poor Jerry had to withstand all that pressure.

Well, a new thread, just nice for the starting of Jerry's new projects.

Anyway, some articles on the Golden Bell Award, the usual mention of TH, Jerry being invited by the Golden Bell Committee & Jerry not being able to attend as he has an appointment with a very busy person. And its mentioned that its a Japanese record producer.

hmmn, i remember that it was mentioned earlier that Jerry's going to start recording his 2nd solo album & the producer was the lady which worked with Jerry for TH theme song. so i wonder what this meeting with a Japanese record producer is abt. surely Jerry is not planning to release a Japanese album in future.

no idea as of now. earlier articles has mentioned that the record producer is the same lady that did Jerry's theme song for TH.
it wld be super great if Jerry comes up with a Japanese album or Japanese single in the future. as for now, hope to know whose the Japanese record producer so as to check back his past works.

“It Started with a Kiss” on SBS Drama Plus started the buzz, and “Hanazakarino Kimitachihe,” despite being something of a mouthful, is also hugely popular. They may only get viewer ratings of 2 percent, but that is relatively high among foreign dramas, and many fans say the actual popularity is far greater since most fans watch them on the Internet and DVD. In Taiwan, “Hanazakari no Kimitachihe” had the island’s highest ever audience rating.

The driving force of the Taiwanese soap opera craze is online fan clubs. The one dedicated to Jerry Yen, the star of “Meteor Garden,” has no fewer than 30,000 registered fans. The fan club of pop group Feilunhai (Fahrenheit) is also enormous, and Feilunhai members Wu Chun and Jiro Wang play leading roles in “Hanazakari no Kimitachi he.” Kim Mi-na, the fan club’s leader, said, “The number of active fans who translate articles about Taiwanese actors and visit Taiwan to see them amounts to 7,300. Including registered fans, the figure far exceeds 10,000.”

One reason why Koreans love Taiwanese drama is that most of it -- and all three series mentioned here -- is based on Japanese comics that are hugely popular, adding the extra thrill of comparing the soap with the original. Due to their popularity among devoted fans, Korean cable and satellite TV channels are introducing more and more Taiwanese dramas. Lee Eun-kyeong, a PR woman for the Korean branch of Taiwan’s GTV, says while only a single Taiwanese drama was imported to Korea in 2006, there are five this year. This fortune teller was shown a poster of F4. Re Jerry, she said he's the most special amongst the 4 & his character is rather unique, its impossible to describe him in just a few words. TW Apple Daily reported that Jerry couldn't attend the award show as he was stuck in Japan. Therefore, TW Apply had the cartoon of Jerry's climbing the Tokyo Tower instead of the "White Tower" saying "It is easier to get on the Tokyo Tower than the White Tower".

Anyway, so interesting, some newspapers still focused the Golden Bell news on Jerry, the one who didn't get nominated.

good morning everybody.

truth is.... i agree with golden bell in giving the father of cui feng the award. i felt that his protrayal was very natural...you emphatize with him despite his imperfections and lighter greed.

its unfortunate that saya didnt win... i love her character very much... so much chemistry with dr su.

old topic but....it is most unfortunate that jerry is not nominated... i wont change my view on golden bell.... anti idol artist.... only to keep the prestige.... im not arguing that jerry deserves to win.... im saying he deserves to be nominated...and deprived him of that....incase in the future...somebody from the idol world wins or jerry wins..... i dont think my views will change.... the awards group disappointed me too much. my aim now... the oscars... bwaharhar.... just kidding.

it seems apple is very nice to jerry these days... thank you.

well, even though filming TH was very tough on Jerry with the long months of filming & with all the responsibility of the drama serial resting on his shoulders, ppl recognised TH's as Jerry's TH, no dispute in that.

yah, i also felt that jerry should be nominated for his role in the hospital....
maybe apple daily meant that the series was more recognised in japan....
i agree with usher that golden bell is sort of anti-idol artiste, but jerry has already proven that he is more than just an idol artiste in the hospital....
hope that the judges will change their impression of jerry in time to come....
