But maybe it's also a psychological thing, and people are just scaring
themselves. Interesting superstition though..

Note to self: Remember to bring nail cutter to school and do it at work in the future.
(Okay, better stop the sarcasm, right?)
But I don't think it's true since I'm a chicken myself but don't see anything happening since that's when I actually have time to do anything else.

and finally i asked my dad......and he said this:
"aaaagh dont listen to all that stupid old people sayings!.....they say dont cut your nails at night because long time ago, the only light they had during the night was to use candles, now candle light is not that bright....so if you tried to cut your nails with candle light during then you might cut yourself"
ahahah now that does make alot of sense but now we have light globes.....so i say just cut your nails lol
this saying is also they same with "dont open the umbrella in the house other wise a snake will come" what they actually mean is dont open the umbrella otherwise you might poke someone in the eye ahahah they just trying to scare the kids in olden days.

my grandma told me not to ever cut my finger nail at night is there a reason behind it?
Surely, it is supersitious, how can i make it during the day in the office ?
not to do at night, probably to avoid injury due to insufficient light, i think !

if that's true then i've probably seen millions of ghost already.
i often wake up in the middle of the night, and seeing my long finger nail and i cut them at like 2:00 in the morning, nothing happened to me so far. x]]

I've heard of this before and I think it has been brought down since our grandma/grandpa's age because of insufficient light at night and accidents happened I guess. Most people would have to cut their nails either in the evening or at night since everyone is busy with school and work, and hey, will the ghosts only visit 'Asians'? I doubt that the westerners were given the same advice by their parents.
I don't think it has got something to do with ghosts...right?

like all other say, its due to freak accidents due to the fact that during the olden days there were no nail cutters and big scissors used to cut cloth were used to cut your finger nails. guess what.. go try and test the sharpness of those type of scissors. And yes you guessed it... cut-off fingers were the results.

As for the reason, my mom said that if you do it you will have bad luck.
