The star of daily primetime series Maging Sino Ka Man (Book 2) may be too busy to have a life, so to speak, but he tries his best to live in peace, away from intrigues that have become the brunt of people in show business.

John Lloyd Cruz has had his share of bad press, while not denying the thing he got himself into in the past, he merely wants to move on, leave them behind in pages of yet to be written autobiography.

There is no denying that the guy is hell bent on becoming a reputable actor, both on television and in films. He still has had no chance to be so, even if his performances in his nightly series Maging Sino Ka Man is considered better than those of his peers, and critics found his turn in last year’s box-office hit One More Chance worthy of a best actor trophy,

John Lloyd is an artist in search of a medium that he may never find where he is now.

Yet, the actor is not complaining about what has been happening to him. In fact, he feels very lucky with everything that he had last year—a hit movie, a top-rating series, and a pile of product endorsements that made his pocketbook thicker than most of his friends in the business.

The year has just started for John Lloyd, yet his schedule is starting to be filled up.

Recently he finished a shoot for a new television commercial of Biogesic. Last year’s campaign made ingat a byword. This time, the reprise has added the phrase “nasaan ka man.”

The new TVC communicates the importance of confronting a headache at the very first instance of the attack.

“Simula pa lang ng headache, I-Biogesic na,” says John Lloyd.

A headache can get in the way of work and precious time spent with family. Arrest the attack at the outset is the key. This is precisely why John Lloyd is never without Biogesic.

Being one of the country’s most sought-after actors, as the cliché goes, John Lloyd is always on the go.

As human as everyone else in show business, he is not immune to sickness. “I was down with pneumonia several weeks ago. Too much work, I guess,” he told everyone who came for his Biogesic TVC press do. “I feel better now,” he said.

Most actors punish the minds and bodies with work, like John Lloyd who reports for taping sessions for Maging Sino Ka Man five days a week. Throw in rehearsals for spot numbers in ASAP on Saturdays, and the noontime show on Sundays, and he’s got an entire week of working. That’s even worse than a mason in a construction site.

He is also preparing for a forthcoming US tour next month, and will soon start work for a new movie for Star Cinema.

By having Biogesic with him at all times, John Lloyd is able to address pain before it makes his hectic schedule haywire.

Like a real endorser, John Lloyd admits to practicing what he preaches. On the eve of the day for the shoot of his latest TV commercial for Biogesic, John Lloyd was down with headache and fever. He was at that time taping an episode for his soap. He took Biogesic right away. The day of the shoot, John Lloyd arrived on time and feeling better.
