I've heard this a lot from people-is this true or is this a culturalistic stereotype?

Are most Chinese people raised to be conservative?

Are a lot of Chinese raised to be nurturing and to take care of thier husbands? Or is this a myth?

Depends what you considering the ideal wife. I think Asian women tend to have that stereotype of being very quiet and a doormat for men. Was that your meaning?

And really, obviously not everyone is going to be the same.

I want a woman who's Christian, and has the same interests as me and is relatable.

I want someone who has a good head for business and can help me support my career and wouldn't mind me helping to support hers.

I would treat my wife like a queen. :D

Muy bien! If you're as sweet and genuine as you seem, then you'll eventually find the right woman for you. And you seem to desire a Chinese wife so maybe visiting Chinatown as much as you can might help ;)

I never said that-I know that not all Chinese women are conservative.

I've seen pics of Chinese women in swimsuits and Chinese dancing vids.

Do you have any advice for meeting Chinese women?

Here is a clue. Asian girls from asia..... When asked what their hobby is 90% say:

1. Shopping!
2. Flower arranging

Where as in europe and america it can be .....

photography, art, archery .....

If you want an asian wife from asia get ready to spend a lot of money on her.

I'm not saying they are bad. Yay them. Its' just a different culture. Shopping is actually considered a hobby.

depends on what sort of wife you would like

chinese / taiwanese women do make good wives.. but only women around 30ish + mark

that age group has the perfect balance between being conservative but not too close minded at the same time..

anything too over.. will be too conservative.. usually..

most young women around 20ish mark in taiwan and china.. are not the same a decade ago.. the mixing of cultures across the borders are changing people

for me i find people my age, 20ish, f*ck around too much

wtf? women are like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get. The question here is are you going to make a good husband, dad, or friend.

It's rare to see good person + good person. It's more like ahole + nice person. or ahole with ahole.

I meant do they make ideal wives. I was told that a lot of them are raised to respect their men.

That a lot of them are raised traditionally, but does that generally apply to the OLDER generation Chinese?

I met an Asian women who told me that the reason Asian women are so popular is that they are raised to respect their men, and that they look cute. Is this true? Do Chinese women make good wives?

Don't alway believe the hype, that may be true in SOME cases. Sometime they play the innocent role but they are hell on wheels behind the mask.

Old traditions and really depends if the women is strong headed.

Being beat by their husband and still respecting him...i dont' think that's a smart idea, yet there are who do that.

Generation, you're more likely to find women who don't give a crap these days. Depends though where they grew up. Like for me, I'm 100% chinese born in the US, if the old people don't respect me, I wont respect them. Same with all people, that's how I was brought up. But I do maintain respect for people even if I don't know them, but if they break that, respect goes out the door entirely.

Respecting a guy doesn't = good wife necessiarly.

Anyways, don't always believe in what others tell you. There are alot more characteristics that make an ideal wife. Ideal wife is upon preference of what she does, but doesn't necessarily fit the "ideal" description for everyone. "Ideal" is for the eye of the beholder.

Seriously, race DOES NO MATTER!
It all depends on the personality of the female...
I know chinese women who make horrible wives/mothers.
Every woman has a equal chance of being a good or bad wife.

Here's a thought-if some Asian girls get annoyed 'cause they think blacks want learn a few terms and phrases in their native tongue to impress them with, why don't the girls learn some African languages to impress the guys with?

You are making ignorant racist generalizations- that's like saying and assuming there are no white or Hispanic women who don't like blacks.

I had two Chinese girlfriends in school.

How do you think BLASIANS got here?

See my previous pic.

I am working on a project_I'm interested in learning Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, etc.

Isn't language part of one's culture?

I knew some people who were half-Chinese and they didn't know a word of Chinese, even though their father was full Chinese and spoke it fluently.

The reason why most African-Americans don't speak any African languages is because language was something done away with in slavery times.

If I knew an African-American who could speak an African langauge I woud be impressed.

There are other things I can talk to an Asian chick about besides language- language tends to be a good icebreaker since I'm into learning it.

Is that the reason why you're so obsessed with Asian (Chinese specifically) girls?

No-I just like cute Asians.
