Mo Ching: Difficult to portray
Just when the three guys said Fung has it easy, where is the difficulty in sitting the whole way and use secret weapons? Fung immediately says, “In the series I have the most lines, so whenever I have time I need to learn the script, digest it first then it will sound more reasonable. Plus the wheelchair will limit body language, can only use words and eyes to act.”
Besides limiting his performance, it also caused Fung to be injured, “That chair is very hard and not very comfortable. When I need to move the wheel, my hands will be damaged by the wood. Even though I don’t have to fight, but there’re more talking scenes, everyday I am the first one to start work but also the last one to finish work.”

Ending: Love blossoms
The arrogant Mo Ching can never guess he would lose to “love” in the end, “He has been smart his whole life but is foolish for a moment. As he is very intelligent, he should have known Ji Yin (Kate) is working undercover, he just didn’t want to believe it. Because it was his first time being in love, doesn’t know how to control his emotions. Plus he has always been ashamed of himself because of his disability, his heart is quite fragile. Towards the end, the audience will see a soft side of Mo Ching. Besides falling out with Tit Sau (Metal Hand) because of Ji Yin, in the end he was reborn because of his adopted father Mr Ju Gok.”
Life Chaser: Crazily stretching
Sammul was called to be the Life Chaser, his character has lots to say and is streetwise, giving him a lot of room to create the character, “The Life Chaser is quite crazy, during every investigation he would pretend to be something, different to the other three constables. I will be more relaxed and playful, in this series I had 10 or so different costumes, very satisfying, the annoying thing is during a day I had to change makeups two or three times.”
Besides having different costumes, the Life Chaser is also very good at floating skills. For this Sammul worked hard on his legs, “before the series started filming I needed to be trained by the martial arts director for three weeks, didn’t get injured but it was quite difficult. Since I don’t have the habit of stretching, if I need to kick beautifully my joints need to be loose, every day I had to stretch against the wall quite hard, so hard I wanted to cry. Once the joints are loose we bought some punching bags to wear on the leg to practice kicking with more power. And also wearing them while running. Even though it was hard work, but when I take them off I discovered that I can fly.”
Ending: Fighting the bad guy
At the beginning, Life Chaser is already exchanging words with Mo Ching, and have issues with each other. Entering the finale, Mo Ching will fall out with the others because of Ji Yin. “In the end we will be fighting the bad guy like in video games, the bad guy is Choi Ging. The most unexpected was that he used Ji Yin to fight against us, causing the people in the police department to fight against each other. Fighting from the inside and outside, they have spectacular weapons, a large weapon which can fire secretly. On the surface we couldn’t win. But in the end of course the evil cannot win, everyone must watch the process, very exciting.”
Metal Hand: The peacemaker
The character Metal Hand is quite similar to Kenneth’s own personality, and has a balancing effect in the series, “Mo Ching is arrogant, Cold Blood is cool, Life Chaser is outgoing, comparatively, Metal Hand is the one with the least personality in the group. But no personality is his unique trait, he is more down to earth and friendly, would often be the peacemaker.”
Actually this is the first time Kenneth has used real kungfu in a series, “This is the first time in my career, before in “My master is Wong Fei Hung” the fighting is more like comedy, but this time it’s very challenging. Because I’m tall, every action needs to be stretched out to give the impression of being open. So when I use my fist it seems that it has more power. This time I’m not too happy with my performance, had to learn very quickly, hopefully next time when I film fighting scenes there will be improvements.”
Ending: Brotherly relationship
Unfortunately their brotherly relationship was facing breaking point, “the recent cases have revealed Metal Hand and Mo Ching both had difficult family backgrounds. Our biggest enemy is each other. The smart audiences will notice that during the beginning introduction, the two families were killing each other because of a misunderstanding. Metal Hand and Mo Ching are the descendants of the two families, added with the evil Ji Yin’s meddling, this added to our hatred. The ending will see how The Four rebuild their broken friendships, working together to fight the last battle. Showing their brotherly relationship, saving each other.”
Cold Blood: Man and Sword as one
Ron’s Cold Blood is emotionless, he usually only says one or two sentences, focusing on acting from within, need to understand the main point, “on the outside Cold Blood is like a caveman, actually beneath the surface he has emotions, so Ling Siu Doh likes him, he would reject her. Because he knows deep down he cannot give happiness to her, this is the closeness of Cold Blood.”
Cold Blood doesn’t have much to say, so he needs to use his body to show his emotions. Ron used his experience in fight scenes, “when I first entered the industry I used my dancing background for fight scenes. Comparing to “Find the Light”’s heavy sword which was almost unmoveable, his time the sword is lighter, but every time I use the sword there will be damage. If you see the sword as a part of your body, then you will use it smoothly.”
Ending: Four become one
Cold Blood will think the other three have betrayed him and intending to kill him, so he hid in the mountains. In the end he also caused injury to Ju Gok Jing Ngor, causing him to change. “Cold Blood is no longer cold blooded, he discovered that there is warmth, friendships and love in this world. Actually Ju Gok touched his heart, uniting the four to have the same goal to investigate cases. Putting the four together as a person: brains, weapon, sword skills, fist skills, leg skills, good in every area, and Ju Gok is the commander, teaching them how to live, causing the four to grow up.”
Juding the four
The four guys entered the entertainment industry around the same time, they have worked with each other on separate occasions. This time they have the rare opportunity to work together, of course we need to ask them to share their happy moments.
Lam Fung: Chose the right person
Fung gave huge praises to producer Lam Chi Wah for putting together this great combination, “We entered the industry at around the same time, privately we know each other well, so we have an established understanding. Plus everyone’s character matches with their own personality, the producer really picked the right people this time. So the whole filming process was enjoying. Besides this, I’m very happy to meet Dominic Lam. I watched his series all the time when I was young, I think he’s very cool and serious. But after I met him I discovered he was the one who talked the most, while working he’s like a radio show host, a very fun older generation actor.”
Speaking of Sammul: “Very familiar with Sammul la, this time he has quite a big breakthrough, very rare to see such a playful character. Plus it is the first time I’ve seen him on a wire so much, because in the series his running skills is very good, admire him for his hard work.”
Speaking of Kenneth:“Even though I’ve worked with Kenneth many times, we didn’t have many scenes together. Comparing the three, he is more easygoing, usually don’t speak a lot, but this time we really get to know each other. We kept laughing, talking, we successfully opened Kenneth’s mouth.”
Speaking of Ron: “This time I don’t have many scenes with Ron, plus he doesn’t have a lot of lines haha. I think Cold Blood is quite suitable for his cool image. When he walks out he is immediately Cold Blood. His fight scenes are hard work, that sword is very heavy, difficult to use freely, but the end result is very good.”
Ron: not missing out

Actually we have a good relationship already, so they asked us to film “Twin of Brothers”, portraying twin brothers. Because the characters are quite the opposite of our real personalities, we need to imitate each other, so we know each other very well.”
