Idol Edison Chen who made an surprise to the whole of Asia because of the leaked photos appeared yesterday night in Singapore. He said to the media that he is preparing to film his own movie in around one/two years.
He admitted that he is gong to prepare to film his own movie, but towards what the media guessed about him taking this opportunity from the Singapore endorsement activity to return to the Entertainment industry, Edison still emphasizes that he still isn't certain that he is prepared to return.
Yesterday Edison arrived at Singapore. Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan reporters were waiting for his arrival in the hotel Grand Hyatt where he is staying at. But, when Edison was receiving the joint interviews, he rejected Hong Kong and Taiwan reporters to go into the area; and originally he planned to receive a half an hour interview but it was cut down to 6 minutes and all the answers he gave were in english.
Edison claimed that throughout this one year and a half he has been training and becoming more intelligent, every week he would exercise 6 times and would read a lot of books including Shakespeare.
He also said that last year during the summer he attended a filmmaking course, hoping that in the future he would be able to film his own movie.
Edison points out that alot of things happened last year, and it wasn't easy to pass, he has tried to find himself again and to self-criticise what wrong-doings he has done in the past.
Yesterday night Edison attended an endorsement activity from Carl's Jr Hamburger fast food business in the Grand Hyatt hotel, afterwards he also attended the Adidas Orginals 60th anniversary party.
The Grand Hyatt hotel hired 10+ security guards for Edison, they made a wall around the outside of the hotel, stopping all media from going in, some photo journalists fell down from pushing through the crowds.
Even though the news reports had already said that the endorsement activities that Edison is attending is for free, because he will be donating all his fees to charity. But it was also revealed that Edison received $30 thousand Singapore dollars for attending the Adidas activity for [Friendship fees].
But Edison emphasizes that he will give all the fees he's receiving from the projects in Singapore, to Jet Li's established charity "One foundation". The Hong Kong media reporters have been chasing Edison non-stop during the time he's been in Singapore. Edison's expression is displeased and has been ignoring all the questions asked by the Hong Kong reporters.

Didn't he say "Hong Kong" and not "Asian" as an overall?
[oldspoiler]And I'm not a fan but I remember hearing something like "HK" during his apology clip. I could be wrong and just wondering, that's all. (Not picking a fight or anything. Peace!)[/oldspoiler]

He probably exaggerated a bit, but I do believe he is maturing.
Hopefully, people will be able to forgive and forget and learn to be mature,
just as Edison is starting to also.
I miss Edison and his rebellious style, so work hard, Eddie!

and he's pretty much living his words by avoiding all the hk reporters and cutting down his interviews to only 6 minutes, doing everything in english to prevent bringing back hk's canto.
do hope that he'll still go back to hk though, if gillian and ceci can comeback, he should be allowed too. they were all willing parties in the scandal.

No, he actually said he will be away from Hong Kong entertainment indefinitely. Glad that he is maturing, hope to see a better Edison Chen after two years.

I am not a fan of Edison but I did read a bit of the whole saga and I think he said he would quit the entertainment industry, HK or Asian, "INDEFINITELY".
INDEFINITELY = no fixed time; no specific time
And I see some people 'can't imagine' Edison reading Shakespeare - Are Shakespeare's books only read by a certain people? Who could they be? I am curious

I was a fan of Edison but not he has mess with so many lives. I wont support someone like that who has a problem and is not even trying to get help. The guy right now is a loser..He thinks running from it will fix him up..Sorry its not going to happen..Plus I miss the Twins.. Just my two cents.

He said "Hong Kong", not Asian. (I checked again, lol. Or I could be hearing it wrong again considering how late I'm staying up.)

The key person in the Hong Kong celebrities' sex photos scandal, Edison Chen, was invited to Singapore by an international corporation to grace a product launch. In an exclusive interview with MediaCorp News, Chen revealed that he has no plans to return to the screen at the moment. He wished to engage in charity work for now and spend more time on self-reflection, in search of the real "Edison Chen".
Chen said the leak of the photos has given him time to slow down his pace in life and reflect on what he did in the past. He wished to face the world with a brand new self.
"I think everyone has made mistakes. I hope to be an example to the public. When you have done wrong, it does not represent an ending. I hope to work harder and mature, be myself and do a good job," he said.
He revealed his plans to be a film maker and has even started attending filmmaking courses. He hoped to return to showbiz as a film producer instead of an actor.
"I think I'm not prepared yet. I hope to make movies and express my thoughts through films. So I hope I can make a movie of my own in this year or the next."
Besides that, Chen is also passionate about charity work. He said he had taken part in several charity events now and will also donate the entire fees he collected this time round to the charity foundation Jet Li set up.
On the same day in Hong Kong, Cecilia Cheung, one of the female stars involved in the scandal, took on an interview on a talk show and broke her silence on the incident for the first time after a year. She called Chen a liar and that his apology was insincere.
In Singapore, Chen was asked to comment about Cheung's remarks and he said, "The whole incident was my wrongdoing. I can understand her stress. If she can reduce her sufferings by scolding me, I am willing to take on more blame."
