Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? is a komiks novel serialized in the pages of Pilipino Komiks in 1987. It was written by Gilda Olvidado and illustrated by Louie Celerio.
Viva Films produced a movie adaptation in 1984 that marked the onscreen reunion of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion. The film was directed by Emmanuel Borlaza and it received two citations from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences for Best Actress and Best Theme Song.
Plot:
The story revolves around the lovers Myrna and Lito, who decided to elope and marry at a young age. Immature and unprepared for married life, their relationship slowly crumbled until Lito had an illicit relationship with an older woman. Lito leaves Myrna alone and pregnant, and Myrna was forced to look after herself and her child.
Sine Novela:
Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin is an upcoming Philippine drama on GMA Network. The first star role of Starstruck's Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal.[1] This is a remake of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion movie on late 80's.
Plot
Myrna and Lito plunge into marriage at a very young age. Both unprepared and still immature. But their relationship suddenly collapses when Lito gets into an illicit relationship with an older woman, Glacilda. Leaving Myrna alone and pregnant. But still, Myrna remained strong and moved on with her life..

Kris and Aljur’s love team started in the teeny-bopper program Boys Nxt Door. It continued in the primetime series Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, Dyesebel and Luna Mystika. They are also one of the featured pairs in the Regal movie “Loving You.”
The Sine Novela marks their first leading role together as a love team. Both Aljur and Kris now feel the pressure because this is their biggest break on the kapuso network. Furthermore, GMA’s Sine Novela’s are consistent top-raters not just in Mega Manila, but now nationwide as well.

There’s a brand new loveteam to watch out for in GMA-7!
While many are clamoring for fresh faces and brand-new love teams to hit the big league on GMA-7’s landscape, the team-up of young talents Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal are slowly but surely making its mark.
Their afternoon drama series “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” that made its pilot episode last month has established a landmark achievement already in the ratings game.
“Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” broke records in GMA-7’s daytime drama ratings, much to the delight of everyone in the show. It has edged over its rival show on ABS-CBN “La Traicion” for quite sometime now and has scored high marks in the last two days of March and the first day of this month, giving the artists and production team so much encouragement and inspiration.
April 1’s all-time high rating of “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” was charted at 29.9 as against 8.1 of ABS-CBN’s “La Traicion.” This, however, was a landmark rating for the Aljur-starrer as it automatically inevitably pits their partnership with other loveteams, considering that “Tayong Dalawa” (a favorite to many in ABS-CBN) charted only 25.5 on that day.
On March 30 and 31, “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin” charted 25.3 and 26.7 rating as against the other network’s 7.9 and 5.9 ratings, respectively.
No wonder, a lot are glued on their screens to find out what transpires in the fast-paced story day after day. Last April 2’s episode was where Lito (Aljur) pleaded with Myrna (Kris) to take him back after she found out he slept with Glacilda (Ara Mina).
The televiewer’s are surely watching out if Myrna’s heart will soften again for the man she loves and accept him back despite all his setbacks. And for that matter, whether Lito will truly change for the better
