The 60th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen happened on December 31st at NHK Hall in Tokyo's Shibuya. Appearing for the first time, Arashi performed the year's biggest hit Believe as part of their four-song medley. In the midst of the performance, Ninomiya Kazunari (26) shouted out "Kohaku cho tanoshii!" (Kohaku is super fun!). Matsumoto Jun (26) rushed over to the guest panel and shook hands with the judges, including Mori Mitsuko (89), Yokozuna・Hakuho (24), and exchanged a 'good touch' with Yomiuri Giant's manager Hara Tatsunori (51).

After the performance, Arashi received a shout out from a male audience member who yelled "Arashi, Kohaku arigatou!" Leader Ohno Satoshi (29) promised "We'll continue to work hard next year to carry over this good feeling." Ninomiya also said, "We'll return to this place next year," promising to make a consecutive appearance at Kohaku.

i saw the performance. that's cool, they really know how to entertain the audience (and the judges). LOL!
i like the part when they were engulfed with smoke, then suddenly their red outfits changed to white. wah, so fast!
so nice they got to sing a lot of songs, and they were appearing every now and then at Kohaku. looks like the program want to get the most of their attendance.
but they rushed to Tokyo Dome after for Johnnys countdown, glad they made it!

yes it's a contest where artists are divided into red (female) team and white (male) team. This year white team won again! i think they have been on a winning streak for a few years now.

weeeeee i love arashi's performance. how they were able to change so fast from their pink suits to their white suits amazed me. I was also touched during the interview part after their performance, a MALE audience shouted to them like thank you for guesting at kohaku or thanks for their performance?! and all of them paused to listen to it and arashi members bowed down and said their thanks or something. and lol yeah they keep on coming up the stage throughout the broadcast! NHK must have thought of maximizing arashi's presence for the ratings or something. hehe

i think (this is just my guess) they've worn their white costume inside their pink ones coz they looked stuff in the first 3 songs! wahahahaha then they just removed their easy-to-remove pink pants and top and just added the white jacket during the time when they were engulfed with smoke. there are holes in the stage so that's where they probably thrown their pink suits and the staff inside probably handed them their white jackets. but still i'm amazed at how quick they changed their outfit.

hi fritzie_03! no problem. i've never watched the whole kohaku on tv even before coz sometimes i get bored. hahahaha but i kinda enjoyed last night although i didn't watch the whole thing. after arashi performed, i was already busy preparing for the JCD. lolz but i still ended up watching the first 5 min coz i keep getting disconnected in keyhole.

ahhhh..souka souka..now that you've said it, it's highly likely to be the case..but still, it was awesome of them to do that flawlessly in such short time ne?? it really feels like magic..

thanks for the vid again! it would have been more awesome if the camera panned unto that male audience for us to see..xD

Thanks cassy for posting the videos! I was very surprised as well by their quick costume change. At first I was like...they're wearing pink!?? I was happy when they reemerged from the cloud of smoke into their white suits. Much more handsome.

but wasn't JCD amazing!?! I was cringing the entire time when Arashi was singing Kanjani's song. They were soooo dorky! Especially when the camera zoomed in on Sho's face at the start. Plus, I've never heard One Love so horribly butchered like that in my life.
So impressed they made it from Kohaku on time for countdown!

i know! even if they wore both costumes with the white one inside, the transition is still so fast for me to be amazed! and they haven't started stripping till the end of happiness coz when they were singing the part "yeah yeah yeah" i would've thought aiba would start stripping but when i looked carefully through the smoke, he's still dancing.

spot on with that comment of yours about arashi being more handsome in white! i swear, the first time i saw it on tv when they emerged in that smoke wearing white, i was thinking how the hell did they change so fast, that's impossible that i even went on to thinking that maybe the smoke made their suits white?! then i thought, it's probably my brain that's been affected by the smoke!

a;ltiunvajsloiqwoemvrq that JCD (although i prefer last year's JCD lolz coz of arashi songs being performed i guess but i enjoyed this year's JCD too) !!!! Arashi singing a kanjani8 song and kanjani8 singing an arashi song are just adorable even if kanjani8 started with their timing off probably because of the live feed since they are in Osaka while the rest of the Johnnys groups (except tackey and tsubasa) are in tokyo dome.). and OMG!!!! kattun singing a news song is like kyaaaaa for me too! and seeing Toma there is a plus!

speaking of K8 and Arashi! here's the clip of them performing each other's songs! wahahahaha. and lolz! Arashi wearing their AAA2007 costume where they sang carnival night-kitto daijoubu-love so sweet and concert MC (don't know if i got it right)

I enjoyed Arashi's performance very much! But there is one thing that keep bugging me, how did they manage to change their outfits from pink to white outfits?! 0_0
