Arashi's Sakurai Sho - Reprising Role as Olympics Caster Following the Beijing Olympics
Source: Mainichi Japan
Translated by: sparkles_n15 @ asianfanatics.net

NTV announced on the 10th the list of casters that will represent the station at the Vancouver Olympics, set to start on February 12th (13th Japan time to account for the time difference).

The main caster will be Arakawa Shizuka, gold medalist at the Torino Olympic Games for figure skating. The special caster will be Arashi's Sakurai Sho. Sakurai will be reprising his caster duties following the 2008's Beijing Olympics. "To be able to witness such a moment in history, it will always be something I'll hold close to heart," recalls Sakurai. There's lots to be enthusiastic about in Vancouver as well. "I'd like to report the 'crystals of athletes' thoughts' like snow shining in the sky in Vancouver," said Sakurai. As well, Ogiwara Tsugiharu, who competed at the 1998 Olympics Games held in Nagano, will be taking on the caster role for the third time.

I don't know about that...it's still a mystery! I don't know what 'Special Caster' means.
Sho does sound rather poetic about the snow/crystals ne? I had to ask my sensei what that meant!

so it's not really clear yet if he'll come to Vancouver? though i have a feeling he'll be coming..:P and it would be awesome if he brings in the other 4 dorks..xD
but if it isn't possible, he could always just buy some omiyage for them like what he did during his Beijing olympics coverage...xD

tehehehe..yeap, it is! cute deshou?? very fitting that there was also 5 of them.. ^_^
they performed "Truth" in that episode of Music Station..
that was during last part of the episode, you know, where they were asked their thoughts on tonight's episode blah blah blah..then Sho-chan mentioned that he had to fly back to Beijing after that..and of course, mentioned the omiyage he brought back for the other 4..i think he also joked about it being "mendokusai" - troublesome? LOL

and they were each wearing headbands with their official color! except for jun coz he's wearing the green and black one and not violet as his color should be. but then again, the olympic colors doesn't have violet but black. haha

oh so it's at the end of the show where they wore those?

so Sho had to leave and go back to beijing after the perf! oh wait no wonder! coz i was thinking about the date of the show according to the index of live arashi performances (which got a corresponding video to download) was august 15, 2008 which is right in the middle of the olympics.

those headbands are so cute! i saw lots of olympic stuff but i didn't see those when i was there. but then again that was 4 mos before the olympics so maybe they got in right before the games.
