None of the artists from East Asia and EEG attended. They boycotted the show.

Actually, Miriam received one award for outstanding singer.
The article didn't list all the winners of the Outstanding Singer Award in which RTHK announced beforehand, which included:
G.E.M. / Joey Yung / Miriam Yeung / Janice Vidal / Kay Tse / Mr. / Khalil Fong / Leo Ku / Hacken Lee / Hins Cheung / Jason Chan / Eason Chan

RTHK never really, if any, supported Denise despite her success.

The music scene's third report card, RTHK's 33th Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Music Awards Presentation was held last night. As EEG and East Asia boycotted, their singers did not attend, but RTHK still presented the awards to them. TVB also refused to broadcast the show. The big winner of the night was Eason Chan, he swept 7 awards all in one night. For the female singers, Joey Yung, Sammi Cheng and Kay Tse were tied with 3 awards. However, Joey and Sammi did not attend. On the contrary, Miriam Yeung didn't even get the Top 10 Gold Songs award.

Eason was on stage accepting his awards for the majority of the show, no wonder he joked: "I hope we all aren't getting bored." Eason laughed and said that he's been walking very slow on stage this evening, so he can see clearly how many singers are supporting him via eye contact. He said: "This type of music scene is unusually rare, I will continue to work hard and hope the music scene will have 100 flowers blooming together. Just like Anita Mui once told me, it is most important for a singer to be worthy of music fans." Hacken won the "Gold Song" award depended on his song Sinner, he said emotionally: "In last few years, the HK music scene has been going through a series of wind and rain, but singers can't do much, just can work on singing their songs well and pay back their supporting fans. Encourage each Hong Kong singer."

RTHK implies TVB released the news

DJ Lo Kai Sang was on stage bashing the other electronic medias, directly saying that this year RTHK's gossips is definitely "3-3 incomplete, 6-6 endless" He ridiculed the two big companies (EEG/East Asia) not taking part in the RTHK music awards, and implied TVB 'released the news' on them not broadcasting the show. He said: "TVB not broadcasting the show, our radio station keeps things very confidential, I also found out through the newspapers. I just saw Big 2 and TVB having breakfast by the peninsula. I have never seen a RTHK employee at the peninsula eating. TVB has the Big 2, but not Big 4. RTHK has Big 4, but not Big 2. Actually it's fine if we all broadcast on the same day!" At the show, it was seen that there were only several hundred seats, and fans are not allowed in. They were just allowed to stand outside to support their idols. As for the absent singers, RTHK played their MVs in replace of the live performance.

Congrats to Sammi!! I am glad she is regaining her popularity again in the music industry. I am happy for all the winners, but sad for Miriam not placing in the top 10.
