Being an artist doesn’t mean that you will definitely like to spend money, at least not Rainie Yang. Wearing on Maison Martin Margiela (MMM)’s outfits, she likes the 2-in-1 grey top, she says, “This is really pretty, but it might be a little out of budget.” So this is how she curbs herself from spending, taking every piece of product and giving a base price, if it’s out of her budget she will not buy. She says, “I’m not someone who calculates a lot, but I really don’t have the capability to squander.”

When she was named “Cutie princess”, she shows off her cute spirit on television. Little do we expect that in reality, she does not like pink or red products, from young she also never attempted to dress like a princess. She says, “I don’t dare to dress to brightly, only during the junior school years did I dress in bright colours, I would wear yellow or red pants, but after that I started to dim down.” She laughs saying that this does not mean that she has a dark nature, it’s just her personal preference. Since young during colouring lessons, she don’t like to choose bright colour pencils, only choosing black, grey or coffee brown and other colours. MMM compares mixing clothes like the game, making clothes full of character. For example having a difference in length for the front and the back, and even taking the winter clothings for experiment, making the whole visual effect full of interest. For these shirts, one would need at least NT$25,600. The special designs made Rainie tempted to buy, but because of the price she is having the doubts, she says, “I have a basic rule while buying things, what material and what price, or what stuffs and its price, for example a bag which cost more than NT$65,000 I would not buy, and this shirt is out of my budget.” A very practical cutie princess, a little closer to our daily lives which makes her even more adorable.

Thank you for the hard work on part 9. Really tired from work, so I'll delve into translations and will give a better congratulation later.

First for Canandiangirl who always wonder what Rainie has planned: She is planning to visit a planetarium science museum in Taipei to ride this "Explore The Universe Ride/Coaster" on 9/15 at 2PM. There will probably be singing performance(s) involved.

Question One. 0:04: Rainie, that part of your body you are most proud of is?
I believe it is my abdomen /belly because I am a girl with muscles down there. That is why people may have realized that I often reveal my waist/belly when my performances require some [degree of] revealing my figure.

Question Two: 00:28: What exercises would you perform to maintain and/or improve your figure?
Well the easiest would be exercises done on the bed, since I am always so busy. I would take time to perform sit-ups, or suspend my legs, pretending that I am cycling. Also, since my job would sometimes require dancing, that is also a great exercise for me. I purchased a bicycle last year, so when I am really free, I would bike randomly around my neighborhood.

Question Three: 1:04: What would you consider to be an appropriate autumn/winter exercise, Rainie?
Since its not so scorching hot, outdoor activities like biking would be fitting. Or, you can go hiking. Nowadays, it is also a trend for people to go to sports centers, where there would be indoor activities like Yoga or rock climbing. These are all interesting physical activities in mine opinion. As for me, the best exercise during these seasons is biking, since you can cover yourself and no one will recognize you.

Question Four: 1:46: What recommendations do you have for women who would like to maintain their health and physical endurance during autumn and winter?
I actually have to be careful myself around these times, since its very easy to over eat and indulge yourself in, for example, [Chinese] hotpot where there would be a lot of soup. While this is unavoidable, you should perform the appropriate amount of exercise after eating and resting. But after exercising, you will get the urge to eat again as you feel hungry. People believe its normal to eat again and not feel guilty [under such circumstances], but this is where you will fall into a trap. So you must resist the urge or you will not only regain what you ate [before exercising], but also accumulate fat from what you had thereafter. I think the best solution, for me at least, is to resist the urges and eat more for breakfast the next day.

Question Five 2:42: Could you share with us some interesting things you have encountered when you normally exercise?
I have shared with the media and friends that I prefer not wearing clothes while exercising at home. ( :blink:

) When doing sit ups on my bed, my dog would join in on the fun and even lick my calves, making me feel violated. It feels interesting. Besides this, I have ridden bikes………well its not a professional bike, so I would not fully equip myself with helmets and biking outfits. I would cover myself, sometimes to the point of heat exhaustion. Lastly, I use to cover my mouth with a surgical mask, but it obstructed my vision and its something I had to be mindful of. So I may not do so next time, as long as you people only say hi to me if you run into me biking.

Question Six 3:43: What recommendations do you have for fitness wear/sports wear?
I believe many people think that effective sportswear must look very ugly. Since Adidas has always placed emphasis on style and effectiveness, I believe people do not have to worry about something that is only effective, but not stylish or hip. Its more and more stylish today to mix up, say, a t-shirt or tank-top with sports pants, that would still be stylish. One could pair something revealing like [the blue shirt Rainie is wearing] with jeans, and could still wear heels to be feminine, so people won’t call you a little girl. I believe women are pursing more stylish looks, so we recommend the aforementioned combinations for both effective workouts and stylish looks.

Question Seven 4:50: Do you like the new products for this season?
Extremely, because the “Clima” series focus mainly on coziness. I believe [Adidas is] very different this time because our autumn and winter lineup is no longer focused on purple. We have become more like spring and summer, with colors that vary from yellow, to grass green, to aqua blue. What I am wearing is a very bright color that will allow you to feel as if your skin is not very dark, whether you are light or dark skinned. People during autumn and winter also have the dilemma of wearing too little or too much, and feel too cold or too hot accordingly. However, “Clima” uses a material called “Clima Cool” to let you exercise during these two seasons feeling warm, while not overly hot. I feel it’s the best of both worlds, and quite awesome.

Question Eight 5:51: As the continuous spokesperson for the Adidas brand all these years, have you gained a more profound knowledge in exercising?
I believe the Adidas concept has always been from the start that nothing is impossible. Exercising feels like this, where you can be more focused. You can allow your troubles and frustrations to flow away with your sweat. Exercise allows you to become more confident and stable minded, and [it] improves your figure. It is a great leisure activity.

Question Nine 6:26: Discuss your thoughts on the photo shoot today.
The ideas during each of these shoots are a focused attitude and being natural. This particular shoot is also different because I use to have long hair, which gets bound. This is my first time endorsing Adidas in short hair and presenting [their products]. I have also been paired this time with a dance instructor, as if we are practicing dancing. It feels more realistic. The filming today was difficult because we have had to shoot indoors and outdoors, but I still enjoyed the process. I usually have little time to exercise, so today’s work was like a chance-relaxation-session for me [to unwind].

Wow there was a lot of her news today.

The basic summary is her riding the Universe Exploration Ride at that Taipei Planetarium, reports about her missed opportunity to go on a trip to South Korea back in school, while Xiao Gui and Tiffany Xu both were able to go, and the year before last year's trip to a Disney World. Rainie initially tried to act cool and said she'll only take pictures for her friends, but once inside Disney World, it brought out the child within her and she started going crazy. Even bought a butterfly shaped.......some kind of hair clamp.
***I said "a" because it didn't specify if she want to the one in Hong Kong, Tokyo, or possibly one of the two in the U.S.. Be back over the weekend with more detailed translations of these events, since its all accumulated on Sony Music Taiwan.***

And I'll conclude with a very short Appledaily story, where the reporter called Ah Xia wrote if Rainie fears her future boyfriend will cheat on her, she can hand it over to Apple, who will follow and shoot with effective results superior to a private investigation firm. btw, Rainie is right in the Adidas interview; it is very comfortable when working out without clothes. Very breezy when you're just wearing a sport bra and shorts Ahh, I love Adidas' clothing, most of my sport wear is from that company. I will say I can attempt. Since its an attempt to promote SA I'll put aside some of my other translation work (well not entirely). Then based on how well I can actually do one BTS, then I'll see if I am qualified to do the rest. I will try to start with the most recent one for the most recent episode.

I agree with you; I also don't believe some others (not all, just some) reading this thread can't understand spoken Chinese and/or read the characters, and mine is not even good compared to people from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.

Riding Exploring the Universe coaster not only increases everyone’s knowledge of the sun, black holes, and other astrological phenomenon, but also, in the process of learning astronomy, allows people to understand that exploring the cosmos will no longer be a dream in the future, instead there will be space tour programs for the masses. Rainie’s Longing For album is quite consistent with the planetarium’s theme of viewing the starry skies. Therefore, [the planetarium] expressed great pleasure and welcomed the opportunity to host such a worthwhile event like this [Longing For] exploration of the universe. Rainie’s [Longing For] album has crowned her the top selling female artist for the first half of this year.

Rainie arrived at the planetarium today, especially to ride [the coaster] with fans. During high school days, due to having debuted in order to earn money and provide for her family, she was unable to attend an extra curricular activity trip to South Korea organized by the school due to the need to film a drama. [Her] “Ma Ji” good friends like Tiffany Xu and Xiao Gui were, however, able to attend. When the two shared interesting stories of time in South Korea upon return, Rainie was unable to follow their conversation. This left Rainie a small amount of regret in her heart. Therefore, [she] would often admire her schoolmates being able to attend related extra curricular activities, because one could be with other students in a fun-filled environment, and learned together by means of fun and knowledge. The is the most epic learning outside of school. Rainie today, with a student’s state of mind, rode the planetarium’s [Explore The Universe Coaster] with fans, so as to experience mysteries of the universe. Despite being a short ten minute journey, it felt like entering the large universe garden. The feeling was like a return to one’s student years. [Everyone’s] mutual Longing For the starry heavens all have various meaning. The filial Rainie would also like to bring her mother, old sister, and little nephew, as well as other friends and relatives to the planetarium, and experience the journey to [Explore The Universe].

Rainie brought a 130 cm poster of herself to donate to the planetarium, and even autographed the specific Explore the Universe coaster car she rode in. So within the next three months, if you ride the planetarium’s [Explore The Universe Coaster], you have the opportunity to possibly witness her autograph and even ride in the car that Rainie rode in. Lastly, Rainie also urged the public to come often to the planetarium for a chance [to experience] Journey to Explore the Universe, to Long For the starry heavens together, and become acquainted with the universe. [Rainie] hopes that everyone can experience the fun in learning while enjoying themselves. [This event for] Rainie has a feeling of returning to [her] school years throughout the process. Upon the exploration coaster’s introduction of aliens, [Rainie] felt as if she entered a mysterious world.

Rainie remembered about her trip to Disney World the year before last year. Considering herself a practical lady who does not like cute or dreamy things, she said back then to friends that they can play, she would only take photos for them. But once inside Disney World, her inner child mentality surfaced, and immediately she purchased a butterfly hair clip to wear. Rainie smiled and said [Perhaps my childhood years were too monotonous, so this was an attempt to makeup for it.] Although Rainie was close to her older sister, she was ditched in high school as her older sister began dating. From childhood years, [Rainie] started managing her career by learning dancing and singing, and was unable to participate in many extra curricular activities.

With a small amount of knowledge in the constellations, a person’s zodiac has become one of the factors [if and when] Rainie chooses a spouse. Many of [her] friends in the industry are Leos, including Show Luo, Wilber Pan, and Tiffany Xu. Of course, Rainie is also quite afraid of women belonging to another particular zodiac, as she believes meeting them will lead to misfortune. Assuming Rainie and her mom live in condo styled housing, the families that have units adjacent to Rainie's gotta be the luckiest families in the world, able to meet our goddess regularly.

Neighbor Wang: "Hey, Rainie (or Ms. Yang), taking out the trash huh? How was dinner? Congrats on the amazing job you did on the last episode of Love You and, btw, my little sisters loved the autographed albums you signed for me. Saved them from having to travel to your event in Kaohsiung, since they missed Taipei. Thanks alot again."

I am not disappointed that Rainie didn't get nominated. She already won a Golden Bell. I personally feel that comparing Lin, Xiaoru and Chen, Baozhu, I believe the later is definitely not your typical, average girl-idol drama character. Baozhu Jie is a more complicated character that has a whole range of personalities and/or emotions Rainie needed to pull off, and I was glad the award committee members saw that, and awarded Rainie accordingly. Xiaoru was just not as difficult to play IMO.

Also the Liberty Times article of 2011/09/18, scanned onto her FB page, is an interesting read. Interesting how that article was scanned with particular clarity and much more readable than the ones posted about Rainie not getting nominated. :tricky:

As I predicted, Rainie would not be nominated for the role in DTLY. She didn't play that role to the best and there are many scenes are too fake. Just like Show said, Rainie cries so well in DTLY but the crying is the same as in HMS. Did Joseph get nominated? He would have a challenge in wining the award unless there is no strong competitors. I sure hope the director didn't even get anything too. He did a bad job.
I think Rainie can go really far in acting career since she can do it, but I hope she would forget about herself when acting, otherwise, she can't play the characters but she acts as herself instead.
Do we have any news that who will act with Rainie in next TV series?

'there have been a few scenes where it is a lil but that's drama
too tragic wont be good for u too

So not getting nominated is a good thing as well as i am sure media and other artistes fans are gonna scold her insult her and shoot her expletives towards her like crazy if she get nominated

She chose Joseph over Wilber for the best leading male award. Course she would stand on her recent co-star's side, even though she's very close friends with Wilber. I don't have any opinions as for who's going to win since I didn't watch any of the dramas that were nominated. So can't be bias... I was glad the DLTY team got into various categories clapclap

I think Rainie did an outstanding job in the drama though.. pity she didn't get nominated ): I was very pleased with the two characters overall.
Is there a rule that one can't be in the next round to compete if they won the previous year? I know she got nominated in 08 then 2010, she won. Help please?

I don't think there's an actual real "rule." It's just formality that the previous year's winner doesn't win the following year. Similar to how it seems the male and female winners can't be from the same series (like how everyone expected Show to win last year, but he didn't.) However, being nominated shouldn't have any "formalities" because there have been artists that are nominated year after year (like Show was nominated in both 2009 and 2010.)

However, since Rainie won last year, I'm not sure about how that would affect her chances of being nominated this year, though. Haha. Sorry, I don't think I actually answered your question...

To other Joseph's fans even this is Rainie thread, I don't dislike Joseph and I even like him since LOS but I don't have so good impression about his acting in DTLY through out the whole TV series, probably the first few eps. And also, I have no idols. Even Rainie is not my idol either despite of she is the only TW/Asian actress I like.

I like Rainie's earings. It is very creative. I like the white one too. I think she really promotes new trend for earings, the big and long ones but fancy that are in trend now are not so special but the fur ones are cool.

I saw the news Rainie said she wants to accompany Joseph to the GBA. Wonder what the 2 would wear and hope Joseph would take her too. Just want to see how Rainie dresses up again for GBA. May be she will sing in GBA this time? Her song in DTLY is GOOOD.

Rainie is still too young and she can act, sing, etc... so GBA is not the only target for Rainie. Didn't know much about singers in TW but do you think Rainie would have highly chance to get in Golden Melody or something like that?

I too love her trendy earrings. I still want to get the ones from Devil Beside You, but I'm not sure where and if they still have them in stocks. I'm excited to see what she's going to wear to the event(s) hopefully it's not disappointing, although she can pull off basically anything. The red arm attachment for her GBA 2010 wasn't so appealing ^_^*

I don't know about you all, but I so miss her old long locks. I get so giddy seeing her old pictures, and all the wonderful styles she can do with it. Sigh!
