Now that Him and Mandy both like each other, a bigger thumbs up for more scenes between them in these next five episodes. But I have a feeling they aren't going to be happy ones. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Y NO HIM&MANDY SCENES?!?!

I was shocked in Ep 11 when Liza tells her grandson that he was the reason his mom (Liza'd daughter) killed her. That is the most terrible thing you can ever say to a child..especially when it's their own parent.

I love Him's scenes with Michel. The kid is mad cute and he has a good relationship with his uncle.

Exactly! I'm pretty much only watching the series because of Him and Mandy as well (though I also like Goo Ming Wah's character as well as Lee Sing Cheong's and also the little kid Michel -- that kid can act!!!)..if they aren't in any of the scenes, then I pretty much have to forward through the entire episode!

Oh, the other character I like alot is King Sir's character Uncle Man -- his "eccentric playwright" character always manages to crack me up when he appears on screen, even though his character was not meant to be funny at all! I love all the various artistic references that his character brings up (i.e. the references to Shakespeare; the mocking of the statement "this story is completely made up, any similiarites are completely coincidental", which is part of the opening credits for every single TVB series; the 'similarity' of the characters in Uncle Man's script to real life, etc.) -- makes the series more interesting!

Pretty much right now I'm only watching the scenes that have the people I listed above -- everything else I've been basically been forwarding...

^ me too. i mostly only tune in and pay attention when him and mandy appear together.
i too like the characters portrayed by lee sing cheong, the kid (wow, his crying scene last night was sooo convincing that i suspect the director may have said/done something to make him sob like that) and king sir. also like the boys who work under lee sing cheong. but that's about it. eliza is cute, but her character and romance with chin ka lok aren't interesting enough to hold my attention. and i just want to turn off the tv whenever liza jie appears wailing like a banshee.

Tell me about it! I feel like throwing something at the TV every time Liza Wang appears -- seriously, does TVB really not have any other suitable roles for her? Why does she have to play the exact same type of role every series? Yes, I know that TVB probably gives her those types of 'maniac', bossy, controlling woman roles because that's the way she is in real life, but honestly, after like the 20th time, why continue to torture us audiences with it? Argh!

Chin Ka Lok is ok, but he has never been 'lead actor' material to me and somehow I always associate him with comedic roles (don't know why...maybe because of the Super Trio thing?), so not too keen on his performance in here....and sorry, but I can't stand Eliza Shum -- it's torture listening to her broken Cantonese and frustrating how wooden her acting is....the poor command of Cantonese definitely impacted her overall performance, as it's too obvious that she is struggling with getting every single line of dialogue out. It frustrated me to the point that I pretty much stopped watching most of her scenes after episode 1....

UGH! Michel can really act. Cute too!

I can't blame Liza blamed everything on Michel, for the death of his mom and slapped him. I understand there's some stress going on around her, but still...That's so mean. That memory will be stuck in him forever.

^So true! I pretty much skipped the previous 2 episodes cuz I got so bored...I just watched the So Gei scenes pretty much.

Oh and yea, the English scene was really weird....WTH?? Such a 'dramatic' scene and all of a sudden Eliza starts breaking out the English (and Mimi responds in English too)....I actually couldn't help laughing cuz that scene just came across so out of place (and a bit fake if you ask me..)

I'm so happy that Him and Mandy finally got together in episode 14.

But I'm quite disappointed with a lack of their scenes throughout the series.

Seriously, this series is too draggy with the whole Liza/Gigi and Chin Kar Lok/Eliza storylines....I find myself fowarding through majority of the episodes and pretty much only watching the So Gei and Him/Mandy scenes now....

^ Agreed. I just skip through the entire episode and only backtrack a little if I don't get what going on. I have zero interest in the storyline of Chin Ka Lok and Eliza. I feel like he looks kinda too old for her.

The full episode summaries are usually printed in TVB Weekly Magazine, which is published every Monday...the next edition of the magazine is scheduled to come out on 9/17.

The age difference (or at least the appearance of an age difference) is one thing....I've just never viewed Chin Ka Lok as 'lead actor' type material and his acting is honestly only so-so. And of course, as I already said earlier, Eliza frustrates me to no end, so I pretty much just skip all her scenes.

I also don't find the Liza / Gigi conflict thing interesting either -- both characters are extremely annoying and hearing them yelling at each other just gives me a headache.

Sorry to say this, but I'm looking forward to this series ending...

same here , because I wanted Eliza to speak in Cantonese , so she can improve on that , but they took the easy way out and let her argue in English

Absolutely agreed. It was so random...and they made it super dramatic, and she spoke dramatically and slow too. I mean she did nicely, but it just didn't fit the series at all..... =.="" They tried to hard to show her "english skills" here....

I watched that and I was like cringe! I like how she can speak english really well but I felt that it was inappropriate to the scene. Also I felt that it was weird when Eliza's 'mother' was speaking mandarin with 'man sok'. The background was quite funny to at that point! Anyways, still a great drama!
