Former love rivals, Taiwanese television host Patty Hou and singer-actress Jolin Tsai cross paths once again as the former joins the latter as 7-Eleven's latest ambassador. Patty and Mayday vocalist Ah Xin will play a couple in a series of advertisements for 7-Eleven. Although Jolin is no longer the sole ambassador, her contract with 7-Eleven still out wins Patty's takings by at least more than once. Jolin's earnings amount to NT8 million (S$400,000).
Both Jolin and Patty previously dated Taiwanese pop-idol Jay Chou. It was rumoured that Patty was the one who came between Jolin and Jay. Since then, Patty and Jolin have avoided each other in terms of work and appearances. However, the former rivals are forced to meet again thanks to this campaign.
As 7-Eleven's ambassador, Jolin has anchored many of their major ad campaigns and products. Therefore, it came as a surprise when Patty was chosen to front the new ads.

HONG KONG: Taiwanese actress Shu Qi has turned down a role in Chinese star Zhang Ziyi's English movie "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan".
Based on a novel by Lisa See, "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" is jointly produced by Zhang, Wendy Deng, wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Florence Sloan, wife of MGM chairman Harry Sloan, and also stars the Chinese actress.
The movie tells a story about a community of women with bound feet living in a remote Hunan province seeking companionship from one another. As they developed close friendships, the women developed a secretive Nu Shu language as a form of communication and to keep their secrets from the men.
In the film, Snow Flower, who was supposed to be played by Shu Qi, develops a lifelong friendship with Lily (Zhang) and there is a nude scene which shows them writing on each other's chest in the Nu Shu.

Group TVXQ's Micky Yoochun, YoungWoong Jaejoong and Xiah Junsu received the Best Asia Star Award at the 'Mnet Asian Music Awards'
TVXQ was awarded the 'Best Asia Star Award' at the Mnet 2009 MAMA at the Seoul, Jamshil Indoor Stadium on the 21st.
Xiah Junsu said, "Thank you. It's been a while. We are thankful to received such a big award. This award was not one we could have received from the efforts of only one member, the best efforts from all five members were needed to receive this award so it is more meaningful to us. Saki Aibu and Junpei Mizobata starring in horror/romance movie Neck

Actress Saki Aibu (24) will get her first starring role in an unorthodox horror movie directed by Shi Shirakawa called Neck. Junpei Mizobata (20) will co-star. The film is based on a story by Otaro Maijo originally printed in “esora” vol. 6 and was adapted by by the author himself.
Aibu will play a peculiar university student named Sugina Mayama who’s researching ways to create a ghost. Mizobata will play a fellow university student named Tomokazu Shudo who’s fallen hard for Sugina but has trouble confessing because she’s his first love. One day Sugina invites Tomokazu to her lab. When he arrives, the room is dark and there’s a large, ominous looking wooden box inside. The box is a mysterious device called a “neck machine” and Sugina aims to make the love-struck Tomokazu the first “victim” of her new creation. Yuta Hiraoka and Chiaki Kuriyama also star.

Piolo confirms movie project with Sarah G

MANILA - Hunk actor Piolo Pascual confirmed he is doing a movie with pop princess Sarah Geronimo.
Its in the works. It's up to Star Cinema and ABS-CBN. Whats important is that were family and working on it, Pascual revealed.
He said he is already looking forward to working with Geronimo, but declined to give a hint about the movie project.
Sarah's very versatile. She can do anything, the hunk actor added.
Pascual, meanwhile, said he is also raring to do a project with Pinoy Big Brother host Toni Gonzaga.
"We'll see. I'm a fan of her even before. Toni's amazing and hopefully, hopefully soon, we'll be given a chance to work with each other in movie or a soap," Pascual said.
Pascual said he will definitely have fun time working with Gonzaga, whom he worked with for a TV commercial for popular brand of softdrink almost a decade ago.
"She was only 16 then. She's destined to be a star. Aside from her good comedic timing, she is a good host, brilliant actress and she has what it takes," he said.

HONG KONG -- A prominent Chinese director banned by Beijing from making movies brought his new gay romance film to Hong Kong on Friday for what is likely the last of a handful of screenings on his home soil.
In 2006, China banned Lou Ye from shooting movies for five years after he screened "Summer Palace" at the Cannes Film Festival without government approval. In the film Lou tackled the Chinese military's brutal crackdown on pro-democracy student protesters at Beijing's Tiananmen Square in June 1989.
But he defied the ban, secretly shooting the love story "Spring Fever" with small, digital cameras in the eastern city Nanjing last year. He also entered it at Cannes this year, where it won best screenplay in May
In "Spring Fever," he takes on homosexuality -- another taboo in China -- with graphic gay sex scenes. The 115-minute movie is about a private investigator hired to spy on a married man having a gay affair. But the investigator falls into a love triangle with his own girlfriend and the boyfriend of the husband he is investigating.

Final "Hagure Keiji Junjoha" episode to air in December

TV Asahi's long-running detective drama series "Hagure Keiji Junjoha" will come to an end next month with its final special episode. The show ran for 18 seasons between 1988 and 2005, including several special episodes since 1999 aired at the start or end of the year.
The show's protagonist is played by veteran actor Makoto Fujita (76), who was recently removed from the cast of TBS's "JIN" due to his treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Fujita's health does not affect the "Hagure Keiji Junjoha" special, which was already filmed in June.
This special, which will be the drama's 444th episode, deals with the murder of a female lawyer. TV Asahi will air the episode at 9:00pm on December 26.

Ayaka Last Solo Concert to Become DVD

On November 18th at Osaka-Jo Hall Ayaka held what will become her last solo concert before suspending her music career. The DVD of the live performance 'MTV Unplugged ayaka' will go on sale on January 13th 2010.
200,000 fans had applied for a chance to become the 10,000 winners that would be invited for free to the concert. That was also the most number of people to view an MTV Unplugged event. As the title 'Unplugged' suggests, the performances were done with acoustic instruments (no electric instruments).
As her husband Mizushima Hiro looked on, Ayaka sang her first single 'I believe' and an assortment of other hit songs such as '三日月 / Mikazuki', and 'おかえり / Okaeri'.
