The 28-hour road closures of Wuchang Street in the popular shopping district of Ximending, Taiwan, for the gala premiere of Taiwanese movie, Monga, led to unhappiness and protests amongst shop owners. They complained that they were unable to carry out business as normal and threatened to create a scene. The situation was placed under control only after the arrival of the police.
The movie’s premiere attracted more than 500 curious bystanders. Although the electricity tripped when the two lead actors Ethan Ruan and Mark Chao made their entrance, ardent screams and cheers were still heard amongst the crowd.
Director Niu Chen-zer poignantly said, “I would like to thank my brothers. I hope for Taiwan’s movies to continue to shine bright and strong!”
Monga opened islandwide in Taiwan a few days ago and faces stiff competition at the box office with other newly-released movie titles such as Confucious and 14 Blades. Going against traditions, the production team invested S$500,000 for the movie promotions and S$250,000 in meet-and-greet sessions with fans.

They may be embroiled in rumours surrouding romancing their female co-stars, but Hong Kong TVB actors Moses Chan and Raymond Lam have come out tops in an online poll where netizens voted for their ideal lover. The two actors were joined by fellow Hong Kong celeb, Heavenly King Andy Lau as the ideal male lover.
Charlene Choi (also know as Ah Sa), one-half of Cantopop girl group Twins was the overall winner of the poll which was conducted in-lieu with Valentine’s Day. Male netizens were said to prefer 28-year-old’s jovial personality and effervescent smile while female netizens loved her sweet and goody-two-shoes image. Model-actress Angelababy, Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin, and newbie singer Gloria Tang (also known as G.E.M.) followed close behind.
Delighted at his results, 31-year-old Raymond professed that he would like to spend “a very romantic valentine’s day” with his lover.
When he was asked to pick between the female celebs polled to choose his ideal lover, he said, “It is a really tough choice. If I really had to choose, I would choose the younger G.E.M. However I would be filming a movie together with Charlene, I can’t neglect her.”
Moses said he was “really very happy” with the results and thanked ”all the ladies for their support.” The 39-year-old feels that his “smile” and “amicability” won him the affections of his voters. Similar to Raymond, Moses praised Charlene for being “very sweet and very cute.”

Ikuta Toma and Oguri Shun Threw Beans Together!

Ikuta Toma appeared on Oguri Shun's radio program "Oguri Shun All Night Japan/小栗旬のオールナイトニッポン" as guest on February 3rd.
Ikuta Toma just revealed episodes of the movie "Ningen Shikkaku" in NHK documentary TV program "Jonetsu Tairiku/情熱大陸" the other day.
February 3rd is "Setsubun/節分". Usually it's the day before the beginning of spring. There is a tradition that people throw beans inside and out side the home while saying "Oni wa Soto! Fuku wa Uchi!（鬼は外！福は内！ lit. Ogre get out! Luck come in!）"
On this day, they had a special plan of beans-throwing and called someone for "luck". Actually, Oguri and Ikuta threw the beans on the program,
Ikuta: "Only two of us had a very exciting time (laugh). There were beans everywhere, and we had to clean it up before we went home. It was quite a lot. There were even beans in the shoes and stuck on our pants. I had Oguri cooked them. That's all."
It seems they had a quite big event...and it must be very interesting!
Ikuta: "Shun-kun noticed that I held a pantyhose in the Jonetsu Tairiku. And we laughed at it a lot! Anyway, I feel refreshed. I will do my best today too."

They play a couple who develops an office romance in Xu Jinglei's new film, "Du Lala's Promotion," or "Du La La Sheng Zhi Ji" in Chinese.
As an actress-turned-director, Xu has directed three films with the common theme of girls' coming-of-age. As for her new project, which is based on an inspiring novel about young people struggling for success, the actress said it focuses more on women's spiritual and mental growth rather than on offering office survival tactics.

Mainland actress Li Bingbing graced the cover of Vogue February issue, Taiwan. Li Bingbing won the Best actress title at the 46th Golden Horse Awards in Taipei 2009 for her performance in the spy thriller film 'The Message'.
In an accompanying interview with the magazine, the actress played down the excitement of winning over the prize.
"I believe in destiny. You get what you deserve and lose what's not yours. So I don't ask too much in life and won't be affected by things around me."
The actress recalled her thrill at the award-winning moment but revealed she was quite clear in mind, whether she won it or not, she was still herself.
Li Bingbing, who once called herself a "later bloomer", has been in the industry for over a decade but was not as highly influential figure as she is today until she took home the best actress title for 'Yun Shui Yao' or 'The Ballad of Cloud and Water' in 2008.
The actress is now using her present stardom to influence and give back more to society. She assumed the Green Ambassador of China Environmental Protection Foundation a couple of years ago and has done a great deal in promoting public awareness of environmental protection.
