It was revealed that Jang Geun Suk have losted 7kg to film SBS Drama "You're Beautiful". Jang Geun Suk plays character 'Hwang Tae Kyung'.
On the 23rd of November, Jang Geun Suk's management company revealed (disclosed) that Jang Geun Suk jas been on a special diet regime to lose weight before the filming starts. As of the result, the actor has lost a total of 7kg.
Jang Geun Suk replied: "As an actor, we have to do stuff to fit within the character." He revealed that in order to look beautiful, he had to reveal handsomness and collarbones. "Hwang Kyung Tae is a character known to be cool and easily make friends with music. He also said that by losing weight, it also helps him get into character.
After losing weight, the actor currently weighs 60kg.
He also thanked for having an excellent acting ability to act as the "bad guy" Hwang Tae Kyung because the character Jang Geun Suk plays is currently one of the audience favorite.

THSK to appear together for the first time in 3 months

DBSK/THSK is going to appear on Japanese television with all five members together. It will be their first public appearance together in almost 3 months, since they have not been seen together after their Osaka concert which happened on August 30th in Japan.
They will appear on Nihon TV's "Best Hit Music Award 2009" on coming 26th and Fuji TV's "FNS Music Award" on December 2nd. They are also planning on attending NHK's "Red White Kohaku" and "Japan Record Awards". Members will soon part for Japan in order to plan their schedules for these end of year ceremonies.
Although Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu are legally independent of SM Entertainment now (as in they don't have to listen to SME on DBSK related activities), they are still bound to AVEX, their Japanese management as Tohoshinki. As long as their contract with AVEX stands, they are to carry on with their Japanese schedules. Will they really appear as one THSK on these shows, and will there be any performances?

2PM WooYoung and TaekYeons afterthoughts about MAMA on their minihompy

2PM member WooYoung and TaecYeon posted up their thoughts being awarded the artiste of the year on 2009 MAMA, much out of their anticipation.
WooYoung posted up a short message on his minihompy at about 1.46am shortly after MAMA ended saying, “Thank you”. 2PM has received over the award without their leader Jaebum that day. WooYoung was seen tearing on stage when receiving over the awards, and hugging other members like Nich Khun and Chansung.
Fans who visited his minihompy left messages like”Don’t cry. We are also waiting for JaeBum together”, “Seeing you cry breaks my heart. Himnae!”, “You guys must have gone through some rough period back then, and given that you all are still so young” etc
Member TaecYeon also posted up a post on his minihompy following that, saying, “We will continue to work hard. Thank you.”
TaecYeon has called out to JaeBum when the group was receiving over the Best Male Group Award that night, saying, “We are all waiting, so we hope you will come back.”
2PM has won 2 awards that day on 2009 MAMA – Artiste of The Year and Best Male Group Award.

Music Awards Has Fresh Yet Disappointing Start

The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) came to an end Saturday, but unfortunately, there were some shortcomings despite it being called Asia's best music award event.
The much-anticipated event was held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, with young fans lined up near the entrances in hopes of catching a glimpse of some of their favorite K-pop singers.
Mnet Media scrapped its 10-year Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) in October, announcing that it was bringing an upgraded music event for not only fans in Korea, but throughout Asia as well. While the overall show was entertaining, it failed to truly captivate fans with its results and concept.
The red carpet entrance was a good way to kick off the six-hour event, with female singers donning stylish outfits, mostly in black, some in fur and others in leather.
MAMA offered eight main stages, or ``waves,'' each with special concepts and performances.
The first wave, ``Asian Fever,'' featured Drunken Tiger, who later won the Best Male Solo Artist. The award for the Best Female Solo Artist went to Baek Ji-young. The Best New Male Artist went to the Supreme Team, while 2NE1 won ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

K-Pop Stars Head to Shanghai for Concert

K-pop stars Wheesung, f(x), 2PM, 2AM, U-Kiss and 4Minute will be heading to Shanghai this week for a concert and fashion show.
The ``Feel Korea, K-POP Night & K-Fashion Show'' is part of the ``2010-2012 Visit Korea Year'' initiative, which was launched earlier this month. The fashion show will be held at the Longemont Hotel, Tuesday, while the much-anticipated K-pop concert will be held at the Shanghai Grand Stage, Wednesday evening.
Korea is hoping the star power of the Korean celebrities will encourage more Chinese tourists to travel to Korea in the next few years. Wheesung, a popular R&B singer, already has many fans in China. His remake of Craig David's ``Insomnia'' has gained a lot of airplay recently. He has just released his sixth album, ``Vocolate.''
Girl group f(x) made its debut just a few months ago, but have caught people's attention with their catchy hits ``LA chA Ta'' and ``Chocolate Love.'' The multi-national group includes Victoria, who is Chinese, Amber, a Taiwanese-American, and Sulli, Luna and Krystal from Korea.

Mnet and SME appear to be mortal enemies, but many still remember the fact that they used to be very friendly with each other. Exactly what made them become such bitter adversaries? What exactly is Mnet?
Mnet is a media company owned by CJ Media which focuses on music, media, entertainment and web content business. CJ Media is a part of CJ, a South Korean conglomerate that is one of the top five largest companies in the country. Mnet is involved in pretty much every aspect of the entertainment industry, ranging from album production, distribution, sales, management, television broadcasting, online media and many other businesses. Newspapers all over the world write up stories when celebrities commit suicide. We can’t help wondering why those we idolize most — the world’s wealthiest, most beautiful, most talented — would take their own lives. Don’t they have it all? Don’t we want to be them? And won’t we show up anyway tomorrow to audition for JYP – the Korean management firm that trains and manages K-Pop bands, Korean TV stars, and even models?
Though it is not uncommon for celebrities to take their own lives, in South Korea more than anywhere else it has become a trend, and the blogs are buzzing at the recent death of a Korean runway model. Group TVXQ's Micky Yoochun, YoungWoong Jaejoong and Xiah Junsu received the Best Asia Star Award at the 'Mnet Asian Music Awards'
TVXQ was awarded the 'Best Asia Star Award' at the Mnet 2009 MAMA at the Seoul, Jamshil Indoor Stadium on the 21st.
Xiah Junsu said, "Thank you. It's been a while. We are thankful to received such a big award. This award was not one we could have received from the efforts of only one member, the best efforts from all five members were needed to receive this award so it is more meaningful to us. We would like to thank all our fans in Asia for this award."

Breaking & Entering: The Wonder Girls
Complete with a dance studio, rehearsal stage and a recording space, the JYP Entertainment office in midtown Manhattan the only Asian record label currently open in the U.S., according to founder JY Park feels more like an artists training camp than a corporate space. But for Korean pop band The Wonder Girls, its their home literally.
For the past few months, the quintet comprised of Sunye, Ye-eun, Sohee, Sunmi and Yubin has made a home of the top two floors of the building, which is split up into separate dormitories. Chosen through an audition process and placed in the JYP Academy two years ago, the girls have been honing their skills in singing, dancing and acting as well as mastering several languages in preparation of their as-yet-untitled English-language album a twelve track set with six of the songs being English versions of their Korean hits, and the rest original English material.
