translated by minchong92 @ http://asianfanatics.net

After Zai Zai’s “non-appearance” at Taiwan’s Golden Bell Awards’ after party, he has finally shared his thoughts on this incident. Zai Zai indicated that he never thought that he would win “Best Actor” and even laughed that in the future, he won’t be in the entertainment circle anymore. Instead, he will go and become a nightclub cowboy!

This year, Taiwan’s Golden Bell Awards was accused of revealing the results before the ceremony. Apparently, Mark Chao won the “Best Actor” award with the help of his father’s affiliates. Zai Zai, who had been widely predicted to win, left without an award.

While Taiwanese media has joined in revealing this injustice, Zai Zai expressed for the very first time: “I was hoping for Zhang Shi to win. Only my prediction did not prove to be true. But it doesn’t really matter. I didn’t think I would win. So why is the focus put on [Ruffian Hero]’s two actors? There is no reason to have so many ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

DaS (Xu Xi Yuan ) attended Suisse Programme (a product she endorses) Asian first Beauty specialty store opening. Not fearing the cold weather, she arrived in a low cut dress. The event especially organised a brand car to drive her to the place, but she almost revealed her underwear as she got out of it. DaS was quite smart, she offered the new shop's boss a giant wind mill, to mean her best wishes and for good luck.

DaS expressed that this year, she did many openings and other endorsement jobs, however she wouldn't reward herself but buy gifts for her family instead, like toys and clothes. She hopes she can endorse for a car brand next. About her almost revealing too much while getting out of the car, she laughed and said she was quite anxious as the car was quite big and she feared she wouldn't be able to ..... With the year drawing to an end, it is also time for singers to earn their last and usually biggest ‘ang-bao’ (‘red packet’) for the year at the annual countdown parties. By estimation, the most lucrative deal will be the countdown performance in Shanghai, with popular Taiwanese singer Show Luo earning a whopping NT5 million (about $250,000). Show’s good friend, Jolin Tsai, may be missing out on the annual countdown but is definitely not losing out on earnings. She will be performing at “Hennessy Night” on the night before the countdown, and will be raking in NT8 million (about $400,000).

Show’s increasing popularity is opening more doors for him. The singer-actor is slated for the final performance before the countdown. Lasting for 40 minutes, Show will be performing a total of 10 songs, thus earning a total of NT5 million ($250,000).

More than 400 Taiwanese artistes on tax man's 'wanted list'

TAIPEI: Taiwanese tax authorities are coming down hard on celebrities as more than 400 artistes are being investigated for tax evasion this year.

Those on the 'wanted list' include hosts Barbie Hsu and Dee Hsu, as well as actresses Cheryl Yang and Joe Chen, who are among the top earners in the Taiwanese entertainment industry.

This isn't the first time a massive tax evasion investigation has been launched. Mando-pop singer Zhang Hui Mei and host Jacky Wu were previously in trouble with the tax man. In such cases, the artistes will either try to settle the issue amicably or go to court.

Last year, the Hsu sisters won their case against the authorities and they are hoping history will repeat itself.

The sisters have been told to cough up 40 million Taiwan dollars (S$2 million) in outstanding taxes this year and they will take their case to court once again after failing to reach an agreement with authorities.

Other celebrities such as supermodel Lin Chiling and host Kevin Tsai, ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Jacky Wu Plans to File Lawsuit against Magazine

Taiwan's "king of entertainment" Jacky Wu plans to sue the local China Times Weekly (CTW) magazine for allegedly misreporting that he borrowed 500 million New Taiwan dollars, or about 15.6 million U.S. dollars from illegal money lenders.

A report on the website Sina.com said the TV host held a press conference with his lawyer on Tuesday before taping one of his variety shows. At the conference, Wu demanded that CTW issue a correction within three days.

Wu has signed a petition for redress and is ready to submit it to the court at any time, his lawyer said. But the compensation amount has yet to be determined based on the outcome of the matter. Wu would donate all money awarded to charities, his lawyer said.

CTW reported in its Nov. 13 issue that Wu had to borrow money to solve financial problems at H&T Electronics Co., Ltd. of Taiwan, where he is chairman of the board. But Wu indicated that the company's capital amounted to 10.9 million ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)
